This highly anticipated Crime Drama will move the needle on the future productions in this Genre. The VICE Squad Franchise will use a different approach to the Crime Drama formula by extending stories across several episodes and Shows. The crossovers between the Cities and Countries in the Franchise will be frequent and intermingle the stories in more detail and allow for greater character development. Logline: The Vice Squad Franchise is real life dramatizations from the stories of the Robbery Intervention Detail & other specialized units in Law Enforcement across the Country. These highly trained specialized Strike Units are focused on those that have crossed the line and are needed to be brought to justice.
Comparisons to other Crime Dramas are, “The Shield”, “Southland” meet “NY Undercover”, Show will be shot in a gritty and more artistic style as opposed to the current Crime Dramas that are on television. We want to show the streets as they actually are, raw and totally unfiltered.
Red Silk Carpet Magazine’s, Michael J. Rodriguez had the opportunity to interview Kevin C. Kellum who is the Chairman / CEO of The Ascendent Studios Group. What an extraordinary man. Kevin, pictured here with his gorgeous wife, Stephanie Corn, who brought him into television. Read more below about what he had to share with us. Stephanie Corn and Kevin C. Kellum
What is it that you love about the film industry? I love the ability to turn fantasy into reality for the viewers. We work in an industry that is 100% make believe but the viewer wants to see it as realistic. It is that delicate balance that makes it all so exciting when you achieve it.
Who inspired you to become a filmmaker and why? I was brought into television by my wife, Stephanie Corn. After directing and producing her talk shows, Treasure Valley View and The Stevie K Show, I was hooked. The logical progression was to start creating television productions and now Motion Pictures.
What is the most difficult part of this industry? What I have found is funding is
always the hardest part. You work for years creating, developing and making a project only to stall when it comes to getting it across the finish line per se. Once you have funding, everything else falls into place and you can create some magic.
What inspired you to create Vice Squad? I was having a conversation with one of my guys, Kevin L. Humes, and he mentioned a story, and it took off from there. I wanted to put out a show that was focused on the real stories that have happened in law enforcement and portrayed them in the right light. It started out so small and innocent but now has turned into a monster! We currently have shows for 10 cities (Los Angeles, New Orleans, Atlanta, Seattle, Las Vegas, Dallas, Miami, Denver, Detroit, and Boston); 1 State, (Hawaii) and 2 countries, (UK & Australia)
What’s been your favorite part of your Vice Squad journey? My favorite part is building relationships with all those involved in the Franchise. We now have a Vice Squad family with about 200 people in the cast and crew.
You probably can’t name names, but do you have anyone involved that will make this different from what is already out there in Crime Dramas? Well, our show is a blend of favorites such as The Shield, Southland, and Chicago P.D, with a little Sons of Anarchy thrown in. Our Cinematographers are top notch, coming from shows such as Narcos, Lord of the Rings, Chicago Fire and Sons of Anarchy. We have a director that has won an Academy Award and another from Sons of Anarchy and Magnum PI. To top it all off, our Head Writer is from the Law & Order Franchise.
Who is your favorite actor and why? I would have to go with Denzel Washington, he will always be the Man in my book because of his versatility and always on the money performances. He inspires me with his words outside of the industry that makes you want to be successful, “Fail Big, Dream Big” is something
that I live by as well as “Aspire to make a Difference.” Everyone that works with me knows that it is about the team and not the individual.
What advice can you give to other independent filmmakers? Keep pushing towards what you want. Do not quit what you want. There are definitely going to be times where you want to quit but success is always one step beyond that. We have had major setbacks like losing a $40M investor but we carried on. We could have quit a million times but that’s not in our nature. Be that little engine that could, and you will get there!
What advice would you like to give to actors? Always work on your craft and yourself. So many times, in talking to them, they don’t want to put in the work and you must in order to be noticed. There are 9 million actors out there, so you need to make yourself better each and every day to be not just another actor.
Series, which is an 8 picture deal. On the tv side, the sky's the limit with Vice Squad going global, Murder Book, Mr. President, Lamb for Slaughter, Deception in Dallas, The Spill with Hannah and American Coyote. We are all about giving opportunities to those out there that are looking to work hard and grow their craft.
What’s your favorite movie and why?
What are your social media links?
Wall Street is my favorite of all time, I even name a Company after 2 of the characters, Darian Fox Entertainment. I loved the development and determination of the main character, Bud Fox but it also showed that you must stay true to yourself and not overstep boundaries in life. He was focused on a goal and once he achieved it, it changed him as a person and that was his downfall. Once you lose who you are, you are lost.

