We live in a society of toolness. We value tools. We want tools. We seek status through tool acquisition. And most importantly: we are tools. Brands use us as their tools to expand their scope. Social media use us as tools to get to know each and every one of us. Educational institutions make us tools that perform certain actions and follow the already established schemes and formulas. We uTOOlize everything we are told and do our best to fit that framework and demands, whether it is work environment or school. But there is a major flaw in this process. Our possibilities do not get acquired and extended. We are solely relying on the capability dimension while our being is strictly connected with the presence. However, the circumstances have never been more beneficial for fostering the opportunity to change this. Given the current techonology and a list of people who do not fit the framework discussed above, now is the time to out-tool ourselves or better, become a self-directed and self-regulated tool. latent user needs into actionable design strategies that yield immediate and measurable business results.

NOWADAYS People looking for a way to end a desire and make it a reality, yet focusing only on the tangible dimension instead of the holistic approach for self.

The problem which is raised by ustwo is the missed opportunity of humans’ potential which is as broad as the ocean horizon and as deep as Mariana’s Trench. There is so much stigma around current industries which do not allow people to get creative and step out of their comfort zones to become better selves.

But what if that technology is actually our solution? What if it has the biggest potential to effectively help us overcome all these hindrances and access underlying vasts of knowledge and possibilities? In this project I am seeking to find the recipe for adding value to human’s daily living as a self and as part of a community. Basing the foundations on the aspects of unlearning and play the key is to find a unique one-of-a-kind imagination lab for one to connect with inner-self and expose his latent identity. Scanning current technology and consumer market I am looking for context to bridge most valuable and obtainable channels to let the user become a medium into possibility, to benefit himself and everyone else.

We have been introduced and made to learn all the previous systems and findings that are in most cases outdated within the current situation. We tend to say that we should blame the technology for all this discrepancy discussed above and the fact that we are constantly disattaching our potential from our presence.

It is easy to blame ourselves but sometimes the problem sits deeper and is passed on with generations. The lack of imagination ruling current systems slowly turns us into robots performing all our actions in almost brainless and monotonous routine movements. That also leads to lack of using all the creativity we get when we are born, trying to fit in the work schema.

To support and enhance new methods of delivering the best outcome and value proposition, I am striving to bring the discovered-in-the-early-stages-of-myproject themes with philosophical frameworks and merge them together for the best outcome. One of those I identified as playception, which discusses play as the essential and main aspect of all human activities. Formed upon identified themes around the project, observation of the current market, consumers, and technologies, and desire to go beyond the obvious outcomes.

WHAT I F UN LE AR NI NG WAS A LIFE TI M E CURR I CULUM ? In playception, play ethos becomes the middle ground. This is the answer or the solution that the rest of the content is shaped around. From that point on, it became clear that play, in other words pleasure, becomes the tool for one to use. That structured my framework and divided it into four categories around the paradigm of ‘I-master’, the one who needs to unlearn. Specifically I look at an individual as he is right now (‘identity’ and ‘noumena’) and create a potential and medium into the future, the ultimate intrinsic value to be reached (‘virtue’ and ‘phenomena’). However, the point is that the future is now, it is happening at this exact moment, and the key is to be aware of this and be able to disclose it in an desirable way. I turn to micromoments since these are the ones that have the most potential and get generated in the most honest way. Impulse, which I am talking about, is the trigger everyone has and it is revealed only in a certain context.

Looking into different ways of finding that condition that could be a universal solution I looked into science, philosophy, biology, religion, market analysis, consumer statistics and more. Wanting to understand how we function, what we respond to, what we want, what we imagine and how we think was the main objective of my research. In here I discuss different case studies I analyzed, philosophy that is applicable for my case and searched solution, definitions from different sources that give a broad understanding of the problem and value proposition. In the end I analyze six dimensions of wellness as a port gathering all the information, data, and desired definitions of the project.

gartner The collection of case studies I analyzed and looked into was chosen based on my topic and research within the realm of technology, consumer forecast, consumer behaviours, and market situation. Some of the aspects gained include the need to enhancing consumers delight for deeper and more intimate connections with brands and organizations, people’s desire to cocreate experience and leave their signatures, the relationship with the smart object and current technology, or growing interest in gamification as an incentive for playful environments and more users.

For consumers, this provides new levels of empowerment. In addition to being highly informed, consumers can interact and influence the way they experience everything around them. For their part, organizations now get real-time connections to the real world that allows machines as well as employees to act and react faster—and more intelligently. This means spaces and environments will become phygital, blurring physical and digital world and extending intelligence to the edge. Lives are becoming more connected and enterprises more personalized to customers’ preferences, habits, and context. These are woven together and make daily experiences simple and delightful. What happens in effect is that every experience is becoming a digital experience as ordinary ‘things’ become intelligent devices. Gamification is increasingly proving to be a powerful tool to immerse, engage and motivate learners. In Gartner’s opinion, experience matters most: 89 percent of business leaders surveyed believe that customer experience will be their primary basis for competition by 2016. This is why it is the time to take action and look deeply into the connected world and expand it in all directions for people’s own best.

