FIXING A STUFFY NOSE AND SNORING
QUESTION: My nose is always stuffy, worse on one side. And not only that...I am told by my spouse that I snore loud! What can I do?
ANSWER: Your best bet is a full evaluation by an ENT specialist who can determine what is causing your nasal obstruction and the most effective treatment. Often, once the nasal breathing is restored, the loud snoring is then diminished or even eliminated. There are several steps necessary for a thorough exam:
HISTORY: Questioning the patient about previous trauma to the nose and also anything that may cause chronic swelling inside the nasal cavity like recurrent sinus infections, allergies and overuse of intranasal sprays such as Afrin.
EXAM: Fiberoptic scope of the nose and throat to look for septal deviations, polyps, abnormal enlargements of other intranasal structures, and draining secretions which can be cultured. Check the external nasal structure for cartilage collapse that can result in a valve obstruction. Also allergy tests, home sleep studies and CT scans if indicated.
TREATMENT: Customized to the patient’s cause of obstruction. Can be as simple as a regimen of intranasal and oral medications or more complex involving surgical procedures.
ADVANCED SURGICAL TREATMENT: The latest techniques allow for quick recovery, no bruising, more precise repairs and open breathing immediately after surgery. Technology has improved with the use of 4K camera/monitors and microscopic visualization, laser guided infrared navigation and new methods and instrumentation for septum repair, turbinate reduction, valve collapse reconstruction and sinus blockage. Rhinoplasty techniques have also advanced and can often be performed at the same time if there are external nasal cosmetic concerns.

It takes more than knowledge of a disease to cure it. Particularly for one as complicated and prevalent as Multiple Sclerosis. To raise public awareness, fund resources and provide information, and make progress toward cures, March 9 - 15 has been dubbed MS Awareness Week. Across Monmouth County, individuals and businesses are bringing awareness to this cause and making a difference. Here’s just a couple examples:
Single Parents with Multiple Sclerosis
Darrell Wordelmann is the founder of Single Parents with MS, a charity foundation that supports families whose primary caregiver has been diagnosed with MS. After Wordelmann’s mother passed from MS in 2000, brothers Darrell and Bobby knew that they were fortunate to not be left without any other family members following her passing. Supporting Single Parents with MS allows them to provide families in need with support for the holidays, ADA equipment, meals, renovations, financial assistance, and more.

The hunt for an MS Cure continues with Cardinale
Vito Cardinale has supported those with MS and has funded relief (and a goal of a cure) with the Linda E. Cardinale Multiple Sclerosis Center in Freehold. Now, he aims high with secondary education, with the Linda E. Cardinale High School – growing it into a college campus and full research center, taking his efforts to the next level.
Mr. Cardinale’s vision for the school stems from a deep understanding that breakthrough medical discoveries often emerge from interdisciplinary collaboration and fresh perspectives. By creating an educational environment that combines rigorous scientific training with real-world research experience, Mr. Cardinale aims to inspire and equip young minds with the tools they need to tackle complex medical challenges. The school’s emphasis on solutions-based education and interdisciplinary approaches reflects Vito’s belief that curing neurological diseases, including MS, will require new ways of thinking and novel approaches to medical research, cultivated from an early age.
The Linda E. Cardinale Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Center, located at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, New Jersey, is a regional leader in diagnosing and treating multiple sclerosis. The center offers integrated, comprehensive care, including accurate diagnostics, emerging therapies, access to renowned physicians, and robust wellness programs to help patients manage their condition effectively.
The center’s multidisciplinary team is led by neurologists specializing in MS: Dr. Amos Katz, Dr. Carne Marks, and Dr. Jasmin Patel. These experts are supported by physician assistants, occupational and physical therapists, and speech and language pathologists. The center also provides specialized services from physiatrists and urologists to address various aspects of MS care.
The Linda E. Cardinale MS Center offers a unique 12week wellness program designed to address the physical and psychological challenges associated with MS. Selling the Dream Ocean resident Gino Dellomo on what makes his hometown so special