What other Projects do you have on the horizon that you can talk about? We have several Projects on the horizon as we begin the launch of The Ascendent Studios. There are 37 television shows and 23 Motion Pictures that we want to produce over the next 3 years. We are really excited about the films, Touched by a Vampire, Dracon’s Revenge, The Darkwing, The Summerland, Unhooked and the entire Saintlands
Do you have any closing thoughts that you’d like to share? Would just like to say thank you to Red Silk Carpet Magazine for the opportunity to talk about what we are working on and being out there to help us make a difference. It is a tough industry and only through helping others can we all make it. Kevin C. Kellum Chairman / CEO The Ascendent Studios Group 972-632-9653

Breanna Rossi was born November 6, 2006 in Chicago, Illinois. At just 3 years of age, it was apparent Breanna had a love and gift for dance. Breanna’s vast accomplishments have come with its fair share of sacrifices. Keeping herself disciplined and focused has attributed to her continuously humbling herself and being thankful to God and all his blessings in her life.
Many of Breanna's close professional acquaintances have witnessed her transform into a talented and wellrounded triple threat, through her hard work and professional work ethic. She acknowledges it is the glory of God that moves her. She attends service at the local church every Sunday where she sings in praise. Breanna is 12 years old now but when I met her she was 9. She joined a dance program at Healthy Hood a project of my church. She quickly joined other programs and soon joined the church. Breanna wanted to be part of everything. Lincoln United Methodist church’s ministry is to serve the poor those who are oppressed and without a voice. We serve the immigrants and refugees and have programs that challenge the 20-year death gap between neighborhoods that are affluent, who died 20 years sooner because many are poor undocumented immigrant mixedstatus families without access to healthcare or insurance. Breanna became one of our youngest ambassador’s. She has gone door to door bringing good news that we offer access to free health care, exercise and nutrition and our free screenings to prevent or early detect those 5 diseases that cause our community to die 20 years sooner. Breanna is trained by medical students to screen adults and children for High blood pressure, diabetes and signs up women eligible for free breast cancer screenings. Since she is way too young to vote, she has joined our youth group “la Fuerza Juventud” (The Youth Force) in the door to door voter’s registration. Breanna joined La Fuerza Juventud in serving food to
the homeless as well. She also cries for them. She sees the inequity and feels they deserve to be warm and loved. Breanna sings and plays the guitar every Sunday in church. She learned to play the guitar and sings like a bilingual angel. Breanna has become a leader, and a teacher after a few youth in our church attempted suicide. Too many of our families have a parent or loved one, who is in the process of deportation or has already been deported. The fear, stress, and anxiety a family suffers when the parent especially the breadwinner is gone in an instant is horrific. There’s the initial arrest of the parent, then there is the court, in many cases or the deportation is almost immediate. After three teenagers and one child belonging to our church attempted suicide due to the stress and fear of being separated or already separated from a loved one. The Chicago Public Schools assigned therapy, and in some cases, we were able to get them phycologist. Our children weren’t getting any better. Soon our education instructor, dance teacher was challenged with a creative therapy, especially for them and she recruited Breanna to assist.
The therapy would include writing their stories, along with group sessions with others their age. The sessions were mixed with those affected and those not affected by the broken immigration laws. They learned to testify in the halls of Congress and take their message of the fight to keep families together to all who would listen. Breanna led a delegation on a trip to DC, where they met with Congress and gave their testimony and danced. This inspired our church to make a documentary of what actually happens to our families. It went viral. This video is still relevant today. Breanna along with other members of our church participated, and star in the video. Please see the link below.
Please note that the lead dancer and actress is Breanna. She is an amazing child, and a rising star because of her talent in dance, guitar, song, and acting. With this much talent, one might think it would go to her head. But Not Breanna. We struggle to keep her in front of the dance class so others can keep step during performances. We love Breanna for all those talents, but mostly because of her humble, and caring spirit. I and my whole congregation are so blessed that Breanna and her family joined our church.Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v= MO0bl9uIlaI

Greeting, my name is Randy B. Mothershed Chief instructor of Lincoln Martial Arts Academy. We have a student Creed. The first student Creed is,
“I intend to develop myself in a positive manner and avoid anything that will reduce my mental growth or my physical health.
Well from day one Breanna Rossi first walked in the door she took this to heart and used it. She became a very outstanding student who has competed in countless tournaments and placed. Breanna has inspired others to pick up their attitude and be positive.
Mayra Martinez shares a few words about Breanna. I have known Breanna since she was in kindergarten. I am her music teacher at Ruiz Elementary school. She is an amazingly talented young lady. She joined our guitar, and choir groups when she was in the third grade. Since then she has grown musically, and on her own looks for ways to advance and challenges herself to improve. She has participated in our school concerts as a member of our musical groups and has performed solo as well. Last year she was spectacular in the
role of the "Genie" in our school’s production of Aladdin-Disney’s Musicals for schools. She is a “triple threat” for sure. With her acting, singing, and dancing, she commanded the stage. This year due to the grade/age limits she will not be able to participate in our musical, but she has volunteered to help with choreography. Breanna will be coaching and assisting with the dance routines, giving her new opportunities, and experiences, in an off-stage role. I am truly proud of Breanna. I am honored to work with her.