The rise in social networking has breathed new life into collaboration. Users’ new social behavior and their growing expectation that every app will be “social” are pushing companies to create new user experiences. The new approach is to build social and collaborative applications throughout the enterprise. The real world is coming online, as smart objects, devices, and machines increase our insight into and control over the physical world. by Hall & Partners Life is the greatest of all art forms and creativity is just its’ expression. Our creativity stimulates our behaviours. Behaviour is motivation filtered through opportunity - and technology has changed the opportunity space dramatically. It is only the motivation that remains the same: to create markets, to stimulate demand etc. As for changing markets and understanding them along with behaviour, one of the most important insights out there comes from the movie ‘When Harry met Sally’ and goes: I’ll have what she’s having. Our species’ amazing ability to learn from those around us shapes our lives from the moment we’re born. We spend our lives in a world of other people and this is what shapes our own individual actions- as consumers, as citizens and as individuals engaging with our friends, families, and colleagues. Oscar Wilde stressed this a long time ago, as ‘most people are other people. their thought are someone else’s opinion, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.’ And now we live in a world where it gets more easier than ever. The Internet is the key element from transferring all sorts of information including the emotions. Couple of years ago Christopher Flook stated that the Internet will become humanity’s source for finding love, escaping pain, searching for answers, religious belief and anything else emotions drives. His prediction proved uncannily accurate. Now it is up to brands to step into this second revolution in digital media having at their disposal a myriad of techniques to engage consumers in more diverse, emotionally-intense ways than ever before. And it is highly important to see that emotional drivers are associated with tangible features in a stratified way.

skandha The historical Buddha spoke often of the Five Skandhas, also called the Five Aggregates or the Five Heaps. The skandhas, very roughly, might be thought of as components that come together to make an individual and the sense of a single self. Every thing that we think of as “I” is a function of the skandhas. It is based on five different faculties: Form (Rupa) - the form or matter, something that can be sensed like fluidity, solidity, heat, motion, Sensation (Vedana)- physical or mental sensation experienced when in contact with the external world for instance ear with sound, tongue with taste, Perception (Samjna)- the faculty that recognizes, knowledge that puts

together, Mental Formation (Samskara) - all volitional actions with mind preceding all mental states, Consciousness (Vijnana)dependable on other skandhas, awareness, reaction to the physical world. Skandha treats mind as an organ or faculty itself, just like an eye or a nose. The whole reasoning of this philosophy brings different ways of understanding human components as in the meaning of desire, recognition, understanding. Zeigarnik Effect

Von Restorff Effect

In 1927, Bluma Zeigarnik found that waiters remembered orders only as long as the order was in the process of being served. This case study proves that we remember better things that are incomplete or unfinished. When we are holding things in short-term memory, we have to rehearse them otherwise they disappear, like a light going out. This requires cognitive effort, and the more things we are rehearsing the more effort. The finding has a potential of drawing from it as a way of introducing the content in an unfinished way. The key takeaway being the fact that inclusion of this framework and presenting information can become way more meaningful for one and purposeful if remembered. The Von Restorff effect was identified by (sourced on changingminds.org) Hedwig von Restorff in 1933. She conducted a set of memory experiments around isolated and distinctive items, concluding that an isolated item, in a list of otherwise similar items, would be better remembered than an item in the same relative position in a list where all items were similar. In the ‘attention age’, when the plethora of media around us is constantly battling for a moment of our time, advertisers make much use of this principle, each vying with the other to stand out from the crowd and hence be remembered by the target audience. Therefore this case study proves that bold, vivid, and even heroic solutions and content have way more potential than the ones being stylized as ordinary and casual. The key point and key value to draw upon is that Von Restorff effect has a lot of meaning when it comes to such realm as learning, knowledge, mastery, seeing opportunity and relevant. To understand the premise of the research themes I looked into different authors that wrote papers on play, playfulness and creativity. This allowed me to define a scope and borders for my project and understanding the premises of it. Play being a very broad category has been deeply analyzed and examined by many people throughout the centuries. I am focusing on play as a positive developmental process leading to extraordinary outcomes. Through this research it was brought to my attention that playfulness depends on many factors that I might have overlooked without looking into the studies presented below. I also validated and proved that the focus of my project is highly important, for instance, playfulness is highly dependable on culture and workplace attitudes. These variables are highly affective for individuals and can diminish creativity. In the end, play elicits strong emotional responses because it satisfied many of our most basic human needs.


Lev Vygotsky

Vygotsky named two criteria of play: an imaginary situation, and rules correlating with the imaginary situation. Vygotsky described all imaginary situations as having rules.

Rubin, Fein, Vanderburg

Rubin with his coauthors wrote: “…play is a behavioral disposition that occurs in describable and reproduceable contexts and is manifest in a variety of observable behaviors.” This definition points three layers of play defined as: context (space, time, body state, social aspects), behavioural dimensions (cognitive and social behaviours), and disposition. The latter one consists of is six different aspects. These include play as an intrinsically motivated behavior, a focus on the process over the product, play rather than exploratory behaviors, nonliterality, freedom from external rules, and active engagement.

Lieberman was the pioneer who first proposed a relationship between playfulness and creativity, She concluded that playfulness is a unitary trait characterized by the five components that comprised her definition, i.e., physical spontaneity, manifest joy, sense of humor, social spontaneity, and cognitive spontaneity. In her studies she discusses playfulness as a disposition and described it as follows: By this I mean the lightheartedness that we find as a quality of play in the young child’s activities and, later on, as the combinatorial play essential to imagination and creativity. I, therefore, see playfulness as behavior that goes beyond the childhood years; and, through its component parts of sense of humor, manifest joy, and spontaneity, it has major implications for childrearing practices, educational planning, career choices, and leisure pursuits.

