Teacher Responsibilities: Lower School

Draft Teacher Responsibilities: Lower School

Classroom Responsibilities To maximize space in classrooms and to ensure ease in cleaning in the evenings, please remove any unnecessary furniture, books and personal items from the rooms. Additionally, we will remove communal meeting spaces to maximize social distancing with student tables. Bean bags, chairs, etc. should be stored away for the year. We will also need to keep hallways free of additional tables to allow for clear walking paths in the hallway.

Duty Responsibilities Homeroom Teachers will be in their classroom as students arrive (8:00-8:30 a.m.) to welcome them and get the morning work started. HRTs will not be responsible for taking temperature checks. Temperature checks will occur outside in the carline.

Teachers will be asked to supervise lunch every day in their classroom with their homeroom cohort group.

At the end of the day, teachers will help coordinate the dismissal of students and then have the remaining time for planning and other things they need to accomplish (3:00-4:00 p.m.)

Traditional carline duties will be absorbed by a few special area teachers and LS division director.

Attire In consideration of the unusual—and temporary, we hope!—school year ahead, CSG has decided to relax our dress code for faculty for the 2020-2021 academic year. Because the goal of our expectations for dress is always to encourage us to dress for the circumstances of our day, please feel free to dress in clothing that can be easily washed and that will allow you to work in a multitude of spaces throughout campus. Please continue to avoid wearing athletic or workout wear. All clothing should be neat, clean and without holes. Spirit wear is encouraged!
