Lab-grown diamonds are

shaking up the world of Fine Jewelry. It is a Paragon of Human achievement. They are chemically, optically, and physically identical to earthmined diamonds but are more ethical, beautiful, and affordable than any diamond we will ever get out of the Earth. We're replicating the Earth's natural process by crystallizing carbon in a modern-day lab environment into brilliant diamonds that are priced up to 40% less and are free of any environmental or humanitarian concerns. Although grown by scientists instead of created in the Earth's crust, lab diamonds are absolutely real diamonds—they display the same chemical and optical properties as natural diamonds. How Are Lab-Created Diamonds Made?

Lab-grown diamonds are also created using extreme pressure and heat. But inside a machine rather than the bowels of the Earth.

© Red Silk Carpet July 2020

© Red Silk Carpet July 2020

There are two ways to grow a diamond. Both involve starting with the "seed" (a flat slither) of another diamond. The first lab diamond was made using a HighPressure High Temperature (HPHT) system, where the seed is then placed amidst some pure graphite carbon and exposed to temperatures of about 1,500C and pressurized in a chamber. Because the growth process is similar to natural diamond growth, there are still variations in color and clarity of lab-created diamonds. In other words, not all lab-grown diamonds are colorless and flawless. Man-made diamonds are graded on the exact same criteria as mined diamonds (the Four C's), by the same independent gemological laboratories that grade earthextracted diamonds. Cut, Carat, Color, Clarity.

diamonds is to look at the grading report. You've likely heard differing opinions on the quality and value of labcreated diamonds, but the truth is that when it comes to lab-created diamonds and mined diamonds, there is no "better.“ They both produce beautiful, high-quality gemstones, each with an intriguing history that represents the best feeling in the world - love. The true significance of the diamond you choose isn't in its origin. It's not how much you paid. It's not how it's graded. It's not its size. The significance of the diamond you choose is the love it represents. Website: http://monashr offjewellery.com Instagram: Mona_shroff_jewellery LinkedIn: Mona Shroff. Conversation with Indian Multiskilled Lawyer Meeta Dutta & 'Nepotism' by Saif Rahman Sozib

'Nepotism' is a muchdiscussed topic in India these days. We spoke to Advocate Meeta Choudhury Dutta, who practices mainly at the Gauhati High Court, Guwahati, Assam, and is also a social activist and an actor, in order to get her views on this subject. And this is what she had to say : Nepotism and cronyism are highly embedded in India integrally in every perceivable field, be it in "Bollywood," politics, business, sports, and/or in every other work arena that one can think of. The list goes on and on. It's a fact, however, that realization of the impropriety of nepotism has been reinvigorated in the public imagination of

late as a result of quite a few recent tragic consequential incidents.

However, this is one aspect that one really cannot lay the blame squarely on an individual or a coterie, whether in particular or in general. The reason is that the entire matter being so subjective varying as it does from person to person as to how they are able or not able to grapple with it successfully or otherwise. She also added that people with talent and their willingness to keep working without giving up can never be dictated by others if she or he is truly determined and committed. Š Red Silk Carpet July 2020

So, in her opinion, one should delete the word 'nepotism' from the vision of one's goal and purpose and direct one's efforts entirely towards one's purpose of life and ambitions. She added that we should ignore and shove aside every thought and any evil influence of such confrontative villain or villains of 'nepotism' from our minds on the way and in our fight to the very end to achieve our aims. 'Nepotism' is a favorite word for the losers! For the winners, it's a joke that cannot be avoided but has to be only mastered! So cheers to life!

L U C I N DA P L A N T COVILL

THE ANIMAL LOVING REALITY T V S TA R by Saif Rahman Sozib

Lucinda Plant Covill tells us

about the ups and downs she had in the Amazon Prime and Tubi reality tv show, Miss Multiverse Australia, and talks about her love for animals. Q & A with Miss Multiverse Australia Contestant and National Finalist Lucinda Plant-Covill There is no other TV series quiet like Miss Multiverse Australia! This is a modeling contest where outer beauty alone is not going to be enough to win the crown. The intense, grueling, adventurous, but still glamorous, search for the world’s most multi-faceted woman starts in Australia! If a contestant does not have it ALL, they will be ELIMINATED!