Piaget wrote, “Play is primarily mere functional or reproductive assimilation”. Piaget identified six criteria that are typically used to describe play: lacking precision, spontaneous, pleasurable, lacking organization, free from conflicts, and consisting of additional incentives. However, he presented logical arguments to refute each criterion and concluded that the only acceptable definition of play was that play occurs when assimilation predominates over accommodation. In his opinion play is not a behavior but rather an orientation of the behavior: “An examination of the main criteria usually adopted to distinguish play from non-ludic activities shows clearly that play is not a behaviour per se, or one particular type of activity among others. It is determined by a certain orientation of the behavior, or by a general ‘pole’ of the activity, each particular action being characterized by its greater or less proximity to the pole and by the kind of equilibrium between the polarized tendencies.”

Imagination and play are innate in our being. There is no on/off switch. Yet in the context of business, many of us have disconnected from our playful and imaginative selves out of fear. Fear that we may be exposed as uncommitted or unprofessional. Fear that our imaginations may evoke the unpopular or impractical idea. There is risk in imagining and risk in play. We risk bringing forth new possibilities. We risk letting go of deeply held assumptions. Gadamer (2000: 366) notes that transformation lies not in solving of problem but in “that a question occurs to us that breaks through into the open and thereby makes a new answer possible.” Powerful questions move us from the realm of the now to the realm of what could be. They invite us to imagine. They invite us to play. We can then invent new metaphors for our organizations, ask the powerful and transforming questions, test and explore our proposed courses of action. The concept of transformation stands for one’s willingness to the open to new understanding. The transformation of a community or organization is its movement towards itself. It is an unveiling and revealing of the possibility inherent in that community. Play is the medium of this transformation. Our true being becomes expressed in play and in relationship to other players. Imagination: the reproductive, productive and empathetic is directly concerned with being, and so playing. Ricoeur states, “one lives only that which one imagines.” and it must continuously search for the spirit of play. While play is always happening in the context of our relationships to others, the medium of play opens the player to exploration of himself.

Play behaviour dominates human consciousness and thus defines human values. Creativity and play have consistently been identified as a core, primary human value. Human values drive behaviour and thus coherent human action. Latent imagination and creativity are embedded in play behaviour. Play behaviour generates new ways of combining ideas, pattern of ideas, images and concepts. Play behaviour transforms these concepts into useful and practical ways of enabling purposeful human action that improves the human condition. Play is ageless and while ‘at play’ people are just people; themselves.Play is the ideal conduit for communication between people. Communication creates connections and encourages collaboration. Collaboration is key in the exploration of possibility. People thrive while at play as they pursue to discover the best of themselves in mastery. Mastery gives confidence for self discovery and the multidimensional expression of who we truly are. Play is life. Play is the sum of our spirit of being alive. Hands don’t play, the mind does. Play is an attitude, an approach to life that asks imaginative questions and acts out on instinct the qualities and impulses of the natural self. The pleasure in play comes from the exercising of our freedom, it comes from the excitement of exploration, and from the thrill of discovery. It comes from feeling no limits to our possibilities to be who we truly are.

Huizinga’s book describes play as a free and meaningful activity, carried out for its own sake, spatially and temporally segregated from the requirements of practical life, and bound by a self-contained system of rules that holds absolutely. The philosophical starting point of Huizinga’s study is the observation that, where there is play, there is also “meaning”. Playing makes sense to the player. To describe play is to describe its “meaningfulness” for the players. Playing is thus closely akin to aesthetics, in that experience is irreducible: it constitutes an essential aspect of the phenomenon. (gamestudies.org). According to one theory play constitutes a training of the young creature for the serious work that life will demand later on. According to another it serves as an exercise in restraint needful to the individual. in acknowledging play you acknowledge mind, for whatever else play is, it isnot matter.

In his book “Creativity: Flow and the Psychology of Discovery and Invention” he describes playfulness as a complex traits of creative individuals. In his eyes, creative people are complex and categorized that complexity in a multi-dimensional framework. These include such variables as sense of fantasy and reality, extroverted and introverted, independent and culturally adept, passionate about their work and objective about their work. He states that the creative individuals are able to exhibit all of the above and have fluid states in a sense of having ability to go from one extreme to another.

In tai-chi practitioners move their body in a very unique and uncomparable way to any other movements we perform daily. It can be described as slowly, softly, continuous, gentle and graceful bodily movement with smooth and even transitions between them. The focus it requires is a way of putting body in a meditative state. The movements happening from moment to moment create a journey itself that foster tranquility and release of all tensions, whether vascular or spiritual. Tai-chi is a state of flow. The flow that is experienced while practicing it is an intellectual, mental, and spiritual journey into inner self, and at the same time a physical expansion of bodily agents. Psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi wrote that ‘the best moments in our lives are not the passive, receptive, relaxing times (…) The best moments usually occur if a person’s body or mind is stretched to its limits in a voluntary effort to accomplish something difficult and worthwhile.” It can be said that our best selves do not simply happen. They need to be practiced, fostered, and cultivated, whether through setting goals and challenges or a constant attempts for improvement without a certain objective. In a flow state, like tai-chi, a person is completely immersed in an activity with full creative engagement. (info sourced from pursuit-of-happiness.org) Recent research done by Harvard neuroscientists concluded: “mind-wandering appears to be the brain’s default mode of operation, and a wandering mind is an unhappy mind” (Harvard University for SCIENCE magazine). One study states an average person thinks 65000 thoughts per day, and 95% of the thoughts are the same from the day before (Quantum Healing: Exploring the Frontiers of Mind/Body Medicine. Deepak Chopra). All this information is a deep and broad scope of resource that is not used and omitted by everyone. And yet, this is the most important material and matter that stands for our knowledge, capabilities, and possibilities.

