Trips&Expeditions
By: Fern, 9M Grade 9s, 10s and chaperons went to Chengdu Sichuan in November for Week Without Walls. The different weather and sight seeing painted our minds with colorful pictures and memories. The different highlighted locations were Dujiangyan irrigation system, panda breeding, Wuhou temple, jiuzhaigou, etc. Dujiangyan irrigation system demonstrated to us how ancient China controlled their water supply since it was constructed during 256 BC. Panda breeding put smiles on our faces and gave us information on how pandas are bred. Jiuzhaigou was one of the most beautiful sites we visited. The Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest area has been named a UNESCO world Heritage Site in part due to the vibrant river colors and Tibetan villages. We all would like to give special thanks to all of the chaperons and supervisors that set up the trips. This is certainly a trip that we all should cherish.
