olombian designer Liliana Montoya took the swimwear world to a whole new level in 2006 when she introduced her Montoya Swimwear line. The influence of Latin

American fashion and culture is pervasive through the entire collection. Her feminine, upscale swimwear showcases the beauty of today’s modern woman. Montoya’s ultrasexy bikinis and trikinis feature luxurious details in shape, texture, and color, and her fabulous prints are adorned with sequined borders, stones and Swarovski crystals. Each suit is completed with the signature Montoya Gold Heart.

Montoya’s interest in fashion dates back to childhood when she spent time watching fashion TV and runway shows, and developed a desire to one day live in that world. As she was finishing fashion design school, she created a beachwear line for her final thesis and knew immediately it would become her ultimate passion.

Montoya shares, “I love sewing and have passion for every single piece I create either by hand or by just trimming and adding textures and colors.” Each day she looks forward to letting her senses flow with creativity and exploring new ideas and concepts. Montoya credits the support of her “team” as her driving force, stating, “I cannot do it without them. I have the inspiration and the desire to create but without the friends and family that support me, I couldn’t do it. My ‘mermaids’ are a daily motivation to become a better and stronger designer.”

The two work seamlessly together to design beautiful and functional swimwear and resort collections. The goal is simple: encourage women to be true to themselves and feel confident and beautiful. Each piece of swimwear is inspired by stunning beaches and eclectic cultures from around the world, and are designed with intention and care.

The brand’s namesake, Poemä, means “the pearl of the deep sea,” and represents the fine and delicate nature of the Poemä Swim collections. nternational swim week celebrated its second year at the beautiful Papagayo Curacao Beach Club. Curacao has been the home for ISFW since its inception the beautiful Caribbean backdrop made for highly succesfull event. The third year of the event will move to a

new location and . With the signing of a Partnership with Pop Up Swim Shop and Swim Edit Magazine ISFW 17 will leave Curacao and also change from a winter event to early fall, this cis more intuned with buying season for retailers.