Š Red Silk Carpet July 2020

This competition tests every contestant, pushes her to her limits and encourages her to surpass those limits. Over ten days, ten beautiful women will compete under intense pressure to prove they have what it takes to win the crown, the title of “Miss Multiverse Australia “and represent Australia abroad, all under the watchful eye of cameras that are documenting their every move.

Let’s get to know more about one of the gorgeous contestants, Lucinda Plant-Covill. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I have completed my Diploma of Counselling. I am so passionate about animals, and I cannot stand animal cruelty. I would do anything to help the helpless animals. I cry just talking about it.

Tell us about your experience during filming?

I enjoyed my photoshoots with fashion photographer Tony Palliser, he gave me some really nice feedback. I appreciated it a lot because I was feeling a bit low during filming. I felt I was messing up a lot, I always forgot my sash, and I just felt like people thought I was dumb. The singing challenge during the National Finals was difficult. I got really stressed out and frustrated, and I cried, but I had a lot of support from the girls in my team, a lot of support, and I can’t thank them enough for helping me through that. I’m surprised that we came up with something (a song) in the end because of I kind of lost hope for a second there. What was the most challenging part of the competition for you?

© Red Silk Carpet July 2020

I found it really challenging to remember my sash, I felt a little bit silly losing it all the time. I found Balloon Congo so hard, especially as I had to lead. Everyone would be telling me to slow down, and I was like, no! You guys have to hurry up.

The fitness day overall was really challenging, my muscles had given up that day, they had enough. No matter how hard I wanted to do something, they were not giving it to me—my poor little arms. What’s next for you? I am going to get into nature. I love nature, and I love our country. My boyfriend and I are renovating a camping van, and we are going to travel around Australia and have some great adventures. Photo credit: Miss Multiverse Authority

LAURA YOUNGER – HOW ASPERGES AND NASTY CONTESTANTS DIDN'T STOP HER

Let's get to know more about one of the beautiful contestants, Laura Younger.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am from Victoria, Melbourne. I completed 2 years of a Bachelor of Nursing and am now studying a Bachelor of Information Technology. I hope to become a Software Developer or

work in IT Security after my degree. What motivated you to apply for the competition?

I was motivated to apply because it sounded like a significant challenge and would provide me with an unforgettable experience. I also felt it offered me a way to demonstrate to other young girls with Asperger's that they are Š Red Silk Carpet July 2020

not limited in their abilities to what they aspire to do in life, especially for girls with dreams to become a model. What did you think of the other contestants?

I will be completely honest. There were definitely two distinct groups in the house from day one, the quiet girls, and the louder ones.

Behind the scenes, when the cameras and judges were not around, there was some drama. I received a not so nice comment on the first or second day from a contestant with a more persuasive personality when I tried to join in on the conversation, I felt belittled, but I just ignored it.

Aside from this, I really had no problem with anyone in the house. I also do not hold a grudge towards this particular contestant. Did the experience change your life in any way?

confident, outspoken, and I even ended up getting signed by two modeling agencies, one of those being Royalle Modelling Agency. It gave me the experience I needed to become more independent and built a sense of identity for me.

The experience did, indeed, change my life. It has made me more

I can't thank the Miss Multiverse Australia team enough.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am a qualified Makeup Artist and an experienced photographic & promotional model. I was signed with Edge Models in 2016 until 2019, I have had the privilege of representing brands such as Lonsdale, Bras ‘n Things, Jim Beam, Margaret River WA Tourism, Yamaha Motor Finance/Insurance, and Red Bull. Before filming Miss Multiverse Australia, I was working as a Fly In Fly Out Project Administrator in the mining industry. After competing in Miss Multiverse Australia, I was awarded the ‘Most Beautiful Face of the Year 2018’ at the Australian Beauty Pageant Awards.

How did you prepare for the competition?

I invested most of my attention to my business partnerships and sponsorships and my media presence. Looking back, I wish I had invested as much time into my fitness as well as those challenges were hard. What was the most challenging part of the competition for you?

I have to admit the fitness challenges were tough, especially as I had just returned to Australia after a three-month honeymoon through Europe and California. While I tried to keep on top of my training (I had the privilege to train in France © Red Silk Carpet July 2020

with Bay Fitness), I did not really push myself, because I was on vacation after all. It might not seem like it when watching the series, but the fitness day was grueling. As well as being filled with tough challenges, it was also an incredibly hot Australian day. We were all sunburnt by the end of the day. What is next for you?