In my talks with Monmouth County business owners and residents, there’s a common thread: A sense of community and a love for our corner of the state. Longtime Ocean Township resident Gino Dellomo discusses what it means to live in Monmouth, and why he can’t ever imagine leaving.
Dellomo was born and raised in Ocean Township and currently works as a manager at Shrewsbury Volkswagen. He acknowledges the differences between how the town is presently versus when he was a kid.
“As our population is growing, we have new people coming in and people that are leaving. There’s a transition going on. It’s one of the best places you can live in.” He notes Ocean’s fantastic residents, school systems, and how family-oriented it is. Ocean Township famously has a superb school system, something that Dellomo takes part in, his two children (aged 11 and 13) are enrolled in the Ocean schools just as their dad was. Dellomo personally attended Wanamassa Elementary – where Joe Palaia was his principal.
“We have a lot of great educators in our school system that care deeply about our kids. There’s a lot of parent interaction. I went through the ranks of the school system, and my kids are thriving with that.”
After going through the OT school district, Dellomo jumped right into his career selling cars. At age 19, he sought a management position. After being told that a management position at his age was impossible, he sold cars for six months and was able to achieve his original goal.
Dellomo jokes that when he began working, the car industry was akin to the Wild West.
“The industry had the reputation of the old school, car salesman type thing,” he notes. Such a reputation led to many people entering the store with anxiety and trepidation. “When I started, there was a lot of screaming and yelling. Managers didn’t respect their sales people or other managers. In today’s climate, things have evolved for the better. The dealership I work at is customer oriented. We’re extremely friendly; we’re a no pressure store. We’re not gonna pressure you into purchasing a car if you’re not ready. We look forward to people coming back.”
Being the manager at Shrewsbury Volkswagen, Dellomo prioritizes training his salespeople in order
to give the customer the best experience. “I make sure they have the right information. Answering a customer’s question with the right information is important; if you don’t know the answer, you’ll figure it out.” Shrewsbury Volkswagen also prides itself on its high customer satisfaction. “[Buying a car] should be fun, not stressful. A lot of times, people come in with their guard up and leave with their guard down. They leave not just as customers, but as friends.”
Dellomo is happy to note that some customers are on their tenth car with Shrewsbury Volkswagen. This friendly atmosphere that the team at Shrewsbury has cultivated is what makes them both stand out from the competition and thrive, with 60% of their business being from a referral.
He credits this success to the teamwork of his staff. “When I started,” Dellomo recalls, “the culture was very different. If a customer walked in and everyone was busy, sometimes that customer wouldn’t get acknowledged. Our staff is trained to stop what they’re doing, acknowledge a customer, and alert management. If you have a good management team and they train their departments properly, you’ll get the best results.”
For Dellomo, the friendly and well-rounded atmosphere at his workplace is reflected in the overall vibe of the Monmouth County, and Ocean Township in particular. “It’s a great place to live in – it’s the best county in the state of New Jersey. Ocean is one big community, but we have several other communities within it. We have Ocean, but we also have Wayside, Wanamassa, Oakhurst, Colonial Terrace, West Deal, West Allenhurst – lots of different communities. I look at Monmouth as the same thing. It’s one umbrella as a community, but also individual ones. They all strive for the same thing — to do well and raise a family.”
Dellomo is happy to say that 2024 ended well and he expects 2025 is to be extremely successful, with a lot to look forward to as a whole and calls for it to be a year of positivity.
“I think we need some positive reinforcement out there. People need to spend more time getting out and engag-
ing each other.” He notes, though, that living in a town like Ocean makes that easy, with a plethora of great community events and amenities, with Joe Palaia park featuring several festivals and events for kids and seniors alike.
Something that also sets Monmouth apart, in Dellomo’s eyes, is the involvement of our local political leaders. “I see a lot of bipartisanship, which I’m a big fan of. It should be that way everywhere you go. It’s what makes a county thrive.”
Ocean Township Native Wins Super Bowl Ring
Congratulations to Ocean Township native Kenny Pickett, who won a Super Bowl ring with the Philadelphia Eagles Championship Team! Pickett, who currently serves as the second-string quarterback for the Eagles, was born in the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, New Jersey. He attended Ocean Township High School and graduated in 2017. Pickett led the Ocean Township Spartans to the New Jersey Central Group III semifinal game as a junior, leading his team to a 9–2 record. 247Sports ranked Pickett as the No. 23 overall high school football player in
New Jersey in his senior year. During his high school career, he passed for 4,670 yards with 43 touchdowns and rushed for 873 yards and 17 touchdowns.
During Super Bowl LIX, Pickett managed to enter the game in the final minutes, closing out a victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

