Volleyball program started at St. John A junior high girls’ volleyball program has started at St. John the Baptist School in Kenmore. Coached Johanna MacDonald, the girls’ team is quickly making a name for themselves among the Catholic schools circuit with a record of six wins and two losses to date. Interest in developing a program in which girls could learn the game prompted the school to reinstate volleyball into its athletic program. MacDonald is a respected coach among the students, as she coaches the school’s track team and “Girls on the Run” program, too. The team decided to host a fundraiser to raise the $1,000 needed to acquire the necessary equipment. Eighth grader
Anna Stang made three cozy, fleece blankets featuring the Buffalo Sabres and Bills, Marvel comic book characters, and Hello Kitty. The team sold tickets during before school and during lunches and raised $500 in the process. Second grader Nadia Shilen and Kindergarteners Ricky Panowicz and Natalie Cook were the thrilled winners! The St. John’s Parent Athletic Association and an anonymous donor raised the remaining funds enabling the team to purchase a new net, pole pads, cable pads, six balls and an antenna. The St. John’s Jaguars look forward to ending the season strong.

SPINAL STENOSIS - NEW TREATMENTS • RELIEF WITHOUT DRUGS OR SURGERY WHAT IS SPINAL STENOSIS?
Spinal stenosis is often the result of the aging process, which causes the soft tissue and bones in the spine to harden or grow excessively. These changes may narrow the spinal canal and put pressure on the spinal nerve roots causing symptoms such as pain, tingling, weakness or numbness. Spinal stenosis is seen most often in adults older than age 50. The most common cause of spinal stenosis is osteoarthritis. Other causes include bulging or herniated discs, degenerative disc disease or injury to the spine.
NEW TREATMENTS FOR SPINAL STENOSIS: Three new non-surgical FDA cleared technologies are now being used at the Pain Relief Institute to relieve the symptoms of lumbar and cervical spinal stenosis without drugs or surgery. Disc Rehydration Therapy unloads pressure on neurological, vascular and osseous components and is now the primary non-surgical safe and effective treatment for patients with spinal stenosis, herniated disc, degenerative joint disease, facet arthritis, disc bulge and more. Unlike
drugs and injections, this new therapy is natural and its effects are lasting and often permanent. Another new technology called Deep Tissue Laser Therapy is used to reduce pain, relieve inflammation and restore mobility. It uses specific wavelengths of light that have a strong anti-inflammatory effect. Photons of laser energy penetrate deeply into tissue and accelerate cellular reproduction and growth. As a result of exposure to the laser the cells of tendons, ligaments and muscles repair themselves faster. As inflammation is reduced, pain subsides very quickly. Additionally, Electroanalgesia is now being used to reduce the ability of the afferent nerves to transmit pain signals. This treatment also promotes healing by means of the depolarization effects on the nerve cells. This computer-assisted treatment offers exemplary patient success in the treatment of pain, without piercing the skin. The best news is that these new therapies are suited for almost everyone and unlike some pharmacological solutions, there are no known negative side effects. Regardless of the therapies you’ve tried in the past you still have a chance to relieve your chronic pain or other debilitating condition and regain a normal healthy lifestyle.
For more information about these therapies please call (716) 870-7095 or visit BuffaloPainDoctor.com. Mention this article when you call to qualify for a no-charge consultation with Dr. Anthony J. Bianchi D.C. at the Pain Relief Institute

the fundamental principles behind maintaining a healthy weight in a way that is easy for children to understand. The book includes a section that serves as a motivational tool for parents to reinforce the importance of a healthy lifestyle and the importance of discussing healthy living with their children so it becomes part of their family’s everyday routine. The companion parent/child evening events, which will focus on topics such as nutrition, goal setting, selfesteem, positive thinking and stress management, will help take these lessons beyond the classroom in a fun and engaging way for all participants. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, obesity levels among youth have tripled over the past 30 years and what children learn at the elementary level will help shape what they know and understand about healthy living for the rest of their lives. “EEEK is a character children can relate to and he sends a great message throughout the series, which can give students tools for a healthy lifestyle. Michael Gelen’s illustrations bring the character to life and each story reveals a practical strategy to promote health and fitness in a fun and entertaining way, Ratka said. Cappellino’s EEEK the Frog series has been incorporated into the curriculum at many school districts throughout the region and has been used by pediatricians and major organizations such as Wegmans and Independent Health.

