RACEnergy, a leading battery swapping company, announced its swappable batteries received the Automotive Industry Standard (AIS) 156 Phase 2 certification, one of the highest global battery standards. RACEnergy was one of the first battery swapping company to pass the new certification requirements after the testing was completed at ARAI. It represents a significant improvement over AIS 048 in terms of thermal, mechanical, and electrical performance safety measures. The new accreditation requires highly competent engineering in the battery’s development, including study in heat transfer, material science, electrical circuit design, and knowledge of cell chemistry behaviour. As we strive to increase consumer confidence in EV adoption, we remain dedicated to implementing the highest safety standards in all our products and services. The battery packs are also mandatorily IP67 compliant making it resistant to water and dust ingression, making it safer than before.” Even if a cell or group of cells rapidly reaches temperatures beyond 300°C, the battery is now internally safeguarded from catching fire.