Carlos Serran filming director shared a few words about Breanna. I have the pleasure to be part of Breanna’s journey. I have been filming short films, and full feature films for the past 10 years in L.A., Houston, and here in Chicago crossing paths with many actors and talented people. Breanna is special, she has the spark that only a big actress possess. She understands feeling, and intentions. I’m impressed how she can deliver the truth with her character. We just had a fantastic experience filming, “Beyond My Shadow.” I think she is a very professional actress. In my opinion, Breanna Rossi is one of a kind. The first time we worked together was 2 years ago, with a little short film called “The Man of the Sea, Starring Mast Ali” a famous actor from India who was visiting Chicago - part of a movie production (127B), that time he accepted to play a role in our short film directed by “Héctor de Alva” sharing screen with Breanna. I have no words to describe how awesome her character development was, the performance was excellent full of passion and connection with Ali, one of my best experiences.

My name is Rose Queener, I have always dreamed of owning my own salon, for as long back as I can remember. Growing up pretty poor, I assumed those kinds of things only happened to people blessed with money. I grew up in a small boating community in Michigan, where most of your future was planned for you. I wanted to move to New York City right after graduation. When I was a kid, I'd lay in the field in our back yard, and dream of going there. I met my husband at 17 after I ended up living in a big city by myself, at that time I was just trying to graduate.
I met my now husband of 26 years during that time. We got married shortly after I turned 18 and I was pregnant with my 1st child. New York seemed like a distant memory. Fast forwarding to age 27. I decided to go to hair school. Great Lakes Academy of Hair, which soon would become Paul Mitchell the School. There, I met Tina Black. For the first time in my life I felt like I found my thing. She believed in me from day one, something I was not used to, and what blossomed out of that would shape the next several years of my life. I realized, I could be anything I set my mind to.
I'd enter a career for the next 15 years, little by little forgetting all the things that empowered me so many years before. One thing I knew, I was born to do hair. The feeling I get, when someone's confidence is restored, and they see the Beauty that was there all along, is an incredible feeling. I realized we are all beautiful; most don’t look beyond the surface to see what has been within us all along.
I spent the next 15 years having an okay career, running many charity events, and helping in the community I grew up in as much as I could. Most days I woke up feeling so empty.
Amore Beautiful You, is challenging people to dig deeper. We want to build a timeless beauty starting in our deepest parts.
About 6 years ago something happened that would forever change my life. With wet feet, I ran around the corner at the salon and fell. It would take days to truly realize the magnitude of what occurred. I spent the next two years not being able to lift my arms at all, I spit up blood every day, and the pain is indescribable still to this day. I had an MRI, visited a Neuro Surgeon, and was told my career doing hair is over. After many sleepless nights, so much pain, and depression, I left my career and the salon where I worked for 15 years. My surgery was a success, I lost a vocal cord, and still deal with pain, but all in all I feel blessed in more ways than one. It took something traumatic to threaten the quality of the rest of my life, to make me realize I was never living at all. I thought, "Why does this have to be my story?" It only made me fight more. I realized early on, the only limit I had was me. For the next year, I did rehabilitation and fought my way back, still struggled with pain, but full of determination. After many days of prayer, my faith grew, and I knew God wanted me to pour into others and my story would be part of it. I kept hearing Amore' Beautiful
You.... A song by Johnny Diaz played earlier that day on the radio. I'd later find out the name of the song, A More Beautiful You. After watching the video and seeing it was about a Mother and daughter in a salon, I sobbed and knew this would be the name of my place. The song was literally about my life. My dream came back. I knew I was going to open this place, where people could come, experience being loved on and feel better about themselves also. I registered the name in June of 2017, went back to school to get my teaching degree and started a new career at Paul Mitchell the school, heading up their Design Team. Back with my mentor Tina Black, what an adventure. Since our last encounter so many years before, she has opened 3 other schools, started a leadership company called "Next Level" and created the 1st Paul Mitchell the salon, which we will see grow in numbers across the country. She encouraged me to fight for what I believe in, stay grounded in my faith, and always put people before profit.
Amore Beautiful You, believes beauty isn’t just skin deep! We believe in compassion! We believe in Leadership! We believe in serving others, and most important we believe in Love. Amore' means love. The salon translates to love yourself. I believe we cannot reach the potential we truly have until we learn to Love ourselves first, unconditionally.
