Work will require various levels of physical conditioning, but there will be a job for everyone. Work includes digging, sifting dirt, washing pottery and finds and sorting and cataloguing finds. Suggested Schedule for Work Days:
5:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Daily work on the site 9:00 a.m. - 9:40 a.m. - Breakfast at the site 1:00 p.m - Lunch at the hotel 4:30 p.m - 6:30 p.m - Lab work and pottery reading 7:00 p.m - Dinner at the hotel 8:00 p.m - 9:00 p.m - Lecture
Accommodations - Kibbutz Ginosar Inn; Air-Conditioned cottages (subject to change). During the Dig 3 meals are included into the price. Transfers and tips are not included and payable in Israel.
4-Day Cairo Eygpt Extension
Cairo and the Route of the Exodus Extension price $798 Minimum 10 passengers
Day 10 Early morning departure from Jerusalem. Cross the Sinai, traveling ancient caravan routes across the Sinai to the base of Mt. Sinai for overnight. Day 11 Visit the Monastery of Saint Catherine at the base of Mount Sinai. Trace the route of the Exodus along the eastern Sinai coast to Wadi Feiran where the Children of Israel withstood the Amalekites. Travel to Elim where the Children of Israel camped by the oasis of 70 palm trees. Your final stop of the day will be Marah by the Red Sea where the “waters were bitter.” Continue to Cairo for dinner and a three night stay. Day 12 Travel south to view Joseph’s River and Lake, created by Joseph during the period of the seven years of famine. Visit a grain silo of the kind established under Joseph’s rule to store grain during the seven years of famine. Tour the rural region of traditional Egyptian farming and stop at an old corn water mill. Travel as Abraham did to Memphis (Biblical Noph) and on to Sakkara where you will see the Step Pyramid, the world’s oldest stone structure. See the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Day 13 Admire the ancient treasures of the Egyptian Museum. Follow the flight of the Holy Family into Egypt as you explore the Coptic Hanging Church, the Coptic Museum and Ben Ezra Synagogue. Visit the Citadel and Mohammed Ali Mosque. Day 14 Depart Egypt and arrive in the USA. 3-Day Jordan & Petra Extension

Day 11 Travel to Petra, one of the new wonders of the world, the city, literally cut into the cliff sides. Return to Amman for a late dinner and overnight. Day 12 Drive to Jerash, the Greco Roman city, (known as Pompaii of the middle East) visit the Roman Theatre, the Forum, street of Columns, Hadrian Arch, temple of Artimas, Jabbok river, where Jacob wrestled with the Angles of the Lord.
