everyone welcome Top left: The Strand Top Right: The Marina Bottom: Marina, Panoramic View
Whatever time of year you visit Exmouth, you’ll be assured of the warmest of welcomes. From mid-summer, when the waves lap gently under a blue sky, to mid-winter, when the sea comes crashing up the beach in a spectacular display of natural power, Exmouth seafront is a joy to visit, and a photographer’s paradise. The town, too, is full of life all the year round, with a spring arts festival, the Summer Fun Time programme, the Sailing Regatta, the October Carnival, the Christmas Cracker and, of course, the famous Christmas Day Swim and New Year’s Eve fancy-dress celebrations. Not to mention a model railway, all kinds of water sports facilities, bird watching opportunities and much more. There really is something for everyone young or old - in Exmouth.

two miles of golden sands
7
With two glorious miles of sand, unparalleled views across to Dawlish and as far as Berry Head, Brixham, you’ll find Exmouth is the place to bring the family - and of course the buckets and spades! The beach and the sand dunes are wonderful places to relax. You’ll find plenty of room to stretch out, go for a walk, paddle or swim, go beachcombing and rock pooling or just snooze in a deckchair!
Exe-tremely good tips! Summer is great, but Exmouth beach is here to be enjoyed all year round. For a seasonal treat, come and watch the ‘Christmas Day Swim’ - lots of people taking a dip in the water for good causes. If you’re brave, bring your swimming costume and even join in!

We’ve got the sand, and we’ve got the sea. But it’s not just buckets and spades - oh no. Exmouth is one of the best locations in the UK for both kite and windsurfing. Our unique mix of sheltered estuary and coastal shoreline creates the ideal conditions for a wide range of water sports. There’s also diving, with a myriad of wrecks to explore in Lyme Bay. If you’re after more relaxed inspiration, you’ll find the marina, boat trips galore and fishing trips. In fact, if it can be done on or in water, you’ll probably find it in Exmouth.

Exe-tremely good tips Try the Exmouth Festival Week for a great fun packed getaway. Music, crafts, the Kite Festival, dancing, arts - an entire week devoted to fun! Book accommodation early, call the Exmouth Tourist Information Centre for up-to-date information.
The Exmouth Festival week has something for everyone, music, arts, exhibitions and activities for all ages. If you want a exciting holiday schedule for the whole family, this is the week for you! Book your accommodation early - call the Exmouth Tourist Information Centre for up-to-date information. Exmouth has a great choice of places to dine day and night, with food from a huge variety of cultures on offer, as well, of course, as freshly caught fish and award winning shellfish. Local ales are available on tap in many pubs; there are clubs where you can party the night away, parks to play in, and the seafront esplanade is a favourite spot with visitors enjoying a morning jog, an afternoon ice-cream or an evening stroll. There’s a boating lake, tennis, bowls, cricket, crazy golf and donkey rides. And if that’s not enough, there’s a cycle path that takes you all the way along the seafront, and up the beautiful Exe estuary to the pretty village of Lympstone and beyond and cycle-hire shops are right here in town, with bikes for all ages, sizes and abilities! It’s all right here in Exmouth.

history
Above: The Royal Beacon Hotel Left from top: Historic terraced houses; A-la-Ronde; A snapshot of historic Exmouth. Exmouth revels in the splendour of Regency architecture, having been the first holiday resort in the West Country after the arrival of the railway in the 19th century. Come and explore the Blue Plaque Heritage trail, and learn about some of the names you will see - The Powder Monkey, The Pilot, The Bath House, Mona Island to name but a few as you pass through time. Exmouth is the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast, a unique snapshot of the history of the world, going back an amazing 250 million years! It’s the ideal place to start your journey through Devon’s history.
