he Hopkinton School Committee is seeking community input on the future of the schools and the best options for alleviating overcrowding as the town’s population grows. Town Meeting voters will be asked whether to approve hiring a company for no more than $60,000 to work with community to determine the best way to proceed. This company would work “to facilitate community engagement to create a potential campus master plan for the schools in response to student enrollment increases and other drivers in the Town of Hopkinton,” according to wording presented at the Feb. 27 School Committee meeting. This work will result in “a comprehensive report of community needs and potential viable solutions,” according to wording developed by committee members. “We need to act swiftly but with caution,” superintendent of schools Dr. Carol Cavanaugh said.