For the purpose of this project I decided to revisit this topic and apply each node to the project to see how it fits and how it could be defined through this lens. Humans experience the world in terms of meaning, by negotiating between feeling and thinking; and by mediating between stimulus from the world and their internal life. By bridging this model with the six dimensions of human needs I was able to synthesize my framework. Each of the dimensions can be thought of as a keyhole, which requires a key to be unlocked. These keys have been added at the outside of the diagram. Those are drawn from the aspects and main advantages of my project. Starting from a very broad stage, it gets narrower with the deeper expansion and analytical penetration. This framework enhances the value proposition and makes it not only more relevant, but also meaningful. At the same time it retrieves what is fragmented and deconstructed in one’s life and experiences - the blind spot -giving an opportunity to unlearn and implement new qualities. It is projected that by 2050 the Earth’s population will rise to 9.7 billion. By then, 67% of the global population will live in cities, creating both challenges and opportunities. (data from Electrolux) More people means less space. More people means more density on everyday basis. Specialists keep looking for designs and technologies to effectively alleviate incoming problems with growing populations and urbanization. In fact, most of this evolution addresses such aspects as products, impact on compact living, architecture, material innovation and relevant. One, really crucial part of this whole system tends to be neglected, a person as a self. What will happen to these urban dwellers’ mindsets and wellness as they will face these drastic changes? How will it affect their identity?


The project aims to foster the personal growth through finding the easy way into navigating the balance, harmony and connection between all wellness dimensions. With the major emphasis in spiritual and intellectual dimensions the premise is to let them streamline and lead the following rest.

My analysis and foresight was the 3rd degree of horizons framework I identified throughout my research. From all the content I gathered I constructed a map to exemplify and objectify my findings in a cohesive, visual way. Based on that I took on with the basic understanding of current context where my project should sit in. I wanted to structure my foresight into a way to deliver upon the incubating trends therefore I decided to define my own stream of trend forecast based on the research nodes. Having scanned the current market, technology and consumer realm, it resulted in 11 different signals for project’s ascension. The method for compiling the signals came through acquisition of the essence of the examples and implication driven from each towards my project. Today I worked for hours reviewing what our customers have to say about our newest product. But the day ended up with an awesome deal! To keep all employees in the office entertained and not bored with the work, we participate in a 10-minute workshop taking place twice a day. It lets us network and collectively build fun experiences. Once I suggested smudging smartphone’s screen that gave haptic feedback letting the user know it felt it and liked it as well. Most of the people double-tapped it and saved that to their daily life pocket app. Last week, my co-worker Sara projected her idea of making any space turned into a cave and go pitch-black for a few minutes. I revisited this project today and suggested floating as people do in Dead Sea. I was surprised by how many people liked this idea so I won the daily prize of …(chocolate) and I scored 500 bonus points in the Cup of the Imagination. I am second in my company and 55th in the city. Rankings keep changing drastically every single day so I am trying to stay on point and get creative everyday with my imagination.

I’ve always felt it this way. Work is the most important thing in life. Work comes first. Nothing comes easy. Hard work pays off. I have heard all these things since I was a child. My mother always knew best so I went with all her golden advices that served my life so well. I never saw it the other way. Everything has its’ place on this planet. I had my own as well defined by my work and family. Why would I let my imagination go crazy and come up with crazy ideas when I have other more important things to do? It used to be that way. Until recently. I had no idea that life can be so unjoyable and fun. Now I spend even more time with my family. I hang out with my friends at work and we share our ideas, passions, travel experiences, and troubles as well. They let me know what they cooked for dinner that blew their minds away so now I can surprise my family with it. I do not have to waste time reading news in the morning because it is being read to me while I do my morning routine. I do not have to go to the mall to buy new pants or running shoes because I will get them when I really need them with a timely offer I get based on my lifestyle (unless it is a special occasion, then my closet connects with a retail store that reviews my style and picks what will make me satisfied and delivers when I need it). I can do work from wherever I am and I can be wherever I want. Yesterday I decided to sit in a small trattoria in Campo de’ Fiori district in Rome where I finished that important project for one of my clients. All that done while watching lovely people enjoying the sun and eating gelato. Also my grocery shopping got so much less time-consuming and enjoyable. I order things that other people from my local community do as well so we reduce the price of everything since it comes in bulk and we get it whenever we run out of a certain item. I have been inspired to be even better self so I get daily mindfulness classes with Dalai Lama and chat about our solar system at NASA’s headquarters (I was always into astronomy). Whenever dark and gloomy days come all I want to do is lay under a thick blanket on my bed, crawled up in an embryo position, drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows, watching movie or reading a book, and eating hot nachos with loads of cheese. That’s what I can do. But you can’t imagine how much I would rather be in a beautiful place with my friends. Having fun, drinking wine, dancing in the moonlight, singing in the rain, and just enjoying life. So this is today’s case. I didn’t even go on the balcony to smell the air. I was already discouraged to leave bed when I opened my eyes and saw the weather outside. Why am I so dependant on weather? It sometimes drives me crazy because my body just does not want to function on these kind of days. The moment I questioned my life choices today, it turned out it does not have to be this way anymore. I missed this feeling for so long. I have been talking about signing up for yoga classes for weeks now and I still haven’t done it. Now it turns out it wasn’t just me, it was also 20 people I know. Guess what? We just all decided do some yoga tonight. And it is all done from the comfort of your own place. I am on my yoga mat in my room while Kate is doing chaturanga in her’s. Since it was such a gloomy day we decided to stir things up and do some yoga in a remote Sri Lanka’s Ayurveda centre. I feel great that I didn’t complain all day about how terrible I’ve been feeling. And because it was 20 of us we scored 200 points as a group that lets us now pick more exclusive places next time. Oh, and once we get to 2000 we get a dinner and a spa treatment at a Shangri-La Hotel! I just saw I can score points by myself as well on a daily basis. Those come from any other challenges that are connected with new experiences and serendipity throughout changing my daily routine. From now on, I can be an individual who gets pleasure based on what I want and where I want it. And it unlocks even more pleasurable experiences.