At the end of 2017, I started working with the walk fashion show in Detroit. An incredible group of people. I saw a lot of the same leadership qualities in them, that I was experiencing in our schools. I was given an amazing opportunity to assist them in New York City, for NYFW. It was like a dream, one I'd had my whole life. Tears flooded my eyes. I thought would never happen to a girl like me. I decided to open up the trip to the future professionals at our schools and raise money for The Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation. For every opportunity we are given we have an opportunity to pour into the world around us in a positive way. I saw a vision of a house zoned commercial and my salon would be there. I wanted somewhere people would feel welcome. And comfortable to share their lives with us, not only their hair. 2 days into the trip in NY my husband called and said a house went on the market a mile from our home. We screamed in the subway, instantly placing an offer on this shell of a broken-down salon idea if the person who occupied it before me. We had an opportunity to rebirth an idea, one that would potentially change the lives of many. Oh, the possibilities were endless. After being
turned down 6 times for our loan, we finally found a bank to approve us. I made a promise to myself, I'll keep asking until every door slam shut. I was not giving up this time. We saved and, planned for 8 months and it finally closed in August of 2018. Many hurdles, and trials awaited us during the remodel, and we quickly learned just how much was involved in running a business. It still was so surreal that it was ours. Every time we thought we ran out of money, more came in and we were able to keep going. God promised this would come to pass. Many times, I thought he changed his mind about me. But we didn’t give up. January 2019 the salon will open, and I hope to raise up my staff to being strong business owners of their own someday. Amore Beautiful You will be painting the town, beautiful hair, fashion, and editorial looks will pass through our doors. We hope along the way to help woman be inspired and empowered. Amore Beautiful You is just the beginning, we are not just another salon, we are a movement. Owner/Educator Rose Queener

and shadows, a distant world where human beings, and nature merge to become welded to create a unique form, and energy. The viewer plunges into visionary images of an unusual world but not alien, on the border of reality, a world beyond the appearance that might be around the corner of the house.

My World revolves around the visual "what if' therefore, in this case, how might Salma Hayek appear as a Crowned Warrior Queen. She could have been depicted many ways in that regard, however, this is the vision that appeared to me when I painted her back in 2005 and 2008. Ed Morales
"I originally painted Tom Selleck in a tuxedo circa 2007. The movie genre that I now most associate him with are his Western roles. He was the quintessential cowboy. With that thought in mind, I set out to try capture a bit of his essence. “ Ed Morales DESELAROM@OLYPEN.COM
"This is the forth installment of my Bettie Page series...BETTIE PAGE "THE RAVISHING ROGUE". One of the delights in painting Bettie Page, or any other noted person, is that I can set up the scene focusing the viewer's attention in a manner that tells a visual story. This scene is set up to look like a 1955 USA 3 CENT FIRST CLASS STAMP featuring Bettie Page as THE RAVISHING ROGUE. Of course, there was no such stamp, but don't let the facts get in the way of a bit of imagination. Ed Morales deselarom@olypen.com
“I originally painted this portrait in the Summer of 2008, therefore the low resolution image. In that portrait I did the hair in a blonde manner and left it that way for ten years. I've been fascinated with Venetian masks for a long time, so over the next several months I'll be painting masks onto some of my selected celebrity portraits. To that end, along comes Vanessa out of my art morgue. I simply had to do something with that hair, ergo the red hair, how would she look in a mask? That, my friends, is how Vanessa Williams became my first Venetian masked celebrity. Ed Morales (de Selarom)
“Years ago I wondered what would appear if I painted Bettie Page and the King dancing. After many renditions, I finally struck artistic golden pay dirt, and as if in magic, presto there they were. Did she ever meet him, let alone dance with him. Beats me. Lets not let what did or did not happen stop our imagination. Ours is to enjoy the scene as it might have appeared.“ Ed Morales
During the height of the Art Deco era, with a swish of a brush, any subject could be made into an Art Deco rage. That said, about 12 years ago, my loving cat Cole suddenly died in the studio. My daughter Nicole, within days, brought me Cole's replacement, THE MAYA! She is an Egyptian Mau. She was raised in a house full of cats and she had to be mean and tough to survive. When I first met Maya she weighed a ton and was pure muscle, and mean. I had to keep her in the studio otherwise she would bolt off. I would try to pet her but had to back away when she began hissing. This "getting to know you" period went on for a year and a half until she mellowed out or I began seeing things her way. One day, during that dark period, Maya was sitting on the window ledge in the studio glaring at the birds outside, I grabbed my brush an painted her image Art Deco style. Welcome to the world Maya, my Art Deco Mad Cat. Oh, by the way, Maya is the boss in the my studio. Ed Morales"