West Long Branch Police Officer Rescues Boy from Frozen Lake
At 2:41 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, police received a call reporting that a child had fallen through the ice at Franklin Lake in West Long Branch. West Long Branch Police Department Patrolman
Dave Brosonski was the first officer on the scene. Brosonski, who is highly trained in water rescue, arrived to find the child stranded in the middle of the lake. Without hesitation, he entered the frigid water and successfully rescued the 11-year-old boy.
The West Long Branch Police Department is deeply grateful for Officer Brosonski’s swift and heroic actions, as well as for the community members who quickly alerted authorities. Chief Botti would also like to recognize the West Long Branch Emergency Medical Services and the West Long Branch Fire Department for their response.

MMC Wellness Center in Eatontown to Host Screening Event for Young Athletes
MOcean Township Track Star Breaks Record
onmouth Medical Center (MMC) is hosting a free cardiac & concussion screening event for young athletes this March.
In collaboration with the RWJBH Matthew J. Morahan III Health Assessment Center for Athletes, join us on Saturday, March 8, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a cardiac and concussion screening program for youth. Appointments are required but the screenings are entirely free. Cardiac screenings are open to athletes 6 to 18 and concussion screenings for those 5 to 18. The event will take place at MMC’s Wellness Center in Eatontown, the LiveWell Center, located at 200 Wyckoff Rd, Suite 1200, Eatontown, NJ 07724.

Q: What do you love about teaching, and what keeps you coming back each day?
A: Being a very inquisitive person, what attracted me to teaching was the opportunity to impart knowledge to others. I truly love to learn, so I have always enjoyed inspiring others to be curious and to want to understand the world around them. My kids keep me coming back every day. A class is like a family, and I love my kids. Some days are very challenging, but every morning feels like a fresh start, an opportunity to work together and have a great day. I truly love going to work!
Q: What is the most challenging thing about working with kids?
A: The most challenging thing about working with kids is trying to teach and relate to humans with so many different personalities and on varied developmental levels. Young children (I teach 3rd grade) are just learning how to be independent and have some self-awareness so I have to adjust my approach to each of them as opposed to having the same expectations for all of them. Keeping a large group of young students engaged and inspired is a daily challenge.
Q: What was your own school experience like as a kid? Did you enjoy school?
A: I did not love school, although I did extremely well academically and formed friendships that have lasted since kindergarten. As a bright, but shy student, I often felt overlooked by my teachers because I was not comfortable speaking up during class. There were definitely teachers that I loved, probably because I felt that they spoke and taught to everyone, not just the extroverted students. I often think about my own beloved 3rd grade teacher and consider why she was so successful. She is still influencing me, 50 years later.
Q: If you could add one new subject that every kid would have to take in school, what would it be and why?
A: As a person that loves to learn, choosing one new subject is so tough! My immediate thought is that every student should have to learn another language beginning in elementary school. Although it is touched on in some Social Studies curricula, I would love to see geography and cultural awareness as a larger part of the core curriculum. I often use maps with my students and being a very multicultural school, we frequently discuss other cultures. They truly are very interested in this and will even use my maps during free time. If students could graduate with an extensive knowledge and appreciation of the rest of the world, it would be so beneficial to our society. Other ideas include media literacy, financial literacy, life skills, computer coding and technology.
Q: What is the most important thing that your students have taught you?
A: In addition to helping me learn about different cultures and traditions, my students have really taught me how to be more compassionate and empathetic. Children come from so many different home situations and places, but they all need to feel accepted and acknowledged. I have learned that in order to effectively teach, I have to have a class environment where children and their families feel safe, welcomed and loved.

