A new Rooftime for your home this year This year, an estimated 75,000 homes in Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati will require work on their roof. In the spring, roofing crews begin an installation schedule that doesn’t slow down until after Thanksgiving, so homeowners need to contact a reputable roofer as soon as possible. Some roofers will not leave their bid with a customer the same day they measure the job creating further delays, others Like Rooftime, will prepare a quote and leave it with the homeowner. Justin Shoemaker of Rooftime has learned that with everyone’s busy schedule, delivering a quote on the spot is more respectful of time and is better appreciated by a homeowner. Shoemaker recommends being thorough when searching for a roofing company, “Use the internet, the BBB, and Angie’s list to start with,” he said. “Rooftime has been reviewed on those sites, as well as many others. People have been logging into their favorite sites, and recommending our services for years. It’s really nice to be invited to quote a roof and they tell me they called us because they liked what they read online about our business.” Professional roofers market their services on the Internet which allows them to explain using video, pictures, and customer testimonials just what they do while working on your roof. It is also it is important to carefully consider what is said in print ads because some companies

Gentle Dental Care offers IV, Oral Sedation Seminar Have you ever wondered how you can overcome your fear of the dentist? It’s as simple as three little words – Gentle Dental Care! Just look at what these, the most fearful dental patients, are saying about Dr. Dallmann and her caring, professional staff... “I have a terrible dental phobia, but I was at the point where I needed to go to the dentist. I needed
someone who offered sedation and I found out about Dr. Tara Dallmann. I was able to get in right away,” explained T.W., of Campbell County. “When I came in, I was treated like royalty, that can put you to ease quickly. Everyone there is so polite and caring, it’s hard to put into words. It’s so wonderful to be able to go to the dentist and not be terrified.”
“The girls were wonderful. They made me feel very comfortable. Also the
time spent explaining everything to me made a big difference. I will glad-
ly recommend your services to everyone. Thanks again for the ease that I felt, you all are wonderful,” said J.C. Independence. “I’ve never had any bad experiences with dentists but have never liked going to them. I hate having my mouth messed with, to the point that as soon as my pediatric dentist stopped seeing me at age 21, I stopped going to the dentist. I figured if no one was going to make me then I wouldn’t go. “Three years later, I started having some gum problems and decided I needed to go. Sedation dentistry with Dr. Dallmann and the rest of the staff was the perfect solution. I took a little pill an hour before my appointment and don’t remember much after that :) I got all most of the work done in one visit but without all the anxiety and stress I would have Dental see page 10

The local scuba diving season has begun When people think of scuba diving, many places come to mind – Fiji, Hawaii, the Cayman Islands, St. Lucia, the Bahamas, the Red Sea, Galapagos and Australia. But what those same people may not realize is that every weekend, from June through October, hundreds of Greater Cincinnati residents head out for a day or two of scuba diving at local recreational dive sites. “Local scuba diving may not be diving in a tropical paradise, but it does allow certified scuba divers to enjoy a few of the things they love about diving, such as spending time in another world, and experiencing the weightless wonder of ‘flying without wings’,” said Jim Barrie the owner of The Scuba Shack in Florence. “While there are no tropical fish or ocean sea creatures in our local waters, there are numerous fresh water fish and
turtles. And even though there are no beautiful coral reefs here, there are a myriad of interesting rock formations and underwater plants. We also have plenty of sunken boats, airplanes, helicopters and other things to explore underwater at our local dive sites.” The Scuba Shack is located on Rte 18, ‘just around the corner from Florence Mall’. In addition to scuba certification training, The Shack offers certified scuba divers the opportunity to go on instructor- escorted local dive outings most weekends from June through October. They also conduct several special event diving days, that include the Great Underwater Scavenger Hunt in August, and the Great Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest in October. A typical local dive day consists of meeting up with dive buddies, driv-
ing to a local dive site, gearing up, and doing a few dives to depths of 20 to 40 feet. Between dives, ‘surface interval’ time is spent eating, socializing and planning the next dive. “Because scuba diving is 95 percent social, divers also gather for The Scuba Shack’s social gatherings that we call Club Aquarius events,’ said Barrie. “We have ‘ShackDoggie’ cookouts, ‘WalkIn’ outdoor movie nights, and Travel parties, which are frequently held on the Shack’s Party Patch behind the shop.” So if scuba diving is on your list of things to do someday, The Scuba Shack offers free ‘Try Scuba’ sessions in their indoor heated pool. Visit the website, www.TheScubaPlace.com, or call 859-283-1550 for more information, or to schedule your very own Try Scuba Experience.

What can Mortenson Family Dental do to help you through these difficult financial times? Mortenson Family Dental was founded by Dr. and Mrs. Wayne Mortenson who were initially pig farmers with a large family and a small income. It was later in his life that Dr. Mortenson decided to go to college to become a Dentist. In a small one room office he built a successful practice from the ground up. After many years of hard work and dedication he was able to help his sons begin their own practices. He developed a passion for starting successful dental offices based on the phi-
losophy that the patient comes first and deserves to have the best quality of care with affordable solutions. This allows families to have the same quality of care that he would want or provide for his own. Because Mortenson Family Dental now has more than 20 offices, we are able to accept most insurance plan that private dentists can't afford to take because their contracted fees or payments are so low. For patients who have no dental insurance Mortenson Family
Dental offers their own comprehensive dental plan. For a single member the total annual cost is $227. This fee includes: Unlimited exams and xrays, two adult or child routine cleanings a year with $5 co-pay, one fluoride treatment per year with $5 co-pay and a 25 percent discounts on all other in-office procedures. The cost for a new patient exam with x-rays, routine cleaning and fluoride treatment costs over $300 so the plan essentially pays for itself in one visit! If you are interested in more information please go to our website www.mortensonfamily-
dental.com or you can contact the office directly. They also participate with Care Credit which offers various payment plan options. Patients fill out an application and receive an account number that their dentistry can be charged to. The sixmonth plan has no dollar limit and is the same as cash with 0 percent finance or interest charged! Amounts exceeding $1,000 can be charged for 12 months same as cash 0 percent finance or interest charged! If you are interested in learning more about Care Credit you can visit their website www.carecredit.com or
call them directly at 800365-8295. For the patient that can't afford either of the options mentioned above we recommend addressing one problem at a time. We will address first what is hurting, then what could end up being the patient's biggest problem or cost the most money if untreated and lastly the smallest problems that were able to hold their own while we were repairing the more severe issues. Where you have a will, we'll find a way! Call today and let us customize a treatment plan for you!

Beyond creating an optimal environment for you, sedation dentistry allows the Gentle Dental Care team to complete multiple treatments in one appointment.