right meow Oh those morning itchings behind the right ear. I hope it’s not fleas. Otherwise it will just get worse and worse. Gonna stay positive for now and just wash my fur on the back. I think I neglected it lately and I don’t want my lady to be unimpressed with me. I love when she scratches my back and cuddles with me on the couch. The belly rub... I could stay like that for hours. Oh and she poured the milk in my bowl. Sometimes she leaves the underwear drawer open which feels amazing. I then crawl up quietly in there and sleep for hours. Sleeping in a pile of underwear is just amazing. There is this big monster living in our house which makes scary sounds as if it was so suck the world in. My lady uses it once every while. This arm extension of hers is collecting everything that is laying on the floor and leaves no victims behind. I almost feel that if our paths ever crossed it would suck me in as well into this big gorge. I will stay away for ever. There’s times when she calls me as I am lying comfortably on the chair across the room. She really thinks I’m gonna move myself just to go over there and make her feel happy? And there’s times when she doesn’t even have to call me because I know that the sounds coming from the kitchen are like screaming my name. Dinner time! From time to time there’s this red dot showing up on the floor. It must be some sort of sorcery. I managed to catch it once for 15 seconds or so but it was gone the moment I took my paws away from it. Most of the times I am just lying down on the couch next to my lady and giving her a bath when it shows up on the floor. I don’t wait too long and I am already on the floor getting ready for a jump to catch it. But then it moves and I keep running after it. I remember a few times when a big ball of wool would just fall from the sky on the floor. It is always too tempting not to kick it and get in between my paws so whatever I’m doing I am dropping it and run hectically and attack it. I am always a winner, obviously.

At home I was reading a book when I got a pop-up message on my phone saying: Have you ever tried walking with a book on your head? How about two? ‘When was the last time you were playing in a ball pit?’ Let me think… Probably when I was 7. The thought itself bringing all the memories back is a heartwarming experience for me. I put the phone down but 10 seconds later I am getting another question: ‘Would you like to play now?’. Of course! Who wouldn’t! Just purely having fun in this crazy playground. And then the next message comes up: ‘Join Sean and Miranda and make that ball pit yours’. I’m in. We connect through our mobile phones or tablets and start from scratch. Each of us has a screen filled with a 3D view of a room, a blank search query, and a merged, personalized list of feelings that were transferred from each of ours iFeel app. Miranda types in first. She searches raspberry pudding and picks joy. Sean looked up Rubik’s cube and went with rekindle. I decided on windmill and mystery. The final result: the view of the room zooms up and creates a beautiful content we just created. This beautiful, colourful , rotatable and vibrating space filled in with these funny looking foamy raspberry-like shapes. It looks like something I have never seen before. It makes me feel absolutely awesome how technology can create such a content nowadays with my own content. Now we get to second round if we want to continue. We can dive into this beautiful labyrinth we just made and play a game in that world with us being the players. Let’s play!

I take power naps every day. It gives me energy and helps me getting work done in the evening. And they used to be just naps.. But now they let me connect with myself on a new level. It is a deep spiritual journey that has a complete new level. I can almost say that taking a nap is my favourite time of the day. Every time I wake up I gain some new knowledge. Every time I wake up everything seems to be pleasurable. It turns out when I am not conscious, in reality I am more conscious than I used to be. Those naps let me temporarily get into my deeper self and reevaluate daily life and routine. Yesterday I was able to retrieve one of my worst habits of smoking and turned it into a self-rewarding activity: playing puzzles. Being so excited about completing the whole set I went on the same journey today except there was double the pieces in my puzzle set. Then a couple of days ago I ended up in Nike Lab and learned about its’ new technology used for dying textiles. It ended up with me creating my own jersey that was using some sort of algorithm gained from that day for picking the material and colour of it. It was this very harsh in touch material and the pattern on it was a red line that was just a chaotic mess. It reflected how stressful my life is and it was then that I realized how much I need these naps for regaining my inner peacefulness. I’m glad I know that now.

