ABOUT THE AUTHOR Larry Montgomery, Sr., is a retired Banker currently publishing the only online weekly African-American community newspaper on Long Island.

Montgomery, holds a MBA from Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York where he grew up, married and raised three loving children.

Ten years ago Montgomery committed to writing a twelve (12) book series about the life and times of a fictional character named U.S. Marshal Harry. The series was entitled, “The Parables of Life featuring U.S. Marshal Harry Bailey”.

Since then Montgomery has written many fictional novels and short stories all of which are presented in this catalog “SUBURBAN LIFE”.

An unscrupulous landlord is trying to illegally evict the widow of a young pregnant Iraqi War soldier and his mother from their apartment of 20 years. But when Marshal Harry Bailey, who has recently returned from a Reservist unit tour in Iraq and now on medical leave, rents an apartment from the same landlord he is drawn into this young woman’s tribulation. As it unfolds Marshal Bailey realizes he has much more in common with this woman then he ever imagined and he is compiled to help her, even at the risk of losing his job.

Finally the old man asked Bailey to restore his inheritance to his only daughter. A up and coming lawyer who turned her back on him when he lost his wealth trusting in people.

This ruthless businessman left his home country after winning a large international corporate law suit to retrieve his winnings by closing the losing corporation and merging all of its business interest into his. Marshal Bailey was brought into the picture through an ongoing money laundering investigation involving one of the businessman’s Vice Presidents and before this case is closed the wealthy businessman may lose everything he’s worked for.

Problems arose when each witness tried to sellout the other to their old Loan Shark.

Ebony a beautiful and strong young black woman’s life was taken in a life and death struggle that ended with her being sexually violated, brutally murdered and left in the doorway of her favorite diner by a travelling serial rapist. When her sisters learned of what had happened they each went into mourning in their own way, one decided to take the law into her own hands and just lashed out and before she knew it she had killed two innocent men. The older sister attempted to allow the justice system take it course but quickly became the systems worst freelance advocate and found herself not only covering up her middle sisters crimes but plunged herself into the same ugly sinful life she wanted to avoid. The saving grace was she only killed the one who unleashed this series of tragic events on her family in self defense or was it? But not before he rebuffed the biggest stumbling block ever which was misleading his investigation and the task force convened to uncover the true suspect behind these “Corporate Killings”.

This story is about an identity theft who steals the identity of a serial killer whose M.O. is to steal the identity of her victims and then kill them when she is ready to move on. This story centers around a young African American immigrant who will do anything to live the high life; she will engage in sex for money, she will sale and use drugs, she will do anything to be considered a lady of leisure. In furtherance of keeping this lifestyle. Our villainess preys on married men, steals their wife’s identity, sleeps with and uses the husband letting him think he is lavishly courting her as she unbeknownst to him spends the wife’s and family money until it runs out. Then she blackmails the husband and uses his family money to pay her bills. Marshal Bailey catches the case of a victim of identity theft; a woman whose husband was being blackmailed by our serial killers failed trisk the husband wound up dead. The investigation is hampered by the activities of a second identity thief, who by all accounts is a serial liar. Finally the serial killer turns her attention to our lead suspect and it is only a matter of time before the two collide in this deadly game of stolen identity, cat and mouse. The serial killer makes two failed attempts to finish off the identity thief but not until the third attempt did Marshal Bailey intervene… The only question was does the serial liar survive, or does the serial killer win out?

Marshal Bailey goes undercover to take down a ruthless psychologist who moonlights as a hit woman for a high powered Hedge Fund Manager. The doctor blackmails and hypnotizes her patients if necessary to do anything to further advance the business of the Banker.

But once the clients figure out what is really happening with their money the Banker has them killed so he can manage their estates as well.

The Banker just keeps folding one client in for another and taking their money to fund his lavish lifestyle and investment losses.

When deep cover Marshal Bailey finds himself the target and ultimately the victim of this upscale slide of hand shell game of bait and switch the Banker tries hanging Bailey out to dry by turning the psychologist on him. But the psychologist finds herself on the run when the client she tries to use to eliminate Marshal Bailey, turns out to be Marshal Bailey’s long time friend and partner Marshal Laura McKnight. When this murder scheme is foiled the murderous psychologist flees the country taking Marshal Bailey and his partner half way around the world to effectuate an arrest warrant after a cold blooded shot out that leaves a hard working peace officer dead in a hotel lobby. The Case of the Second Precinct is a story about the life and death of a New York City Police Officer who if not for his family ties would have lived and died in disgrace. It was common knowledge that the cops of the 31st Street Precinct in the Bronx regularly put in 10 to 12 hours a day. These men and women of the 31st precinct worked day in and day out, quietly protecting and serving the people of Riverton Avenue in the Bronx. But only a few outside the walls of the 31st precinct knew what really went on during and after work. While most of the officers after a long day at the station returned to their comfy Long Island homes a few religiously put in another 6 and sometimes 8 hours doing work at what was commonly known as the Second Precinct; better known as the Riverton Avenue Clubhouse a secret police sanctioned criminal empire.

Follow Marshal Harry Bailey as he takes on his toughest undercover assignment ever and goes deep into the belly of a crime infested 10 square block corner of the City. Read as Marshal Bailey goes undercover to find, expose and take down one of New York City’s criminal masterminds; a criminal who learned how to cover his activities from inside the system. The question is, is this criminal mastermind so deeply hidden behind the NYPD’s Blue Wall he believed he was untouchable.

“…saddled with 3 homicides in 3 weeks Marshal Bailey is running out of options when the killer himself finds out that he is marked for death as well; which opens the door for the entire NYPD system of justice to come under question…” This 52 day multiple homicide investigation begins when the body of a young woman is found shot dead lying in the middle of the hallway of her apartment building. The shot is initially determined to have come from someone standing in front of her. Within days a second homicide is discovered within 100 feet of the young woman by a neighboring precinct.

