The 8th Chinese Temple Fair 2024

This year, the Year of the Dragon, brought us a special celebration. We enjoyed not just the traditional lion dance but also the thrilling dragon dance and sword dance, as well as the skillful singers singing Chinese festive songs.

The Fun Fair was a hit too, with games, art crafts, and the comeback of sharing delicious food. Both MYP and DP students joined in, creating a happy time for everyone.

We hope this Dragon Year brings success and prosperity to all. Special thanks are extended to all Concordians, especially to the dedicated performers, teachers, Design department, IT department, maintenance team, and office support team.

We wish everyone in the new year to “Rise Like a Dragon, Shine Like a Star.”

Students’ reflection

I had a very good time with my band rehearsing and performing for this year’s Sing! event. It was a very eye-opening experience to perform a Chinese song, expressing our identity as a multicultural community. The band also really enjoyed the performance because it was a display of our Chinese skills.

Being a part of the Lion Dance Team was an incredible experience and I learned lots of new things about Chinese culture. I hope in the future many new students will be able to participate in this activity and enjoy it just as much as I did.

This year I had the opportunity to join the Chinese sword dance activity. Initially, I was both excited and nervous about handling a Wushu sword, as I did not have prior experience with this. I would like to express my gratitude to both participants and the teachers that guided the way.

This year’s dragon dance was a spectacular experience for all of us. We filled the grand theater with the Chinese new year spirit, bringing joy to everybody. This unforgettable performance brought us joy, as well as our collaboration together as a team with the teachers.