A: My father was a firefighter/ex-chief with Wanamassa. Growing up around the firehouse, I knew as soon as I turned 18, I was going to join the company.
Q: What do you find to be most rewarding about this kind of work?
A: There are so many rewards to this job, with the most important being able to help my neighbors in a time of need.
Q: What is the hardest aspect of the job?
A: Seeing people at the scene of a structure fire that lost everything. It’s heartbreaking. We do our best to help and console the victims during this tragic time.
Q: Do any aspects of the job ever scare you?
A: As a former fire chief, the most concerning or scary part at a fire scene was to make sure all my firefighters were safe and everyone went home.
Q: What was your most memorable experience on the job so far?
A: The most rewarding experience was the time I was partnered up with a Monmouth County Sheriff’s K9 unit searching for a missing person with Alzheimer’s. Thankfully, we located the person in a heavily wooded area and were able to extricate him from the area and reunite him with his family.
Hundreds Show Their Support for LADACIN Plunge
LADACIN Network, a local nonprofit, proudly announced the success of their Annual Plunge, which was held on January 18 and raised over $94,000. Around 200 participants braved the waves to show their support for LADACIN. All proceeds from the event support the J. Michael Hartnett Memorial to benefit LADACIN Network.
Leggetts Sand Bar in Manasquan hosted the party and provided a delicious buffet lunch. Prizes were awarded for the most creative costumes. Contributing to the festive spirit of the occasion, the Pipes and Drums of the Jersey Shore Shillelagh Belmar, traditionally leading the procession to the ocean, played their bagpipes at the party. 95.9 The Rat’s radio personality Gotts entertained the party goers as the long-standing emcee of the LADACIN Plunge.
The event supports LADACIN’s educational, therapeutic, social, residential and support services for over 3,500 infants, children and adults with complex physical and developmental disabilities or delays living in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
Since the Inaugural Plunge 17 years ago, the annual event has raised over 1.4 million dollars. Over the past several years, the proceeds have helped fund the vital programs and services provided to individuals with disabilities.

Cozy Corner memorial dedicated to beloved Ocean Township Librarian

When one imagines a “corner”, they might imagine a part of the room that is frequently passed by, tucked away and unadorned. In a library, it might be home to a bookshelf or an informational stand. However, the Ocean Township Library created something much more meaningful when they decided to honor a pillar of not just the library itself, but of Ocean Township as a community.
On January 25, the Monmouth County Library’s Township of Ocean Branch dedicated “Mrs. Fyfe’s Cozy Corner” to Phyliss Fyfe. Fyfe was born April 19, 1933 in Ridgewood, NJ and passed away peacefully on August 14, 2023. A resident of Oakhurst since 1965, her loss was felt tremendously by her community and coworkers. Dozens of Ocean Township residents attended the dedication ceremony.
The love in the room, for both the library and Mrs. Fyfe, was palpable. Several speakers stood at a podium to offer heartwarming recollections of her. Mary Patterson, Branch Manager and Library of the Ocean Township Library, said: “Phyllis had an unwavering dedication to the Ocean Township Library and her deep belief in the library’s role as a cornerstone of our community. As a library, we strive to be a
place where knowledge is shared, curiosity is nurtured, and connections are made. It is through the vision and commitment of individuals like Phyllis that we continue to fulfill that mission.”
It wasn’t just Fyfe’s work family that treasured the event. Her children, Laura and Bob, attended the event as well. I had a chance to meet Laura, who was ecstatic about the event. She recalled one of her favorite stories about her mother:
“A back-to-school night at Ocean Township Jr. High (now Intermediate School), was running long for the opening statements before the parents split up to go to the individual teachers’ classrooms, and the principal leaned over to my mom and told her she wouldn’t have time to speak. She said she was there, and she had something to say but would keep it brief. She got up, the principal introduced her as the librarian. She looked out from the stage at all the parents and said, ‘Read. Read. Read’ and sat back down. I believe she got the most applause that night. But that was her philosophy, and she was consistent. From the time my brother and I were able to read (about age 4), we were encouraged to read,
read, read! When she re tired after almost 50 years of public service at age 77, she had much more time herself to read and she re ally embraced the idea of the Kindle. She would read a book every day or every other day.”
Mrs. Fyfe’s Cozy Cor ner was helmed by The Friends of the Township of Ocean, an all-volunteer, member supported non profit organization ded icated to supporting and enhancing the programs of the Ocean Library. The corner itself was the result of nearly a year of planning on their part. Board member Barbara Saint John proposed its conception, and after approval from the library staff, the corner came to life. Saint John, at the dedication, said, “For the woman who spent years as a librarian and educator in the school system and served with the Friends as either president or vice president, Phyllis deserved nothing less than an area to be renovated and named in her honor. I like to think the world had Mr. Rogers, but we had our very own Mrs. Fyfe, and we are so grateful for that. We will never forget Phyllis’ smile, her wit, and her willingness to help others.”

