Mauricio and Mayra are raising their four children and have been living in the community of La Aguita for 38 years. Mauricio works as a day laborer while Mayra stays home to take care of the home and family. Their former home was built on borrowed land, and the family is happy to have a new home on land they own so they no longer face eviction.

Maria is a single mother to her daughter, Rosaura. One of the biggest challenges they face is both Maria and Rosaura often get sick, making it difficult to find consistent work. Their new home is already providing a safe and healthier place to live.
GUERRA REYES FAMILY Blanca — 23 Valentia — 6 Wilmer — 4
Blanca, the head of her household, and her two children have been living in the La Agujita community for 13 years. Valentia enjoys going to school and Wilmer stays home with Blanca. Both children love to play soccer and run around the community. Blanca’s biggest dreams have been fulfilled: having a safe home for her kids.
