Greetings from our PYP Guidance Counselors

elcome back to school to all returning students and to all new students!

The school considers the overall wellbeing of the students very important as we want all of our students to be happy, successful, and resilient. Apart from being excellent in academics, students have been taught to gain the knowledge, understanding and skills to have social and emotional well-being.

PYP Guidance Counselors provide professional support to the Early Years and Primary Years students to help them develop age-appropriate social and emotional skills and provide assistance during times of transition, critical change, heightened stress, or other situations impeding student success. This helps the students to achieve their academic goals and career goals.

As part of our support:

• We teach bi-monthly Guidance lessons and Thai Value lessons in classrooms to students from Pre-K to Grade 5. Students learn to recognize their own and others’ feelings, emotional intelligence skills, healthy coping skills when dealing with stress, anxiety, and other strong feelings, friendship skills, social competence skills, problem-solving skills, bullying prevention and bullying response skills, conflictresolution skills, body safety lessons, career paths, and school core Values.

• We conduct individual and/or small group counseling sessions for students to help with issues related to social and emotional growth.

• We provide Orientation meetings to the new students and new parents before the beginning of the school year.

• We collaborate closely with Teachers and Parents to ensure the students’ success.

• We provide consultation to parents to ensure the students’ success.
