HYPOTHESIS These are our questions ●
Can playdough conduct electricity?
●
●
Can a balloon attract aluminium foil?
Can a lemon generate electricity?
●
Can an electric current produce magnetism?
Experimentation ●
We created circuits using salt playdough, lemons and potatoes. ●
●
With a magnet we checked that iron chips form the shape of the magnet .
We checked that magnetism moves the arrow on a compass.
●
We created an electro-magnetic circuit that attracted paper clips.
CONCLUSION We have checked the hypothesis with different experiments We now know that...
If we rub a balloon against wool, it attracts small pieces of aluminium foil.
Circuit elements: a battery, a conductive wire, a switch and a receptor (which can be a light bulb).
Lemons, potatoes and salt playdough are conductors
Electricity and magnetism are related: this becomes electromagnetism
