Dance like no one is watching...
It is clear to see when you walk into the lobby of Studios On Main that it's full of energy, giggles and excitement. Dancers gathered around the studio doors just waiting for their teacher to greet them. Our teachers love what they do and it shows. Not only do most of our teachers have degrees and certificates, they have a passion for teaching proper technique and terminology. Even our little ones are learning the proper French ballet terms.
We offer many styles of dance and levels of tumble. We have everything from Hip Hop to Ballet from beginner and preschool classes to recreational and competition teams. We have added a third studio in our lower level so we are able to offer more classes at various times. Our tumble program has experienced coaches who are focused on safety as well as having fun. We believe all students should have a tear of fundamentals which they must attain
before progressing to the next level!
Studios On Main is not just about competition! There are so many other exciting opportunities the dancers have. We dance yearly in the Upper Perk Halloween and Christmas parades, participate in community day and grand opening events. Some students have had the chance to dance in New York as well as being chosen to showcase dances at local art events and exhibits. Our students were also seen as the featured dancers in the Upper Perk high school musical this year. We also offer a free Christmas performance each year for all levels to show off their skills.

Fall OFF the Bone BBQ Chicken
Bring on Grilling weather! This BBQ chicken recipe is completely untraditional, and everyone that has it requests the recipe. This isn’t a recipe so much as a way of cooking the chicken, but if you try it let me know what you think! This chicken has a few more steps than regular grilled chicken. Remember, grilled chicken is high heat, grilled fast. BBQ chicken is low and slow. I think you’ll love this recipe! Give it a try!
You can use your favorite BBQ sauce, I NEVER recommend a sauce. TO be honest, I doctor bottled sauce up so much that I wouldn’t know what they taste like in the first place. I usually grab kraft honey something, or even G. Hughes Sugar Free!

Fall off the bone BBQ Chicken
Active Time: 20 mins
INGREDIENTS
Total Time: 2 hrs Servings: 8
• 1 stick butter • 1 TBSP. BBQ rub of your choice • salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon garlic powder • 1 tablespoon paprika
• assorted chicken, bone in, skin on. I prefer thighs, but wings, drums, or even breasts work for this
• 1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce
• 1/4 cup maple syrup
• 1/8 cup bourbon
• 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 Cup butter/juices from the cooked chicken
METHOD
1. Preheat grill. Place chicken pieces in an aluminum pan, skin side up, and rub with garlic powder, paprika, bbq rub, salt and pepper. Cut butter up into pieces and dot chicken with butter. Cover with aluminum foil and place on grill on medium heat. Cook for approx. 1 hour, checking about 30 minutes in to make sure chicken isn’t burning. Lower heat, or move chicken to indirect heat if necessary.
2. Meanwhile, stir together BBQ sauce, maple syrup, & brown sugar in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 6 to 8 minutes. Remove from heat. Cover to keep warm, and set aside.
3. Check for chicken doneness. The chicken is done when the internal temperature of the chicken pieces are 160°F for breasts and 170°F for thighs, when tested with a meat thermometer. Pull the chicken off the grill and drain the butter into a bowl. Add about 1/4 cup of the butter to the BBQ sauce mixture. Baste onto chicken and grill chicken on the grill, skin side down, over medium low heat, until skin is crispy. Brush with sauce liberally while grilling. Remove from grill and serve with remaining sauce on the side.

Exploring the Parks of THE UPPER Perkiomen Valley
With Summertime right around the corner, exploring nature is high on my list of priorities. I love just being outdoors, smelling the fresh air, whether it's gardening, biking and boating, or simply taking a walk around the block. I don't get to do it very often, so when I do, I love to explore the parks in the area. It brings me joy to find wildflowers, birds, or a happy chipmunk scurrying through the brush with a treasured acorn.
Camelot Park is one of Upper Perks most accessed park, with a lot going on! Most residents are familiar with Camelot Park in East Greenville, but if you aren’t, you should definitely make the time to go on a hike along this well groomed path.
Located at 1124 Church Road in East Greenville, you can visit Camelot Park from 7am to dusk. This 102 acre local park has a lot of amenities; including two softball/ little league baseball fields, one soccer
field, a one mile walking trail with a quarter mile gravel track, tot lot, restroom and a pavilion. But what really sets this park apart for me is the walking path. Carefully mapped out and perfectly groomed, this path includes a 1 mile, half mile, quarter mile, and third mile loop. A convenient color coded map is displayed at the start of the various loops.
My personal favorite is the 1 mile loop. This loop meanders around the fields and skirts a small lake, home to wildlife and wildflowers galore! On my many walks, I have seen baby squirrels frolicking in trees, turtles, various birds, and beautiful native wildflowers. Dotted by comfortable benches, you can relax and listen to the toads croaking and birds chirping around the peaceful lake.
There are plenty of paths cutting through the woods as well, so go explore! Grab a friend, or a pal, as pets are welcome, or just go down alone and reflect on the beauty that surrounds us in The Upper Perkiomen Valley!
