MARLBOROUGH – A developer is eyeing the corner of Lincoln and Mechanic Streets in Marlborough as the potential location of a new mixed-use development with more than 10,000 square feet of space. Alta Marlborough LLC (Wood Partners) submitted a special permit application to the Marlborough City Council for this project. The council then noted the project during their meeting on April 11. The new building would rise from the Neighborhood Business District in Marlborough. Its residential component would contain 276 units. There would also be a parking garage
MARLBOROUGH – A longtime Marlborough holiday tradition returned for its 30th year this past Saturday after a two-year hiatus due to pandemic restrictions. The Marlborough Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3565 delighted hundreds of children with an Easter egg hunt. While most of their previous egg hunts took place at Ghiloni Park, this year’s event returned to its original venue at Ward Park. Other than the past two years, the egg hunt was canceled only once -- in 2015. That year’s lingering snow caused muddy fields at Ghiloni Park. Once again in preparation for this event this year, many Eagles members along with their families spent several hours stuffing 22,000 colorful plastic eggs. Also helping were members of Cub Scout Pack 31, Boy Scout Troop 41 and the Marlborough Junior Woman’s Club. Among the stuffed goodies were M&Ms, Snickers and Her-