Food is something I always wanted to know more about. There’s internet and tons of books about that topic but I can hardly find time to workout so I don’t have time to research that stuff more. And basically those two sources are just reproducing someone else’s work. I’m an active person. I love making, doing, interacting. So lately I have been using my phone as a space activator that lets me learn about whatever I want. I used it while cooking yesterday. Just hovered above the tomatoes I got a few days ago and I got a beautiful infographic about where my tomatoes came from, what nutrients they have, what other ingredients have the same benefits, and it was followed by a short animation of the same tomatoes talking about their journey to my place. I loved the last part, the Q&A. Essentially, I could ask the tomatoes whatever I want. Next time I will be more prepared for this. Next time I will try it with my running shoes. I wanna know about different surfaces and how my feet react to them while wearing this particular model.

Coming back from work today was the best part of the day. I had a big presentation this afternoon which went really great. But past few days were so busy I barely got any sleep and ate like a baby. No wonder my body is exhausted now and mind and soul are looking for some excitement and happiness. I ended up taking a longer way home to breathe some fresh air than I usually do. And then I saw it. Big bold colourful advertisement at a streetcar stop screaming words: 4D MAZE! I just realized it changes with pretty much every person approaching it. So now, it was filled my own data that collected my latest thought. And oh did I love it. A sudden moment of awe and all my energy was back in place. The 4D maze was just what I wanted to do. My phone was ready to go with it and connected through an app to the service to accept it. It then picked me up from my house and took me straight to the place where I had most fun ever for another 2 hours or so. After I felt like having a bag of popcorn which I was offered upon competing my maze. Didn’t even have to mention it. Feels weird when my thoughts are transferred into real life without me taking any action. Ended that day with watching a movie “A Beautiful Mind”. I wanted to know more about Dr. Nash so my browser opened a page with his biography that was laid out in a way that looked appealing to my preferences and favourite colours. And it had some beautiful infographics I could play with. I am all in.

Now he is on his way for a workout and has his outfit ready in the changing room. Back at home all he dreams about is a cup of peppermint tea. Online service connects him to neighbours in his condo and sends the information who is willing to share right away. He picks up a few tea bags and gives a bar of Hershey’s chocolate in return, as the other person requested. Just a small desire which unlocks the world se he can fulfill it anytime, anywhere. Now just before going to bed he takes a relaxing shower under the stars on Cuban beach, giving him the feeling of peacefulness he has been craving all day. I’m gonna tell you a story. It’s about a person who lives in a big city. A typical citysumer, one who has to pay bills, take care of the loved ones, make food, work and more. First, I want you to picture this person’s daily routine: getting up from the bed, brushing teeth, making breakfast, checking e-mail and news, drinking coffee, buttoning up the shirt straight from that new store on X Street. On the way to work his phone tells him there is traffic ahead and he should turn left to avoid it. Work goes smoothly as per usual: hours in a small cubicle, lunch with co-workers in a new place in the food court resulting with a photo on Instagram, checking Facebook every now and then to check up on other friends. Late evening dinner at home followed by a date in a movie. Back at home just to take shower and go to sleep. I’m sure you know this life already. That feeling of doing a machine-like movements and actions, being surrounded by social-media, being dependant on your boss, not really having time for fun, living under stress. Now I want you to picture the same person waking up in the morning and loving the fact to be up so early despite the nasty weather outside. The phone woke him up with his favourite song back in his 20’s which he almost forgot about. He does his daily routine and checks phone for any important updates. A pop-up message shows up letting him know he just earned X points for getting up so fast today which totals in eligibility to try kickboxing class. Thing he always wanted to do but never made time for it. A voice message shows up on his phone which he listens to before starting work. A subtle voice tells him “enjoy your day” with a song in the background that is from a similar artist to his most played one on iTunes. He can download it on his phone right away. While at work his watch vibrates every 25 minutes to let him know it is time to take a break and drink water. It also prompts him with a questionnaire which always consists of two words or images making him pick one that speaks more at the exact moment. While on his way to lunch, he gets excited to see he already walked more than yesterday. He picked what ingredients he wants to eat today and ordered his meal while still sitting at his desk. He gets lunch based on his preferences and selections at one of the food court restaurants. Watch vibrates again: he earns another X points for making today’s lunch

In a network where no internet system matters anymore, where WiFi routers became obsolete, where once biggest oil and economy industries on this planet went bankrupt because they were no longer needed, where the world became free of objects having no value, we are finally free and it is possible to live through its’ all channels. Welcome to year 2035, the year where the human being and the knowledge is valued more than ever before. The year where all the human potential is used to its fullest meaning. The year, where the humans mind, heart, and will, is the value and the exchange currency. I have the privilege of representing the community of people who once did not know how much potential they carry. We used to think we were only bodies made out of perfectly connected multiple organs. We used to imagine that that we were born to do more than fill out forms and follow the rules. We used to mindlessly follow the leaders. However, the beauty of humanity is its rebelled nature. And I am sure I would not be where I am if it was not for it. And I am really thankful to all my ancestors for this shaman spirit still being around us and having the power to overrule and overcome the archaic and corrupt systems. Letter from a mother

