COMMUNIST UNIVERSITY OF THE NORTH 2011 Three years after the first Communist University of the North in Keswick, Cumbria, the second such event is to be held in Leeds on 3 September 2011. As before, the University is open to all genuinely interested people. There are no admission requirements – except a willingness to participate – and no qualifications will be awarded. However, we can guarantee a rewarding and stimulating experience, grappling with key ideas facing society today.

Walking directions from Leeds City Rail Station: Go straight north on New Station St, then Park Row; cross the Headrow and turn left at Great George St; continue to the end of Great George St, cross the motorway by the footbridge and then turn left into Woodhouse Square. Swarthmore Centre is on the left. If arriving by car from the north or east: Take A58(M) and exit from it for Park Lane/A58; turn right onto A58, then right onto Park Lan/eA58; continue to follow Park Lane then turn right onto Hanover Way; continue onto Woodhouse Square; Swarthmore Centre is on the right. If arriving by car from the south or west: Take M621, A643 and A58 and continue onto A58(M); at Park Lane/A58 exit turn left onto Park Lane then as above. NB There is no parking at the Centre and on-street parking is likely to be very limited; but there are car parks within 5 minutes walking on Park Lane and Burley Street.