To encourage elementary school students to be more active, the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda UFSD is launching a new initiative that promotes the importance of exercise in a creative and child-friendly way. The program is centered on its namesake character, a frog named EEEK (short for Enlighten, Empower, Energize Kids), who is featured in a series of children’s books and accompanying activities. The books use rhyming verses, captivating illustrations and fun storylines to engage readers and help them understand what a healthy lifestyle consists of and why it is so important. The five-book EEEK the Frog series is written and developed by MaryAnne Cappellino, a local author and fitness instructor, with illustrations by local artist Michael Gelen. The program is being introduced to Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda schools by Heather Ratka, curriculum specialist for health and physical education. It is being funded through the Carol M. Wright Physical Education Program grant, a three-year award the district received from the U.S. Department of Education which is now in its third and final year. Cappellino will be featured at assemblies at each of the seven elementary schools in the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda UFSD along with parent/child evening events beginning in November. All students at the targeted grade level will be provided the first book in the series, “The Most Clever Frog, which addresses the importance of balancing inactive time with active time and calories consumed with calories spent through exercise to underscore

Mayor, firefighters union at odds over budget cuts By Kimberlee Sabshin
TONAWANDA SUN CORRESPONDENT
At Tuesday night’s regular Common Council meeting, City of Tonawanda Mayor Rick Davis heard from dissatisfied members of the union representing City of Tonawanda firefighters, who expressed their grievances over reductions made to the preliminary 2015 city budget. This was related to a choice to not replace two retiring assistant fire chiefs and phase out those positions, leading firefighters and others to protest with signs outside City Hall before the formal meeting. Fire Chief Charles Stuart said Davis’ plan was to take two of the city’s fire platoons and bring them from a total of six firefighters down to five. Each platoon is currently made up of an assistant chief, a captain and four firefighters. The City of Tonawanda Fire Department consists of 26 career and 28 volunteer firefighters. The career firefighters, including the assistant chiefs and captains, are in the union, called Tonawanda Uniformed Professional Firefighters Association, Local 859.
A public hearing to discuss the budget before it is formally approved will be held 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 4 in the council chambers of City Hall. In addition to the controversial cuts, Davis said, in his 2015 budget message, there will be a .92 percent increase in the property tax rate from 2014, and the property tax rate will increase from $16.68 to $16.83 per $1,000 of assessed valuation. In other words, the average city homeowner will pay an additional $15 per year, Davis said. However, the portion of the budget that drew the ire of the representatives of the union read, “On Jan. 1, there will continue to be four police officers and five firefighters, at minimum, on every shift.” Volunteer firefighter Frank Corbett took exception to the word “minimum,” saying, “The minimum, when you’re talking about lives and property, is never enough.” “I’m not a career firefighter. I’m here because I know in my heart and mind that the structure of this budget places the people of this city, and property of this city, in grave danger. Just because times have changed, doesn’t
mean that structures, the historical structures in this city, have changed,” Corbett said. “To consider reductions in a department that is so crucial to the lives, health, safety and welfare of the city, although it may work out on paper…is a negligent result.” Captain Jim Barber, a union official, said Davis’ decision to include fire captains as part of the minimum amount of personnel, as per other city departments, was made without first consulting the union. “Traditionally, those types of actions would be taken through negotiations. The fact that you’re doing it unilaterally is, as a union member, unbelievable,” he said. In response, Davis said he had spoken with Stuart to explain the budget, and Stuart told the mayor the union members may have some concerns about the budget’s contents. “I instructed him that if there were any concerns, to please set up a meeting between him, [the union], myself and my administrative assistant,” Davis said. “I have a very wide open door policy.” “I don’t want people to muddle the appreciation and admiration I have for our fire
department,” Davis added. “I don’t single out the police, the fire or some other department, and think, ‘These guys are important; these guys are not so important’… It’s with that in mind that the council will have to consider the budget I presented to them and ways that budget can be improved.” Stuart ultimately expressed confidence that Davis and the union officials will be able to “come up with some kind of concessions that will be worth enough money to maintain current staffing,” which is their goal before the budget is finalized. Stuart said of the Department of Public Works, police department and fire department, the fire department is the least expensive, but he also acknowledged the trouble of having to balance maintaining operations with raising taxes. “We can’t just keep taxing our residents,” Stuart said. “Median income is very low in the city. The people don’t have extra money - that’s our dilemma. As a department head, after the safe operations of the department, I need to consider these costs.”

