The Brush Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce
From BVRCC President Pam Burns At the Brush Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce we hope to build on the proud heritage and great work ethic within our Coal Region communities.
In the Business of Serving Business
With our various committees for membership, wellness and governmental affairs, we proactively provide leadership that has helped to spearhead civil, economic, educational and social development within the Brush Valley. For example, our Chamber, in cooperation with other area chambers, has helped to create an energy pool to enable businesses to purchase electricity at a reduced cost.
C
Chamber leadership has openly voiced and advocated for retaining workforce development within the region and have been actively involved in new recreation initiatives and development.
hambers of Commerce are vital, dynamic links for any business looking to succeed and grow in today’s competitive environment. From acting as an advocate for business interests, to providing opportunities to network within our community, the Brush Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce is uniquely positioned to provide every business owner with resources to help them to both survive and thrive. Simply put, the Brush Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce is in the business of serving businesses, as it has for more than 80 years. To do this effectively, the Chamber has successfully partnered with area municipalities, local legislators, area school districts, Luzerne County Community College and a number of community and business leaders to promote and sustain a healthy and vibrant business environment and community. Each year the Chamber coordinates several community activities, including a Plant Exchange, Duck Drop, School Counts and 5K Run/Walk. On the business side, the Chamber organizes local ribbon cuttings, Chamber Salutes, the Annual Dinner, Annual Awards Dinner, Job Fair and golf tournament. As a Chamber of Commerce in the 21st century, the Chamber is a marketplace for business networking. The members of the Brush Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce understand the importance of staying connected to their peers and colleagues, each contributing in their own way to the success of the area. Representatives of corporations, large and small businesses, our local government, Small Business Development Center, and educational institutions are united through the Chamber to protect the economic viability of our communities. The Brush Valley Chamber has a mission to be a catalyst and advocate for economic and social growth and development while providing positive leadership throughout the region. From establishing an energy pool with other chambers to enable businesses to purchase energy at reduced costs, to taking the forefront in trying to keep workforce development training within the region, the Chamber is always looking for ways to better serve our members. According to Pamela Burns, chamber president and manager at First National Bank, various action committees explore every avenue and possibility to enhance the quality of life for the entire region. “From Economic Development, Business & Education, Membership, Events, and Wellness, these committees give direct benefits to each individual and business throughout the Brush Valley. As we move ahead into the new year, we have pledged to continue to effectively communicate the views of the business community and to support constructive initiatives on major issues affecting our area, said Burns. The Brush Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce serves the communities of Shamokin, Coal Township, Kulpmont, Mount Carmel, Paxinos, Elysburg and their surrounding areas.
We have taken a leading role in educating the electorate about important issues throughout Brush Valley and surrounding communities. Our mission at the Brush Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce is to preserve, showcase and strengthen our area business and aggressively promote the area as a good place to live, work and play.
The members of the Brush Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce understand the importance of staying connected to their peers and colleagues, each contributing in their own way to the success of the area.
