Exhibit Design

Van Dyke McCarthy's model of AlaskaNaldez Visitor Center buildings is 1/a'' scale . Halsted & Muramatsu's Sanyo trade show model is intended to show the major exhibit elements and overall plan at W' scale. %"scale model of permanent exhibit for Raychem Corporation by Larry Klein of Bright & Agate. Made of PVC tube and sheet, an easy material to cut, assemble and finish , this scale model was 30" x 60" and was in two pieces to ease handling . Barry Howard 's AT&T model studies forms and typography at 1" scale. Ramirez & Woods' study models of two large exhibits , one for South Carolina's Tricentennial Exhibition in 3/1s" scale and the dome for the International Communications Agency (formerly U.S.I.A.) in 3/e" scale clearly show structures, but can only indicate exhibit elements at these smaller scales .

Pentagram Papers , the design firm 's publication , featured a series of Bruce Davidson 's photographs of architecture in the Madison Square area with a poetic commentary by Theo Crosby and a cover three-dimensional map with keys to orient each photograph to the location of the New York Pentagram office . Four of Davidson 's photographs are shown here: the Flatiron Build ing , 1902; Metropolitan Life Building, 1909; 225 Fifth Avenue , 1907; St. James Building , 1897.