Dear Lucy, Words cannot describe what a mother feels when she sees her child for the first time. Your presence is giving promise and hope to all of us for a better future. And as a parent, I obviously want to make sure our tomorrow will be better than today so you can live fully and happy while exploring and doing what you love mostly. And the current situation is definitely letting you become whoever you want wherever you want on whatever conditions you set. It is not up to anyone where you end up with your education, you make those choices. My hopes for more powerful generations and transparency in companies were always highly staked. It leaves me in tears now when I think about all those important dates in the past 4 decades that changed our lives so dramatically. You will live in a beautiful global community filled with so many beautiful souls with open minds just like yours. It wasn’t always like this. In 2015, Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg, wrote “Today we are robbed of the potential so many have to offer. The only way to achieve our full potential is to channel the talents, ideas and contributions of every person in the world.” Thanks to such people like him we are now where we are. You will grow into this world full of exposed potentials. Our knowledge, once only curated by the books and conservative teachers in hermetic and secular school environments, is now a tangible resource, just like our freedom is. I used to dream about having the special power to swallow the books in a second. I used to dream about futuristic cities where people benefit from each other on a daily basis. I used to dream about a culture of knowledge and possibility as the highest value. I used to dream about taking selfguided intrinsic trips to discover why I felt the way I did with no understanding. Now all these dreams are my reality. The technology rocketed when I was graduating from my university. At first it was only a training for humanity to see the reactions. And since they were absolutely successful (it evoked and empowered multiples of people who came up with the most advanced solutions in so many realms of living at the time) they grew into serving almost quarter of this planet. The once- service is now a system. Our knowledge particles can give mass to anything we want. Our ideas can be spreaded in an instant. You can’t even imagine how much of an advancement this is compared to my youth. I will also not be able to explain to you the process everyone had to go through: the process of wiping one’s mind, heart, and will from previous education. That long journey is still in process for some people, it a very personalized experience and it is only up to the user how much effort he will put it and how fast let go of the past. You are born into the world where your ideas are the highest value in the community. You will notice while becoming more and more aware of the surrounding and circumstances, that humans exist on a few levels at the same time: cognitive, occupational and spiritual. The tri-self allows us to master all our sides while maintaining everyday living. Through the newly developed devices I am thinking of all the words I want to write in this letter while it composes itself, and in the meantime I am breastfeeding you. And trust me, I am focused on both as much as possible. The human spirit unfolds in a curved but confident way. That fragile but tenacious movement has a dual nature, as it reveals some parts and hides the other ones at the same time. This distortion makes us susceptible to any subject matter and context in which we tend to find ourselves. There is no one ‘me’, there is no real ‘me’. It is a distorted image creating a variety of perceptions while there is only one true answer, the origin. Our awareness playing one of the most fundamental roles in the process of exposing one’s identity, is a matter of how accurately we can retrieve our latent needs, and how intimately we want to link our presence with the past and future, the chain of the evolution every spirit carries on.

There are limits to our perception. We have been struggling with a thorough perception of personal elemental values, the mind-independent and amorphous or shapeless definitions. Being confined by modern structures, forms, frameworks, codes, formations, boundaries, systems we have to follow we are bound to fit within them. It is essentially a degradation of our creativity, imagination, remote areas of our minds and mental possibilities. That being said, our spirits and latent identities are capable of opening our inner-selves towards new possibilities, creating new angles of overcoming hindrances and boundaries, feeling what is underneath, sensing what is not exposed. If intuition is exposed to a much a greater matter it becomes more flexible and fluid, which means it has more ease with adaptation, inversion, and prowess. It is clearly illustrated when looking at children who are only directed by their intuition and they carry an omni-present fluidity in expressing creativity, having no boundaries in revealing their real archetypes. This is the real manifestation of what one’s spirit is and that it is closely connected to the distant areas of the mind. There is no accumulation of the unused and pristine personal traces as they are all revealed in the process and experience.

This is the most flourishing field for ideas to grow and possibilities to emerge. The curated story is a narrative that retrieves what is true and crucial to you (the daily key metrics and your input), letting you sprout through your Psyche in all dimensions following Freud’s understanding of the three component of the psychic apparatus (id, ego, super-ego). It is not attempting to show you your being and having but it is more about becoming and retrieving. The daily accumulation of one’s experiences are ephemeral and these are what creates a context in this realm. These wish-fantasies and the physical areas are the messages and nodes for the ever-present fertile soil of imagination: only reached through creativity and only deepened by engagement. And the key is to leverage this because we are given the ability to dream beyond our vision. Our body is our prison and our will is a home. It is pure and innocent and it has endless roots that are not easily retrieved. And if dreams can bring these roots to us while being unconscious, then these stories can do the same to our awoken selves.

As a way to create more dynamic narratives that capture the attention of audiences and spectators, it is creator’s’ job to combine traditional storytelling techniques with digital and physical experiences design to engage a variety of senses. The question is, who do you want to be? The spectator or the creator? This dimension is a collective part for exploring one through the eyes of another, reminiscing the famous now word from zulu - ubuntu [me through your eyes]. It carries a deep meaning as it comes from the intrinsic self and needs clarity of one’s spirit.