School district clarifies goals for current school year By Kimberlee Sabshin
TONAWANDA SUN CORRESPONDENT
At its regular meeting last week, the members of the Kenmore-Tonawanda School District’s Board of Education reiterated its new district goals it initially set earlier this month, with an increased emphasis on literacy and numeracy among students and district financial stability. According to a document the district released Oct. 4, the district’s two main goals for the 2014-15 school year are to “achieve mastery in literacy and numeracy” and “achieve financial and capital sustainability.” In doing so, it has outlined a more concrete strategy toward achieving its goal of being “a premier school district in New York State by 2020, the school board president said. “Obviously, the district
vision has not changed,” Board President Bob Dana said Oct. 14 of the district’s goals to improve students’ academic performance. “We need to begin a concentrated efforts to do what we can to improve our students’ successes in our buildings.” In order to measure students’ academic performance in Ken-Ton schools, the district plans to “analyze data like never before to drive instructional decisions and reveal areas where improvement is needed the most,” according to its newly formed mission statement. Throughout October, the district’s faculty and staff will complete an analysis of how its students are performing, and work on forming specific strategies to help in areas where the students are struggling. Additionally, the cornerstone of the plan to be financially stable is the
district’s ongoing consolidation plan, which it approved in April. This will result in Kenmore Middle, Hamilton Elementary and Roosevelt Elementary Schools closing in the 2016-17 school year, restructuring into grade five through seven middle schools and eight through 12 high schools, and redistricting. The goal is to ease the current strain on resources while maintaining a “neighborhood school” feel. “Also, phase two of the capital project, which will be voted on in December in the form of two propositions, will address approximately $50 million in critical capital needs while only costing taxpayers little more than $1 a month through a strategic use of state aid and capital reserves,” the mission statement said. Dana said he realized the two plans
for financial stability are “pretty reaching goals” and are “not measurable,” but he stood firm. “I want to assure everyone that we haven’t lost sight of the fact that we have a consolidation project to complete, we have budgets to do – we have a number of things in the fire. A lot of discussion took place that day, and the board will receive regular updates as to the progress toward these goals,” he said. Dana said deciding on the specific measures, strategies and practices the district will utilize to attain the goals will be the work of Superintendent Dawn Mirand and her team. At each future board meeting, board members will receive updates as to progress of the goals. Dana also expressed his concerns about the readiness of teachers to be prepared
for tougher standards, and suggested that, since the district has not recently had staff development reports, they should begin them. “I’m hoping that maybe at the next board meeting…we haven’t had a staff development report, that I can recall, over the last four-plus years, and I think the board would be enriched by such a report what are we doing to help our teachers to help our students?” Dana said. Mirand agreed, and there was also unanimous consensus from the board to begin this at next month’s meeting. Dana also commented on Hoover Middle’s recent “Common Core Ice Cream Social,” with Mirand and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Robin Zymroz, during which students and parents were encouraged to
come and learn more about new learning standards and what is going on in district classrooms. During the ice cream social, parents heard a series of workshops during the evening. Dana also said he attended a “Math is Fun” night at Franklin Elementary. “They had parents, teachers and students. Students brought their parents in and they worked on all kinds of math problems and so forth, to help turn children on to math,” Dana said. “My concern there is that a lot of effort was made by our administration, our teachers, our staff, and unfortunately, the attendance didn’t match the effort. I think this district needs to be challenged, in a way, to find out what we can do to help increase parental engagement, to see what we can do to increase that.”

