Grade 11
IB Retreat The G11 IB Retreat in Pattaya on September 14-16, 2023, was
an unforgettable experience that seamlessly blended learning and bonding, leaving a lasting impact on all of us. The trip commenced with a visit to a Deaf school, which not only exposed us to the world of social responsibility but also encouraged empathy and understanding. We witnessed the incredible resilience and talent of the students, learned animal sign language which was entertaining, reminding us of the importance of inclusivity and the value of giving back to our community. Throughout the retreat, our discussions on university choices, CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service), TOK (Theory of Knowledge), and EE (Extended Essay) were not just informative but also inspiring. We found ourselves engaging in meaningful conversations about our futures, our academic pursuits, and our personal growth. Watching a profoundly motivational movie together added another layer of inspiration, leaving us with a renewed sense of purpose and determination.
While the retreat was an enriching experience, there was a tinge of disappointment that we couldn't fully enjoy the beautiful Pattaya beaches due to certain restrictions. Nevertheless, the retreat extended beyond academics, immersing us in a vibrant atmosphere of laughter and unity. Mr. Clynt's drama activities had us in fits of laughter, forging connections that are bound to endure long after our IB journey. The comfortable hotel accommodations and delectable cuisine provided the ideal setting for relaxation and further strengthening our bonds. In summary, the G11 IB Retreat in Pattaya offered a well-rounded experience that not only deepened our understanding of the IB program but also solidified the relationships within our group, creating a cherished memory set to last for years to come. Best regards, Ty Bam Fern
