By Laura Hayes Senior Reporter SHREWSBURY - Residents gathered at the Shrewsbury Public Library on March 29 for a forum discussing Community Preservation Act (CPA) priorities as well as next steps in the CPA process. This was the town’s first forum of this type since residents voted to opt into the CPA in 2020. It featured a presentation and a questionand-answer session with the Community CPA | 12

WESTBOROUGH - The BORO Sugar Shack in Westborough celebrated Easter early on April 2 with a pair of “candy workshops.” Drawing guests from multiple area communities, the event saw Sugar Shack staff lead young attendees in decorating gingerbread houses for marshmallow Peep inhabitants. “It’s totally fun,” said Sugar Shack Store Manager Kristen Wall. The candy workshops followed a similar mold of a set of holiday gingerbread house decorating events late last year. “We thought, ‘How fun would it be to be able to do the same thing for Easter?’” Wall said. The event was a welcome opportunity to bring guests into the Sugar Shack, Wall said, after the recent COVID-19 case Natalia from Hudson works with her son Donald to decorate a surge earlier this year. It was, likewise, a beneficial part of Peep house at the BORO Sugar Shack in Westborough on Saturday. the facility’s programming, which helps students with special abilities gain work experience and job skills as part of the Westborough Public Schools system. “It helps our students from the Boro program and our student workers from Spring Home the Sugar Shack get to be involved and Improvement interact with the community even Guide inside! more,” Wall said.
