City council candidates night set for April 20 The Hilliard Area Chamber of Commerce will once again sponsor Candidates Night on at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, at the Norwich Township Joint Safety Services Building, 5181 Northwest Parkway. The Chamber believes that it is incumbent upon the community to ask and hear the responses to their questions in public of all candidates who are running in a contested race. Hilliard is among the few communities that does not have a nonpartisan race for city council or mayor as outlined in the city charter. There was only one petition filed for the mayoral election by current Mayor Don Schonhardt, Republican. As there are five Republican can-

Of the three Hilliard City Council seats that are up, one current councilperson, Tim Roberts, is not running for re-election. Albert Iosue and Bill Uttley are running for re-election. Three first-time candidates are running and they are: Joseph Erb, Nathan Painter, and Cornell Robertson. We encourage you and ask that you inform others in your business as well as neighbors, friends, etc to attend the forum to learn the positions of those wishing to lead our city.
