Vikings set sail on new season By Logan Bagley Conley’s men’s basketball has been fiercely preparing for the upcoming 20142015 basketball season. With five seniors and three juniors on the roster this years team has more maturity and practice. Basketball coach Rob Maloney, said, “last years performance of 11-12 was not symbolic of how hard we worked to have a successful season.” Coach Maloney has high expectations for this season. Since Maloney has been coaching men’s basketball here the teams have made it to playoffs each year. Although Conley has been moved into an
extremely competitive league, the team is staying optimistic and pushing harder to better themselves. Maloney is planning to win state playoffs, not just make a one game appearance. Senior forward, Peyton Ahlers said, “we should get better as the season goes on, our chemistry on the court will get better.” Senior forward, Jeremy Cox said, “this years team is a lot more balanced and better that last year’s team was.” This season there are only three sophomores and one freshman on the team. Junior guard, Kendrick Greene said,

Maloney said, “the five players practicing with us now are improving very quickly. They are competing with seniors, Peyton Ahlers and Jeremy Cox.
