The following is intended as a preview of Group Gatherings and Community Experiences generously donated by fellow Community School parents, faculty, and staff members, and carefully curated by us, the CPA Trivia Committee.

Second graders join us to ring in the Year of the Snake! Your second grader will celebrate the Lunar New Year with Asian arts and crafts to welcome in the year of the snake. In Chinese culture, the Snake is a symbol of wisdom, elegance, and mystery. Regional customs and traditions vary widely but share the same theme: seeing out the old year and welcoming in the luck and prosperity of a new year. Take a dip in the pool to cool off. Buffet lunch will be served.

THIRD GRADE - End of the School Year Backyard Pool Bash

Art Room Takeover (Grades 1 - 6)

Calling all young artists! This is a chance to take over the school’s Art Room and unleash your creativity! MADE Community Style

Your child and five friends wil join the Community School science teachers and see what they can make at MADE. MADE for Kids is a 7,000 sq ft makerspace that features a makers workshop, artist studio, design lab and entrepreneurs’ marketplace where kids can use their imaginations to create, invent, tinker, explore, and discover. Will your child choose to try screen-printing, laser cutting, stop motion animation, 3D printing, pottery, or something else altogether? Bid and find out!

Community SleepUNDER and Movie Night

Description:

Spend a Friday evening (from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.) at Community. Watch movies, play games, and enjoy an evening full of fun with Mrs. Hendricks and the 2nd Grade Team at the ultimate sleep "under." Your child will work with the teachers to pick a favorite movie, plan some games, and ensure the dinner and snacks are tasty. And don't worry about packing a bag or dealing with the “Sleepover Scaries” the next day; these kids will go home and sleep in their own beds at the end of the evening. Grades 2 - 6

Grand Finale in 6th Grade Parade and VIP Seats for 6th Grade Graduation 2025

Student Teacher Assistant (Grades 5-6)

Description:

Here's a rare opportunity to be on the other side of the classroom. Your rising 5th or 6th grade student will spend one morning with the Nursery teachers as an assistant in their classroom. Send your child hungry because they will enjoy breakfast from Bread Co. with the Nursery teachers as they plan their morning.

A Real Van Gogh (interpretation by 4th Grade)

Description:

Walk away from the night with a one-of-a-kind work of art! The students of fourth grade studied the art and life of the artist Vincent van Gogh. The class participated in a collaboration to recreate van Gogh’s painting, “Wheat Field with Cypresses.” Van Gogh painted this painting as one of his first from a sketch he made from a nature study. His version was originally 28 7/8" x 36 3/4". Students selected oil pastels that they thought would be best for the section that they selected. The final image, now 24" x 32," is truly beautiful! A great success of an entire grade’s collaborative project. The 4th Grade's project is mounted on a piece of 30" x 40" foam board and includes a key as to which student completed which square.

PE Teacher for the Day | Upper

Description:

Attention, physical education aficionados: Here is your chance to choose a P.E. activity and instruct the 3rd through 6th grade P.E. classes for a day! The winner of this auction item will spend one day attending and teaching the Upper Division P.E. classes. The morning will begin at 8 a.m. with a Starbucks beverage of the student’s choice and a "meeting" with Mr. Scott and Mrs. Schmer to discuss the plan for the day. Throughout the day, they will come to all four classes, choose the equipment, set up, and explain the activity to each class. We will collaborate on a playlist of favorite tunes so everyone can rock out while working out! To conclude the experience, the winner’s class will be invited into the gym at 2:45 pm for a treat and a dance party with Goldy (students will be dismissed in regular carpool dismissal).

Murder Mystery Party (Grades 4 - 6)

Get ready for a fun-filled, suspenseful adventure at Ms. Futhey's murder mystery party! As the party guests, each student will become a unique character—each with their own secrets, clues, and suspicions. The story is filled with fun twists, silly suspects, and plenty of surprises, all designed to keep everyone on their toes while having a blast. So, put on your detective hats, get ready to search for clues, and prepare for an afternoon full of excitement, laughter, and a mystery that’s just begging to be solved! Grades 4-6; as few as 4, as many as 10 participants.

Mario Kart Tournament

Get ready to rev your engines and race to the finish line in the most exciting event of the year: the Community Kids’ Mario Kart Tournament! Grab your controllers, pick your favorite character, and prepare for a fast-paced, action-packed race through the most iconic Mario Kart tracks. Whether your child is a speedy Yoshi, a clever Luigi, or a fierce Bowser, this tournament is their chance to prove they’re the fastest racer in the game!

The winner of this auction item will spend a day with Ms. B until 1 p.m. The winner will help her get equipment out of the P.E. closet and set up the gym for each class, including making sure all the balls are blown up and mats are ready to go. Do you have favorite songs you love to listen to in the car? Pick your favorite songs and we’ll rock out during P.E. that day! Hard work can wear a person out… how about some Chick-fil-A and a shake for lunch while relaxing in the P.E. office? WARNING: Be prepared to sweat and get a workout in. Have you ever wondered what happens in the library at night? Your child's stuffed friend can find out! Win this item and your child and their classmates will all drop off one lucky stuffy for a very special slumber party in the Discovery Center. During our regular library time we will read the stuffies a good night story and tuck them in. Mrs. Mowczko will take great care of the stuffies and take lots of pictures so that kids can see what their friends got up to while they were away! The next day, each child will have their stuffy and a photo book delivered to their backpacks. Date will be set and communicated by Mrs. Mowczko based on the class's regular library schedule.