Bulldogs play with heart, beat rival West By Dave Ricci SPORTS REPORTER
Proof positive that there is a reason why you play the game. The winless Kenmore East Bulldogs were clinging to a 7-0 lead at halftime when coach Matt Chimera talked to his boys from the heart. Chimera, a passionate man who cares deeply about the kids he coaches, had a hard time containing his emotions. He told his boys, who had endured so much heartache, that this was their game. They had played hard and they deserved the win. Seeing the look in the eyes of their coach, there was simply no way the Bulldogs were going to let this game slip away. Not this time. “The first person I wanted to hug was coach Chimera,” said senior lineman Matt Rymarczyk. “He got a little emotional
during the halftime speech. He said, ‘You know what? You guys deserve this.’He had tears in his eyes and he said, ‘You deserve it. Now go on out there and take it.’” Steve Nadrowski had the lone touchdown of the game as Kenmore East shocked Class AA North champion Kenmore West, 7-0, Oct. 18 at SparkyAdams Field. It was the Bulldogs’ first win of the season and their first victory in the rivalry since 2007, when they shocked Ken West at Crosby Field. “It was all just shock,” said Nadrowski. “Just knowing we beat West our senior year.” Competing in every game this season, the Bulldogs were close to wins a couple of times but it seemed like somewhere along the way, something happened. One play, one mistake — something hard to define — was keeping them from putting together a complete effort. On
JOE VALENTI
Kurt McGowan had 108 yards rushing against West. this day, that would all change. East defensive coordinator Cory Martin, who was a key member of the 2007 squad, factored prominently in this win, too. It was Martin’s suggestion of switching up the team’s traditional 4-4 defense to a 3-3 stack as a way of hopefully containing the explosive Blue
Devils offense. Martin’s plan was a stroke of genius as the Blue Devils couldn’t adjust to the different defensive look and their offense was held silent. Terrell Ford, who had been ripping up the best teams in WNY, was held to just 40 yards rushing. Trent White, who needed just 13 yards to set the
Blue Devils receiving yards record, was held to zero catches. Nadrowski agreed that after seeing the passion in coach Chimera’s eyes and knowing how badly he wanted this win for his boys, the players resolved they weren’t going to let their coach down. “We all knew it was a big game, but once we saw him getting a little teary-eyed and really rooting for us,” said Nadrowski. “I looked in the locker room and (didn’t) see one person not with a little tear in their eye. We all knew we had to not just win it for us, but win it for coach.” Mike Debenadetti had eight tackles, a sack, and two forced fumbles. Luke Jones had seven tackles and big interception, while Kurt McGowan banged out 108 yards on the ground. While scoring the winning TD will certainly give Nadrowski something to be
proud of when he reflects on this game in years to come, he said the greatest pride comes from being part of a team that came together on this day. “If it wasn’t for (McGowan) running the ball down, Andy (Fields) throwing good passes, the line doing their job of blocking, we could have lost it,” he said. “Really, it just came down to everybody doing their job and it just happened.” Rymarczyk, who carries the moniker of ‘Bulldog Pride’like few others, said winning was so surreal he wasn’t sure if he truly soaked it all in. “I just took a deep breath and took it all in. I don’t know I may have taken it for granted. I was probably out on the field a good half hour after everybody else went back to the locker room,” said Rymarczyk. “I was just trying to absorb it all. I really don’t even know if I did. That’s the sad part.”
Kenmore East soccer ‘does it for Shelby’ By Dave Ricci SPORTS REPORTER
Shelby Goudy couldn’t help but smile when she saw the “DoIt4Shelby” strip across the back of not only her warm up jacket, but all of her teammates’ as well. It emphatically told Goudy that she wasn’t alone. That her Kenmore East soccer family had her back. “It really touched me,” said Goudy. “And it’s nice to have a team that has my back the entire time. Supporting me through everything. Always being there for me. Always being there when I need help.” Goudy, a senior, has experi-
enced the type of season that no high school athlete should ever have to endure. It went far beyond minutes on the field and stats accumulated to cold, hard fear for her life. The Lady Bulldogs had just played Lewiston-Porter to a 4-4 double OT tie on Oct. 14 when Goudy came to the sidelines unable to catch her breath. Goudy was rushed by ambulance to the hospital. She underwent tests that revealed nothing conclusive other than her soccer season was over. “I remember coming off the field after double overtime saying, ‘I can’t breath. I can’t breath,’” said Goudy. “They brought over my inhaler, nothing worked. I remember the trainer coming over to me
as I fell to the ground. Parts are coming back to me day by day. My dad told me that (the trainer) said in his 10 years he’s never had to almost use CPR on a kid, it was so bad. I do remember being in the ambulance and waking up in the hospital, but I don’t remember doctors talking to me or anything.” Lady Bulldogs coach Chris Obey said the DoIt4Shelby motto is this team’s way of supporting Goudy through a difficult time in her life. “The girls have done whatever they can to keep her spirits up and really try to help her out,” said Robey. Goudy’s season of living in fear actually began opening weekend. The Bulldogs
were playing City Honors in the third-place game of the Durick Tournament Aug. 30 at Tonawanda High School. With about 15 minutes remaining in the game, Goudy came off the field and her breathing was somewhat erratic. Fire fighters, who were at the school setting up cooling fans on the field, attended to Goudy. They tried a couple of methods to cool her down and restore her breathing to normal. But when her breathing issues continuing and her heart kept racing, the fire fighters suggested Goudy be taken to the hospital to be checked. It was a chilling moment for Goudy, who, through a slow stream of tears, confessed she had never been to the hospital before.
