Mehdi Saeedi
Location: I am from Iran and live north of Tehran. Duration: I began my artistic work for museums, exhibitions and magazines from 1997, and I have been working in my own workshop from 2000. Staff: Now one person works in my workshop . Education: I studied in Malek Ashtar School of Art and after that I graduated from a graphic design course at Cambridge University in England. Cultural Influences: Everybody lives and grows with his country's culture and must refer to it to gain a considerable development in art, but I did not pay any attention to it so that everyone who watched my artwork didn't find any connection between it and our culture. One of the main reasons was my studies and research at foreign graphic schools (Westernization) . They influenced my mind and methods in cultural aspects, but it's been two years that I'm researching and applying the local and folklore visual principles of my country-so that I succeeded to win the special award of the International Biennial of the Poster in Mexico.

Environment: I begin to work every morning in a relaxed environment, working in the workshop is so enjoyable that sometimes I stay working three or four hours after nightfall. Philosophy: In my posters, I try to use intelligible and interesting symbols. I use a special Persian typography as a visual character that is my own design .
