UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE La chapelle de Ronchamp Ronchamp is a small town in Haute-Saône which is located around 20 kms from Belfort. You can access Ronchamp by train, by bicycle or by car.
The Chapel is a creation of the famous architect “Le Corbusier”. It was built from 1950 to 1955. In the chapel, he played with the light which enters the building by various forms and orientations of openings. The white walls seem to bear the roof that is balanced on little points and looks like a boat. The Chapel was built in the top of a hill (472 meters), it is completely made with concrete
. Today, the catholic chapel is a place of rest and services for the visitors and the pilgrims. It’s also a great touristic spot for new design. Tom, Nadia, Inès, Mikail, Justine, Lucille, Mathieu

You can go there by bus, with your own bike or with an Optymo’s bike. You’ll find a bike station in Etang des Forges (it’s a self-service bike you can borrow with your bus pass).
“L'étang des forges” is a touristic place where you can practice different sports as it’s a recreational area and a lake. It’s the main Belfort spot for joggers. You can also fish or practice kayak or windsurfing.
“La tour de la Miotte” was a part of a medieval castle. That was, probably, a watchtower because of its position on the top of a hill just in front of Belfort. In the 19th century, the tower was integrated in “Le fort de la Miotte”. The fort was a first line of defense for Belfort. The tower was destroyed several times by bombing, its last rebuild was in 1947.
Today, the tower is a really good spot to have a wonderful overview of the city and the Vosges. There is a path from the city center which goes through the tower and goes down the Etang.
