G8 Bonding Trip

Grade 8 Bonding Trip

The G8 bonding trip was a very challenging, but rewarding one. Though the bus trip seemed like forever, once we arrived at the meditation center in Khao Yai, we had lots of fun exploring the place.

Having arrived safely at our destination, we snacked upon snacks that were delightfully tasty, and then went off to see our sleeping quarters, before participating in a few bonding and recreational activities until late at night.

The next day, a few very energetic people decided to wake up early to go jogging while the rest of us woke up more slowly. The breakfast that followed was hearty, and we walked around the beautiful lake a few times and did walking meditation. I thought it was a good meditation that had a deeper meaning, with our walk across the lake symbolizing the depths of happiness and achieving tranquility. Later we did more bonding and

recreational activities such as a game of whisper and numerical groupings. For dinner we went to Midwinter and had a fantastic buffet of spaghetti carbonara, pizza, and some of the best roasted meat ever! We had fun playing card games, there was a live performance outside and we had a grand time on the balcony watching. The night was cheerful and we had a good time. Once we arrived back at the mindfulness center, we watched the movie Inside Out 2 before finally going back to our sleeping halls.

The final morning was peaceful and breakfast was followed by three more laps along the pond, where we pondered over questions and became more aware of the world around us. Then we settled for some more activities and a tasty lunch before we boarded the bus home. It was a very wholesome journey where we were able to connect with our peers in Grade 8.
