“Blaenafon is suffering because of the greed of big business. We need to start forcing the rich to contribute towards all sections of the community by Developing a local wealth tax to replace council tax taking into account ability to pay. Bringing significant sections of the economy into public ownership. Taxing the super rich on their profits, savings and offshore bank accounts to raise enough money to start tackling poverty.”
Reopening and upgrading the local hospital. Renovating and putting to social use the now derelict Beeches nursing home. Organising a bank with a cash machine for the town of Blaenafon to replace the closure of the HSBC bank on May 11th. Building new houses that are affordable or free to live in. Repairing and renovating empty properties. The creation and retention of jobs throughout the borough as this is an essential part of stopping government plans to impoverish the country. Improved public transport with regular bus services to and from Forgeside

Communist Policies for Blaenafon
No Cuts! Tax the Rich
Your Communist candidate
What a shower! The four major political parties in Wales are all agreed that cuts in our public services are necessary. The Con Dem government and Labour before them have handed over fourteen hundred billion pounds of public money to the richest and most irresponsible sector in society - the banks, and now they want us to pay
for it!
We are seeing cuts in all front line provision from education to social services
Cuts in emergency services such as the fire service
Cuts in public sector wages and pensions Cuts in benefits and the unconditional right to benefits
Attacks on the most vulnerable in society such as disabled workers and young people
A large part of the Welsh economy is in the public sector so these cuts are hitting Wales much harder than other areas of Britain and this is just the beginning.
You couldn’t make it up While public sector wages are frozen the top bosses are awarding themselves 50% pay increases. Yet they expect unemployed young people to work for free to
help boost their profits. The bosses are even proposing cutting the number of bank holidays we have despite us having the least in Europe already.
None of this is necessary We are the sixth richest country in the world and easily have enough resources to provide
jobs for all, decent wages and conditions
for all,
reasonable benefits and pensions for all
No Cuts! Tax the Rich!

Communist
We need to stop subsidising the rich by allowing them to avoid paying tax, scrounging off the state when they go bust and abandoning the communities they locate in whenever they see somewhere cheaper to move to. We say that it is time the rich started to contribute toward society instead of ripping it off. We live in one of the most unequal societies in Europe because the major parties are more concerned with keeping the noses of the rich in the trough while the rest of us tighten our belts.
Don’t waste your vote on more of the same!