“It’s been really scary. It’s been a struggle,” said Goudy. “I’ve never been scared for my life like I was Tuesday (Oct.14). I can’t remember a lot of it, but I couldn’t catch my breath. Nothing was working. This whole season was so stressful. I’d go on the field and I’d be so scared it’s going to happen to me again. What’s going to happen to me today? It stinks.” Up to that point in her life, Goudy had never experienced any kind of breathing issues. Seeing a teammate and friend taken away by ambulance twice in one season was very hard for the Lady Bulldogs to witness. “I can’t imagine being in her position,” said teammate
Rose Mueller. “Shelby is a good person and teammate. She always tries to do the best she can for us and I think so highly of her for that.” Having her season cut short was a hard blow for Goudy, who was unable to play against rival Ken West Oct. 16 at Kenney Field. But Goudy was able to step on the field for her senior game as she, and Ken West senior Ashley Raymond who is sidelined (knee injury), took part in a special ceremonial opening kick off. “It meant a lot to me,” Goudy said. “It was really very touching. It really meant a lot to me that Robey and the entire team went through so much to help me.”

Vic Baron: the Bison who took over for Hall of Famer Bench By Howard Henry CONTRIBUTOR
This is the first installment of a two-part series on WNY Baseball Hall of Famer and former Buffalo Bison Vic Baron. Not many men can say they replaced Johnny Bench in the catching department. Vic Baron is one of those who can say he did, but it’s not something you will hear him brag about. He is well aware that it came about as a lucky break for him and because of an unfortunate break for Bench. Bench’s road to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown led through Buffalo in 1966. Just 18 years old, the catcher was destined for greatness, the perfect package of receiving grace behind the plate and awesome power in the batter’s box. But even great players encounter setbacks and that is exactly what happened to Bench in his first game as a Buffalo Bison.
Bench had started the 1966 season for Class A Peninsula in the Carolina League, but 22 home runs and a .294 average in 98 games proved he was much classier than that. He was promoted to the Triple-A Bisons and started the first game of a July 31 Sunday afternoon double-header against Richmond. Acrowd of 20,965 watched as the “can’t miss” catcher missed a first-inning foul tip that fractured his right thumb and ended his season. The Bisons had a sudden need for another catcher. With Bench’s injury, the Herd had only Larry Himes to call on in the catching department, and Himes responded to the challenge. Fashioning a 10-game hitting streak, Himes slugged .419 with two home runs and 10 RBIs, and the Bisons took eight of 10. But Himes needed a backup, and Bison General Manager Clay Dennis knew just where to turn in a season suddenly lean of catchers. He reached out to Baron, the
catcher he had known when he was General Manager during Baron’s 1960 campaign with the Bakersfield (California) Bears. And Baron, playing semi-pro ball since 1962, inked a Buffalo contract on Aug. 5. A native of Marsteller, Pennsylvania, Baron started in professional baseball through the influence of his high school coach, Monty Close, who “pushed me to my limits.” (Close would later tell Baron that he was the best athlete Close had ever guided.)Thus, the fouryear All-State baseball catcher from Madera (now Moshannon Valley) High School — he had also been All-County in football for four years, plus wrestling —tried out following his 1957 graduation with both the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Philadelphia Phillies. Unlike older brothers George and Martin, who had brief stints with the Pirates, Vic chose the Phillies. Spring training in 1958 gave Baron exposure to former Phillie catcher Andy Seminick, from whom he would learn much and
Vic Baron as a member of the Magic Valley Cowboys in 1961. with whom he would maintain ongoing contact. Seminick would also be his Johnson City (Tennessee) manager as Vic made three Class D stops in his first professional season: Brunswick (Georgia-Florida League), where he hit .273; Johnson City; and finally Olean (New York). Baron started 1959 with Class B Des Moines (Iowa), hitting
.276, but still found himself sent back to Class DTampa (Florida) after 12 games. In 1960 he split the catching duties with two other Phillies prospects at Class C Bakersfield (California), struggling with a .219 batting mark. Perhaps Baron was missing high school sweetheart, Karen Hansel, whom he had now wed. Perhaps the road life was getting to him. “For the first three years I never took any clothes out of my suitcase,” Baron said. “I was sent all over.” If the first three years of his career had seen dislocation and uncertainty, 1961 was a year of stability, at least in the beginning. Baron started catching regularly with the Class C Magic Valley (Idaho) Cowboys managed by Jack Dorn Phillips, a Buffalo native and former Bison. Phillips communicated well with his Pioneer League players and clearly let Baron know that he respected the catcher’s abilities. Encouraged, Baron responded as never before.