Fyfe’s contributions, and the corner, were recognized at a state level too. Assemblywoman Margie Donlon, who attended the dedication with her daughter, said, “We were so proud to be part of the dedication ceremony for Mrs. Fyfe’s Cozy Corner of Ocean Library – a space that will embody her legacy of dedication to our community. Mrs. Phyllis Fyfe was a constant presence in Ocean and lifelong volunteer, working as a librarian and educator. It was an honor to

The town’s fantastic DPW –who painted, laid the carpet, hung signs and “basically whatever [the library] needed done.” Kevin at All Surface Painting and Power Washing refused payment after finding out his work –hanging tree decals to liven the space up – was toward a dedication for Mrs. Fyfe. Lapidus Decor in Long Branch reupholstered the chairs for the corner, created cushions, and provided the shades. Local establishment Fox Floor supplied the tiles, and G & M Trophy in West Long Branch was a big help with creating the plaque that proudly hangs on the wall of the corner in honor of Mrs. Fyfe. The Friends of the Township of Ocean Library, enhances the library’s programs and resources through making direct gifts of materials and equipment, providing volunteer help for library events, organizing used book sales and fundraising events, sponsoring special programs and activities, and raising community awareness of library services. With 400 members from Ocean Township and neighboring communities, The Friends organize a large Book Donation Day, two major book sales and other community events.
It’s hard to put into words the work that not just the library accomplishes, but the hearts that Phyllis Fyfe touched in her time in Ocean with the library. Perhaps the best way to honor her legacy is simple: Read, Read, Read!

What it means to run a parade…
With so many parades happening around Monmouth County, one might wonder how such a festive event can come together. We sat down with Garrett Giberson, the founder and president of the parade committee, to discuss how Asbury Park’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade got started and what it means and does for the community.
“This will be our 11th annual parade,” Giberson says, proudly. And that pride is warranted. At a time of year when many people are still hunkered down indoors hiding from the cold, he managed to create an outdoor event that has become one of the most popular of its kind in the area.
“I started the parade because I was out and about town, meeting different business owners, listening to different bartenders, servers and people, and the message I heard from them is that March is a slow time of the year for businesses,” he says. “I wanted to bring commerce to the city during a time of the year when business is usually slow. We also want to bring people to the city to showcase it and build up community. I think we’ve been successful in doing that.”
The Asbury Park St. Patrick’s Day Parade doesn’t just celebrate the Irish culture of Monmouth County – it also celebrates what makes Asbury Park special.
“The parade is always the second Sunday in March. It’s built
around what Asbury Park is about. We have a lot of diversity in our parade and a lot of musical acts. It’s a really fun, family-oriented event. We have bagpipers, we have different bands that participate, we have high school marching bands, we have classic cars, stilt walkers, different businesses that come in and have floats – all are welcome to be in it.”
It’s not just spectators of the parade that love it – the town, especially the businesses, are big fans as well. “The community response has been great. Every year it gets better and better. It also gives the community something to do when there’s nothing really to do. You’re not going to the beach in March. It brings the community out to see what’s going on and be together.”
Giberson lauds the St. Patrick’s Parade committee as well. “It’s not just me; it’s the people on the parade committee that make it happen – it’s all of us together. The help we get from the community, the donations we receive, the restaurants and bars that participate in hosting the fundraisers and donating the proceeds to parade, the general public – it’s everyone together.”

A Pub for the Publick
St. Stephen’s Green is as authentic as Irish gets at the Jersey Shore

