Marlborough approves zoning map amendment

A now approved zoning map amendment impacts parcels near the intersection of Lincoln and Jefferson Streets in Marlborough.
MARLBOROUGH – The Marlborough City Council earlier this month approved a zoning map amendment for parcels of land located on Jefferson Street and Lincoln Street. The change in zoning relates to a proposed 276-unit, 10,000-square-foot mixed-use development at that intersection submitted earlier this year and dubbed Alta Marlborough. At an April 11 City Council meeting, attorney Brian Falk, representing Alta developers, said that the zoning map amendment contains a small portion of the Alta site, adding that developers fully support the amendment, which will remove certain design restrictions in that part of Marlborough. The amendment moves certain parcels from the Commercial Automotive district to

HUDSON – Two popular longrunning events returned to downtown Hudson last Saturday after a two-year hiatus due to pandemic restrictions. The Assabet Valley Chamber of Commerce once again celebrated community, culture and commerce on South Street with its 34th Hudson Community Fest. Concurrently, the Hudson Rotary Club’s 30th Skip Conrad Memorial Lucky Duck Race floated along the Assabet River to benefit the organization’s scholarship fund and community projects. Festivalgoers browsed goods offered by 120 vendors. Attendees also learned more about the community from representatives of 30 nonprofits. Nine musical acts provided live entertainment on two stages. Appetites were satisfied by food trucks as well as Horseshoe Pub & Restaurant. Meanwhile, Rotarians dumped about 3,000 numbered toy ducks into the Assabet River from