While traditional notions of identity still persuade much of today’s cultural landscape, there has been a growing movement to celebrate humans diversity in the mind, heart, and will. It is manifested on a variety of levels - through retail, sports, design (manufacturing and packaging), fashion, marketing and more. Brands just recently started realizing it and implementing into the core values that they sell. But this is just the top of the iceberg. People disclose only their active side while the passive inhibitor stays under the water. This is strictly tied to the consciousness which is linked to the context one happens to be surrounded by. Only a small part of the iceberg is visible to one’s eyes since it is above the surface, the rest remains submerged and is not present. That huge mass beholds all the latency and potential one is carrying. However, since it is the conscious mind that leads the role in people’s lives the circumstances and chances of revealing what is deep down are really low. That consciousness is a steering wheel of passiveness and uncertainty. Even though, as portrayed as a leading and dominating aspect, one could think that this knowledgeable agent does not imply, it actually knows. However, understanding is far away from knowledge, and it is this understanding that triggers the best potential. Just as everything else, this potential is made out of certain components: inspiration, intuition, and imagination. All of these have to do with the intrinsic values and communicating them in a unique way. They are strictly tied to senses. A series of narratives exploring the landscape of one’s mindfield. Through small individual fragments the primary function is to transform the state of being. In other words the behavioural extinction is the process of approaching a prejudiced individual, and through micro moments create a state of fragmentation, leading to an alignment formed from new values. It is a burning to ashes process which carries on the intrinsic value of one-of-a-kind, self-mentored metamorphosis turning one into a catalyst full of potential and possibility. Releasing the actual surrounding space becomes a re-interpreted equivalent of the latent needs. This landscape decomposure is an infinite intangible material-turned-into-apperception, progressively increasing the inversion of understanding the world and the dominant systems. These miniature and ephemeral nodes collected over time build the new natural replacement of the previous mindset: the latent ethos. The moment we abandon our confined perception based on daily biases, regulations and schemes, we may find ourselves in a place of disorientation. On the other hand, the creative ritual is a lab of discovering and measuring capability and finding sources to benefit from it. The built narratives induce incremental process of desiring mastery & pleasure addressing influx of knowledge with a strategy, service, technology as the foundation. UNLEARNING To embark in the pursuit of new experience we must redesign the key touch points making life a social project. This basic premise of unlearning is the entry point into this knowledge economy and retrieval destination. This leaves a few opportunities to figure out how to approach this position and reinvent the story. Unlearning is almost like an experiment but a controlled one. It is just like playing used to be, playing for its own value; built based on what it should be addressing and exploring. Coming from the premise that if there is agency in the play, it can also be learned in one’s life. It only needs some instructions. Unlearning is maintained on four orbits: reset, reimagine, transform, understand (The Orbit Framework on the next page). Exploring possibilities to obtain information and transform it into a modern way of thinking and foresight strategy. Being in the age of ambition, optimism, and radical, positive transformation (ideacouture) we can only look into tomorrow for the correct answers and recipes for betterment. Strategic thinking gives opportunity for that and creates a knowledge community which only certain individuals are part of. The concept in the project is based on the idea of letting the users become better and realize their potential. Through this filter the proposal is strictly connected to the mindsets of people since that is what makes the value to be expanded on. As the creator of ideas the project gives meaning and content clearly outlined with smooth implementation.

The service is the owner of the toolbox of skills and and the database of the crossindustry insights. It gives access to a broad key innovations and highlights the issues and strategies in a form of aggregator. The content given to the user is optimized for the personal use and can be streamlined to fit the purpose. Through providing these experiential tools users will be able to become closer with their intellectual potential.


The disclosure framework represents the position of the concept on the business model canvas diagram developed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management. In their study they discovered and formulated that there is four basic business model archetypes that exist in current economy. The four archetypes are creator, distributor, landlord and broker. (sourced from smallbusiness.chron.com) According to this framework I analyzed my project and critically defined its value and proposal.

The theory of intellectual self, human life becomes flexible and transient as a ‘give and take’. Very strictly tied to technology as a medium for becoming. New machine-learning approaches highlight how research into human cognition could shape the future of artificial intelligence. This artificial intelligence is the future key to understand the cognition and the main feature to be expanded to allow people get to the higher states of selves and inversion, meaning unlearning and seeing opportunity. This theory explores new ways to understand, recontextualize and redistribute data. Entropy is a state of knowledge where the self is everready to reach the deepest resources of intelligence and communicate them. This contextualized data for inspiring communities and innovation can be triggered for collaborations and accumulate intellectual property to be shared. Entropy opens and transforms redirecting the resources and knowledge enablers into experiential presence and behaviours.

The entropy methodology has also to do with the space and environment. Turning them into phygital surrounding, they will adapt to the person’s data. The result is a quantified space, ready to perform, respond, reconnect, influence. Entropy is a knowledge portal. It is a holistic approach for personal growth and self-actualization. Framework based on four axis in respect to life nodes and agents identifying personality. Since the feeling-thinking/ introvertextrovert did not really work for me with its scope, I decided to apply all dimensions for personality assets that Myers and Briggs defined. The name of the unit comes from the fact how the framework is represented here. I assigned each point of the journey map (specific shape) to a point on each axis and formed a clear positioning of the user throughout the whole process and while using the proposed service. I also decided to use the whole framework and all descriptors since my project looks very deeply into one’s personality and identity. This way I could explore all the deepest variables of one. The four two-polar dimensions are: • thinking-feeling • extrovert-introvert • sensing-intuition • judging-perceiving