My next goal is to complete my Certificate IV in Leadership & Management and to complete my young adult fiction novel. My ultimate dream is to one day write it as a screenplay and then produce it as a TV series.

Let's get to know more about one of the stunning contestants, Hannah Smith. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am a down to earth

selfless and caring person. I have completed two trades, including my Certificate III in hairdressing and my painting and decorating apprenticeship. I am currently studying my Bachelor of Psychological Science, and Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice. I am always looking to study and gain knowledge in areas that interest me. In my spare time, I am an actress/model I have featured on many tv shows/commercials and movies, including 60 minutes of Australia and Marvel's most recent film, which I cannot disclose name just yet. How did you prepare for the competition?

In the lead up to the competition, I did a lot of research on catwalk and photoshoots to really prepare myself for what was ahead. Even though I was already in great shape, I knew we had a lot of mental, and physical challenges to come, so I made sure my mind and body were in

© Red Silk Carpet July 2020

the best shape it has ever been by increasing my physical exercise and eating super healthy. Tell us about your experience during filming?

The show really challenged me and my confidence; at times, filming was extremely tiring, especially after a big day of physical exercise and sleep deprivation, but all of our hard work really did pay off in the end. I have grown so much as a person from miss multiverse Australia. What was the most challenging part of the competition for you?

The most challenging part of the competition for me was the first-ever catwalk training day, I just remember my hands were shaking so much I could not concentrate on my walking. Looking back now I think 'how was I that nervous?’ It seems like such a natural and easy thing for me to do now. That just shows how much I've grown.

Starting her career as a model, she has progressed into a Film and TV Producer, Festival Owner, serving on boards, and she has even been nominated Australian of the Year. It is no wonder that she accepted the National Directorship of the model contest, Miss Multiverse Australia. She leads the search for the country’s most amazing and multifaceted models to represent Australia at the world finals of Miss Multiverse. She is also the producer of the Reality TV Series that documents all the trials and tribulations, victories and achievements of girls during the contest. The TV Show is called “I Am Multiverse – Australia” and is a branch of the successful international version of the show.

As a previous Australian winner who represented Australia overseas in the Dominican Republic in 2016, she knows exactly what it takes to be a Miss Multiverse Australia. She also knows how to prepare for the world finals and what they are looking for. “I have learned what to do and what I should have done differently and would like to share that knowledge with our Australian winner,” says Yolandi Franken. She knows now, even more than before, that it is not nearly enough just to be a good model with model-looks and modeling skills. The competition is tough, and the judging criteria are not for the faint-hearted. Girls are tested mentally, physically, socially, intellectually, and the list goes on.

Only the best of the best will be sent overseas to hopefully bring back the crown. Yolandi has only known two things in her working life; Being in front of the cameras and being behind the cameras. As a Film and TV producer, as well as a model and presenter, being in charge of Miss Multiverse Australia was the next logical step in her career. It ties together all avenues of her professional life. It all happened at the right time for her. She has produced many awardwinning Feature Films, TV Shows, music videos, and much more. She is currently also Chair of WIFT (Women in Film & Television) NSW and WIFT Virtual. According to Yolandi, her proudest achievement was being nominated as Australian of the Year in

early 2016. Her film and TV career are growing fast with Miss Multiverse Australia being released on Amazon Prime and Tubi this year. Tabernacle 101, the film that she produced with director Colm O’Murchu, had its worldwide release in 2019 and has been accepted into numerous film festivals, even taking away some awards.

Her current big project, apart from Miss Multiverse Australia, is a feature film called “Streets of Colour,” which is a drama that focusses on selfacceptance and speaks out against racism. This film is Directed by Ronnie S.Riskalla and stars RahelRomahn, one of Australia’s rising stars.

Artist Cornelia Steckhan I'm not a political actor but an artist, I’m a CONCEPTUAL ARTIST.

If I should become famous only by painting genitals, dead children, the blood of dead people, or various horrific conditions, then I refrain from becoming famous. As an artist, I want to honestly say in my pictures everything I think, what I feel, what I criticize, sometimes in politics. I want to express my opinion, express my feelings and my honest thoughts without such cruelty through my pictures. Int.
