Malibu Bay – the UAE’s first residential wave pool – is popular among beach lovers as it gives them a chance to enjoy seaside vibes not too far from home. Said ElHaouasli, Vice President – Facilities Management, LOAMS, said: “I could see the difference when we first started hosting events in DAMAC Hills in 2019. We started out with one event every week; we received great feedback and then our residents began expecting these on a regular basis. Prior to COVID-19, we had gatherings with food and bouncy castles for kids. And although we’ve now had to make a few changes to keep up with pandemic restrictions, our events are still very much enjoyed by community members.”

DAMAC Hills currently offers events such as movie nights, arts and crafts activities for children, Earth Hour activities, fitness events, food festivals, cultural celebrations, flea markets and more. All these events take place while adhering to the rules issued by the government, with regular sanitisation taking place for the health and safety of those in attendance.

“We consider our formula to be successful as this is now being emulated by other communities in Dubai, which means our team has to work harder to come up with unique and creative ideas to keep the community engaged and offer them something they can’t find elsewhere.

“That being said, the success we’ve enjoyed at DAMAC Hills has provided us with a model, which we can now incorporate into other DAMAC communities, especially at DAMAC Hills 2, where, thanks to its sheer size, these events can be executed on a larger scale,” said ElHaouasli.
