ABOUT CASEY ROMAN After a decade in TV news as a successful reporter and photographer, Casey Roman has taken her lenses on the road as she travels documenting small towns with unspoken heroes. Casey's photographic activities include shooting architecture, rural and urban street photography, people, landscapes and typical daily life. She will share what she has learned over the years and encourage you to identify and develop your own personal style.

EXPERTLY PLANNED This photography tour and workshop is planned with Villas-andVines for an exciting mix of cultural focus, landscapes and architectural photography. You'll be introduced to locals who are passionate about their country and love sharing it with others. With Villas-and-Vines managing the itinerary (i.e. hotels, excursions, gelato, drivers, etc.), Casey will be able to focus on her students instead of worrying about the logistics. 1

The Workshop with Casey ALL SKILL LEVELS ARE WELCOME Casey is with you throughout the trip to help you master your camera. Any type of camera is acceptable, including smartphones. For the beginner, an automatic camera can make the experience more fun and stress-free. Intermediate and advanced photographers are encouraged to build a stunning portfolio with a coherent style worthy of submitting to galleries, publishers, and contests rather than just random travel photos. Who hasn't dreamed of having a photographer with them throughout their vacation to not only show them how to capture great photos but to have a professional shooting your keepsake photos of you as well.

SUGGESTED PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT A DSLR camera with a manual setting. Preferable interchangeable lenses. A wide-angle lens for architecture photography A small travel tripod that extends to at least waist height Lightroom editing software (can be rented monthly for $11 and comes with a phone app) For those who wish to learn more about editing, carry a laptop with Lightroom installed. Ample camera batteries and charges with international plug adapters. This tour is suitable for novices including those who prefer using their cell phones and "idiot' cameras.

BRING YOUR PLUS ONE The trip price is based on double occupancy and we welcome your tour companion even if they aren't photographers. We'll keep them busy doing other fun things or they are free to go out and about on their own. There are plenty of markets, restaurants, shops, tours, local artisans, museums, churches, and landscapes. Although this is designed to be full of excursions there is plenty of time to wander through the quaint villages and to feast on regional foods and taste excellent Italian wines.

May 13 | Wednesday - Town of Amalfi and Ravello The first stop is Amalfi with its tightly packed Moorish style villas and palaces tidily lined up on the terraces sloping down toward the blue sea. It is a town of both intimate charm and magnificence and wedged between the sea and the rugged mountains. Life is centered around the open-air Piazza del Duomo, dominated by the flamboyant Sant' Andrea Cathedral. Perched high in the hills, the village of Ravello is an eccentric maze of stone staircases and medieval houses built around an 11th-century cathedral. The historic center is free of traffic which is an added plus. You won't want to miss a visit to the gardens at Villa Cimbrone. It's famous for the Terrace of Infinity, suspended between the sky and the sea it has views of the dramatic, sheer drop down the mountainside and panorama overlooking the Bay of Salerno. This evening is our last night on the Amalfi Coast everyone will enjoy a nice dinner at one of the local restaurants.