Her apartment building and the second crime scene are literally next door to each other adjoined by a ground floor bodega whose landlord has an easement to join the alley between the two buildings. Surprisingly a second canvassing of the young woman’s neighbors results in the discovery of yet a third body on the roof of that same bodega. Now we have three bodies and two investigations running in two different jurisdictions. When the third body is finally discovered and linked to the same gun as the other two murders Marshal Bailey is brought in. The target of the initial murder was a black mailer who had hard evidence about a multi-million dollar court case fixing ring run by a major law firm that was bleeding the culprits dry. The partner leading the operation hired a hit man to take care of the black mailer and quickly found himself looking for another clean up man to clean up the mess the first one made. That was when the investigation got interesting.

This story is about one pharmacist efforts to develop an acceptable drug to manage heart arrhythmia in infants, but she in advertently discovered a powerful truth serum instead.

Unbeknownst to the pharmacist and her team of researchers the projects financiers schemed to manipulate the research to test and perfect the serum without exposing its effects to the marketplace. The financier’s goal was to secretly have the serum developed and tested before their competition even knew what hit them, allowing their firm to corner the market.

During the clinical trial the effects of the truth serum prominently displayed itself when several participants, looking to help find a cure for heart disease confessed their deepest secrets to administrators. One revealed that as a teenager he and several of his fraternity brothers gang raped a classmate which resulted in a child that he had neglected all of its life. When this perfect storm finally came together it was in the midst of the final watch of a seasoned NYPD Detective with one foot out the door and the other on a banana peel. Det. Booker T. Watts thought this case would never be solved, but he promised his partner that he would do it and that he would do it before his retirement. Little did he know that it would take five more deaths on his watch before he did.

Detective Derrick Homes followed the rules and always stayed under the radar his whole life but when his grandmother died of lung cancer all bets were off. While Derrick worked as an undercover white collar crimes investigator for the NYPD he planned his new career as a rap music industry mogul all he needed was a $1,000,000 stake.

Derrick figured he could hold on to his job for another 18 months and all he needed was $1 million dollars to open a studio, contract a few rappers, and begin promoting them on a City Playground concert circuit he would create. All he had to do was come up with the $1 million.

Then use those funds to bank role the ultimate lick that would put him over the top. But, the fact is, all good plans have one fatal flaw and we know that no criminal had ever outsmarted the system; until Derrick Homes put his mind to it. All it took was a trail of dead bodies of some cops and some close friends, and a bold plan from a ‘Criminal Mastermind’ to make it happen.

This book is about a former CIA operative, a greedy politician and a beautiful Mexican American newspaper reporter caught up in the story of their lives with no way to tell it. The story opens in Phoenix, Ar. and quickly moves to the City of Durango, in Mexico. A housewife on vacation, is kidnapped and finds herself in the clutches of a local politicians self appointed police force and she is held to extort money and political capital. Her husband an Ex-CIA drop out comes to retrieve her by working through the proper channels until stone walled in a political stand-off. But he pledges to get his wife back by any means necessary, and he winds up kidnapping the Mexican Police Chief’s wife and daughter to make his point. Unfortunately while the local politician continues his plot to steal the $1,000,000.00 dollar ransom money the Police Chief’s wife is killed. From there Jim Durant, the former CIA operative and victim’s husband goes on a violent killing spree that ends up with a body count in excess of 40 people, including the kidnapper. But that is only the beginning, come follow this American made killing machine to the door step of the Mexican City of Durango chief kidnapping mastermind. In the end the politics of the business of kidnapping swings against the kidnappers and the press, in Black Out.

A young NYPD detective is being mentored by his retiring Captain, and as a way to get the young detective up to speed the Captain started the rookie off working on cold cases. Each of the four cold murder cases the Rookie selected to investigate were originally handled by the Captain and his now dead partner. Each of the cases were high profile and potential career changers. And Captain P.A. Frost capitalized on all of them, propelling himself right up to the rank of Captain. Now commanding a large Brooklyn precinct.

The Rookie Detective found each case more brutal then the last with little or no credible evidence to prove or disprove the tactics or motives used to solve them. But what was consistent was the fact that the suspect in each case died a gruesome death before justice could be served.

But this whole world and everything in it is a part of the battlefield created by the enemy.

You entered it through a dark canal and you will leave it by through another canal. No one knows when the battle will be over but we must fight to the end. This is why we bow down to God...

The biblical passage that makes reference to the “keys of the kingdom” is Matthew 16:19. ...And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:17—19). ...Peter figures prominently in the “opening of doors” to three different groups of people so they can enter the Kingdom. In Acts 2, it is Peter who preaches in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost; about three thousand Jewish people are saved that day. Peter’s preaching had “unlocked the door” of heaven for the Jews. Later, in Acts 8, the Samaritans believe the gospel and receive the Holy Spirit; again, Peter (and John) was present for this event. Peter had “unlocked the door” for the Samaritans. Then, in Acts 10, Peter brings the gospel to a Roman centurion’s household, and they, too, receive the Holy Spirit. Peter had “unlocked the door” for the Gentiles. The “keys” that Jesus had given him worked in each case. But there are four more keys to be discussed in this guide.

So how does man keep up his end of the covenant? Man plants seeds in the hearts of non-believers through sharing his testimony, while trying to live a Godly life, and developing his God given gifts in support of the body of Christ. Man’s sharing the gospel is what God commanded of him. To use the fruit of his lips to tell the good news and offer all men and women the opportunity to learn or God’s goodness.

Now there are a couple of things we each should know not only about our relationship with God but how important the steps to “get right with God” are.