He also responded to a new responsibility he had not previously encountered — Karen had presented him with a daughter, Melinda. Baron had become a father. The Pioneer League played a split season. At the mid-way point, after playing in 45 of his team’s 58 games, Baron found himself second on the team in average (.327), third in doubles (10) and fourth in home runs (nine). He was named to the Pioneer League All-Star Team. After the break, he resumed pounding the ball. In Billings, Montana, on June 24, he hit “the longest home run of my life,” a grand slam in the top of the ninth inning to put Magic Valley on the board in a game it eventually lost, 10-5. Soon, his average had climbed to .339 and his home run total to 12. Then Baron’s bad break struck. It was his back. Read about the back half of Vic Baron’s road to the Bisons in next week’s edition of the Courier.

HOME IMPROVEMENT Keep warm, keep safe (NAPSI)—As autumn approaches, many people are looking forward to a break from the summer heat. However, soon that relief may turn chilly and your reliance on heating equipment will increase. The Electrical Safety Foundation International wants you to be aware of the risks associated with heating equipment and follow a few simple steps to help reduce your risk of a home fire. According to a report by the National Fire Protection Association, heating equipment is one of the leading causes of home fire deaths, responsible for an estimated 490 in 2010. The leading factors contributing to ignition in home heating equipment fires were failure to clean the device, the heat source being too close to combustibles, and a mechanical failure or malfunction of the equipment. With proper installation, use and maintenance, you can reduce your risk of property loss, injury or death resulting from the use of heating equipment. With the increased use of heating equipment, carbon monoxide incidents are also more frequent in colder months. Gas-fueled heating devices were the primary heating source responsible for nonfire carbon monoxide poisonings. Carbon monoxide is odorless, invisible and potentially deadly. Be sure to continue testing your carbon

Why automatic standby generators are better than portables (NAPSI)—Portable generators are readily available from many retailers and home centers, they’re familiar to users and thus easy to operate, and they store easily in a shed or garage. However, automatic standby generators offer many advantages over portables during a power outage. Here are the top six: • They can back up your entire home, which can be difficult or impossible with a portable generator—even a large one. Life goes on as normal, as if utility power were never interrupted. • Automatic operation. When the power goes out, an automatic standby generator senses the outage, starts up and automatically begins delivering power to your home within seconds. A portable generator has to be taken out of storage, fueled and started up manually. • They don’t require refueling. An automatic standby generator runs on your home’s natural gas or LP fuel supply. Both can keep your generator running for days or even weeks. A portable generator runs on gasoline and, depending on the size of the tank and amount of power you’re using, you’ll have to refuel it every seven to 10 hours. • Quieter operation. With their sound-deadening enclosures, automatic standby generators are much quieter than portable generators. • They don’t require extension cords. Unless you have a manual transfer switch, you’ll have to run extension cords from your generator to all your appliances. Automatic standby generators deliver power directly to your home’s electrical system. Your lights and appliances—including hardwired items like a furnace or well pump—operate as they would under utility power. • They are safer because they are permanently installed and must comply with rigorous national and local building and electrical codes. To learn more about the long-term advantages of home standby power, visit the Generac website at www. generac.com. CPOWNY
