opkinton elementary schools will reopen full-time April 5 and the middle and high school on April 26, School Committee members agreed at their March 11 meeting. Remote learning will be available through the end of the year, but remote learners also will have the option to return to school full-time. For the elementary schools, students will keep their current teachers, except in cases where remote learners change to full-time classroom and vice versa, superintendent Carol Cavanaugh said. Class sizes should not change, she said. Social distancing would be reduced to 3-4 feet “from the center of desk to the center of desk,” she said, with 6 feet maintained during lunch and mask breaks. Committee members unanimously agreed to the April 5 reopening. The state mandated that elementary schools must

onsidering the strong reputation Hopkinton has established over the past decade — with schools and safety consistently ranking high in regional and national ratings — it should be no surprise that residents give the town high marks as well. But with all that’s been going on lately, some positive feedback is welcome news to community leaders. National Research Center (NRC) conducted a community satisfaction survey of residents last fall, and the results were shared at the March 16 Select Board meeting. NRC’s Damema Mann said surveys were sent to 1,700 households and 589 returned them (35 percent). She gave the survey a +/- 4 percent
