SHREWSBURY – As voters went to the polls on Nov. 3 to cast their ballots for the presidential election, they also passed two questions pertaining to town matters. Question 3 asked voters to approve a bond authorization in the amount of a $42 million debt exclusion for a new police station and to repair and replace the town’s public safety radio system. That question passed, 12,019 to 7,857. Question 4 asked voters to decide if the town should adopt the Community Preservation Act, which would enable the town to establish, via a surtax, a dedicated funding source for preserving open space, historic preservation and create low and moderate income housing for individuals and families, including low or moderate income senior housing. That question also passed, 12,495 to 7,391. More details to be found at www.communityadvocate.com.

He is researching their biographies, locating their photos and medals, and creating laminated bio tags, which he places in grave marker flags at each site. So far, Sargent has marked over 200 graves. Acknowledging the over 340 Marlborough men and women who died or were killed while in service, he is also developing an honor roll. Marlborough’s deceased veterans hail from the French and Indian War (1750s) through current times. They include women from the Army Corp of Engineers, a Red Veterans | 13