It’s not that hard to find an Irish pub at the Jersey Shore but finding one that feels truly authentic is a much trickier ask.
Plenty of spots throw an Irish-sounding name on the sign, a plate of fish and chips on the menu and a vaguely green color scheme throughout the interior and expect everyone with Irish eyes to be smiling. But few go the extra mile to offer an experience of true Celtic authenticity the way St. Stephen’s Green Publick House in Spring Lake does.
Named for a public park in Dublin, St. Stephen’s Green is perhaps the closest one can get to that city while keeping both feet firmly planted in Monmouth County. Irish flags fly outside beckoning passersby to stroll in for a pint, and once inside one of the most exquisitely cozy pubs presents itself in full visual glory.
Dark stained woods, mustard-colored walls, exposed stone and elaborate millwork are present throughout, with a large bar area featuring communal tables and a robust selec-
tion of Irish whiskeys and draught beers. Just adjacent to the bar is the main dining room, with the far area also serving as the performance space for various live music acts that are regularly a part of the routine at St. Stephen’s Green. And unlike most spots that feature live bands, it’s not just cover bands playing classic rock and Top 40. One can witness long-established live acts like the Bantry Boys performing traditional Irish music in all of its raucous joy on a regular basis here.
Beyond the main dining room, the restaurant snakes its way through a labyrinth of cozy nooks and crannies situated on various sub-levels, all of which enhance the atmosphere brilliantly, putting you in a relaxed and harmonious state before you even take your first sip of Guinness.
Speaking of Guinness, my wife and I started off our meal with a perfectly poured pint of it — the act of which is something of an art in itself — its crown of foam atop serving as a welcome mat for the famous stout. Guinness is intimidating
to a lot of people, but it shouldn’t be. Its deep, dark hue is a bit misleading, as it goes down surprisingly smooth and is never as thick and heavy as its appearance suggests.
The basket of fabulous Irish Soda Bread we were presented upon being seated was a nice touch. A full round of apps followed, with us opting for an order of Celtic Wings as well as the Irish Sausage Rolls. The wings can be had in a variety of styles including with a Dublin dry rub or glazed in an Irish Whiskey BBQ sauce, but we went with the classic buffalo. Heavily breaded and on the larger side, they came served with blue cheese and celery sticks. The Irish Sausage Rolls were a tasty and playful take on pigs in a blanket, swapping out the hot dogs for bangers, which were rolled in puff pastry and paired with whole
Bangers and Mash, as well as a full Irish Breakfast with scrambled eggs, roasted tomato, rashers, bangers, beans, boxty cakes, black and white pudding and stout and ale bread. In the end we chose the Shepherd’s Pie and had no regrets, its mix of ground beef, lamb and root vegetables in a savory gravy topped with clouds of whipped potatoes checked off every box we hoped it would. We also made our way to the sandwich section of the menu, throwing in an audible and subbing in corned beef for pastrami on the Clancy’s Red Reuben, which was topped with melted cheddar, sauerkraut and Russian dressing and served on rye with a nice side of steak fries.
Portions were more than plentiful, with each of us taking home as much in leftovers as we ate, meaning round two was a welcome lunch option the follow-
Though we were clearly too full to eat another bite, we simply could not resist ordering a dish of their Irish Bread and Butter Pudding, a warm and comfortingly cozy dessert fit for a freezing winter night. It was fabulously custardy
on the inside, nicely crusted on the exterior and came topped with a warm Irish whiskey sauce which brought any hopes of modesty and dessert-based restraint to a swift and abrupt cancellation. We left even fuller than we thought possible, and that was just fine with us.
The great thing about a truly authentic Irish pub such as this is that it lives its life as a chameleon. One could easily head here for a night out with the boys, knocking down round after round of stouts and ciders, while mere feet away, a family could just as easily enjoy it as a lovely spot for dinner on a Monday night or the perfect site to take Mom for brunch (their Irish Brunch is legendary here). And it goes without saying but finding a more appropriate and festive spot to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Monmouth County than at St. Stephen’s Green is simply not possible. It will be packed, it will be loud, and it will be perfect.

Vision problems in children are more common than many parents realize. Studies show that nearly one in four children experience some form of vision issue, ranging from nearsightedness to more serious eye conditions. Early detection and proper care are essential in preventing these issues from impacting a child's education and development. Additionally, when children participate in sports, the importance of protecting their eyes cannot be overstated. This March, we explore common vision problems in children and the role of sports glasses in safeguarding their eyes.
Common Vision Problems in Children
1. Nearsightedness (Myopia) is one of the most common refractive errors in children. Children with myopia can see nearby objects clearly, but distant objects appear blurry. As myopia often progresses during childhood, it is essential to diagnose it early to prevent further deterioration of vision. Regular eye exams are crucial for identifying myopia, as the symptoms can be subtle and easy to overlook.
2. Farsightedness (Hyperopia) occurs when a child has difficulty seeing close-up objects. 5. Strabismus (Crossed Eyes) occurs when the eyes are misaligned and point in different directions. This condition can affect one or both eyes, leading to double vision or poor depth perception. Strabismus can be treated with corrective lenses, eye exercises, or in some cases, surgery.
While managing vision issues in children is important, ensuring that children have the necessary protection for their eyes
when participating in sports is equally critical. Sports activities involve movement, contact, and sometimes physical collisions, making eye protection essential for preventing injury.
