THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT We are grateful for YOU and so many friends who have chosen to Give with Us through our Emergency Food Relief program, the Maternity Home, as well as sustainable solutions such as Urban Farming and Clean Water Projects. We could not have achieved so much in 2020 if it were not for generous people like yourself. This year we have battled the pandemic, hurricanes, travel challenges, and deep personal loss. We have been steadfast in our mission above all and have continued to share the love and hope of Jesus through all that we have accomplished.
2020 ACHIEVEMENTS Because of your giving we have served 723 mothers and their precious new babies at the Maternity Home and this year have already invested $51,616 towards our 24/7 operations of this home! In addition to our everyday operations at the Maternity Home, our teams have been able to invest $22,143 in food, water, and other vital resources to those most impacted by COVID-19 shutdowns and Hurricanes Eta and Iota. This year also marks our third school year that we have focused on providing school scholarships though our Education Fund and invested $10,747 this year which brings the total to $37,369! None of this could be done if it were not for you! Connect Global has been building relationships around the world with change-makers, entrepreneurs, go-getters and essential workers for the purpose of sharing the love and hope of Jesus in tangible and sustainable ways. You make this organization what it is today!

Saving Lives
We are grateful to be able to make such a tangible impact in the Community of El Porvenir, Honduras. We are happy to be building a strong connection with these men and women and to be able to share both physical and spiritual support with the Fire and Rescue teams of Honduras. On March 13, Connect Global was able to give the gift of a new ambulance to the hardworking crew at the Fire Department in El Porvenir. This has significantly bolstered their ability to save lives on a daily basis. We are beyond grateful for each individual who chose to Give with Us to make sure that this ambulance could be purchased.
As a part of our ongoing support and investment into the city of La Ceiba and the surrounding communities across Honduras our team has also provided medic training, fire suits, medical equipment, vehicle maintenance and other job related necessities like communication radios. We still want to provide a sustainable water source for the fire department in El Porvenir to help fill the fire engine.

EMERGENCY FOOD RELIEF
During Covid-19 Honduras is one of the most poverty stricken nations in this hemisphere. Many people live day to day not knowing where their next meal will come from. The pandemic worsened this issue. Since March 15 we have been able to provide thousands of meals to people in need. We have worked with local leaders to ensure we are getting help to those experiencing the greatest degree of need and that we are doing it safely and securely.

We have heard time and again that this relief has been an answer to prayer. That is a direct testament to how faith is connected to our actions. We like to say that compassion without action is just observation.

Things have been even more uncertain during the 2020 global health crisis. Resources are tapped at every level including the Regional Hospital Atlรกntida. Our teams have been donating gloves, gowns, masks, and many other vital items all throughout the pandemic. Thanks to a generous donor we have been working to restore an ambulance that is out of commission at the Hospital. Connect Global loves serving these frontline heroes. Strategic Partners
Connect Global has delivered over $16,000 worth of food and personal care products since March 15th. These deliveries have been made in the form of “Family Food Bags” as well as bulk food delivered to Strategic Care Ministries. We have worked hand in hand with the local Pastor’s Association (APEC), local orphanages, senior care facilities, a local drug and alcohol rehabilitation center and a church-led feeding center providing food for the homeless and food-insecure. In every case we’ve been able to share much more than food; we’ve also been able to share the Good News of Jesus.

We have been able to help many. With no end in sight for this crisis, there are still people in grave need of basic things like food & water. By the end of 2020, about 100 million additional people are projected to find themselves in extreme poverty, living on less than $1.90 a day.*

SUSTAINABILITY
Urban Farms
Connect Global has been investing in Aquaponics since our inception. In
fact, on our first organizational trip to Cusuna, Honduras in 2009 the Connect Global team built 5 aquaponic systems. Our National Director Jorge Amador has built several complete systems and taught dozens of people how to duplicate them successfully. Connect Global will continue to invest in sustainable solutions to solvable problems like food scarcity, and lack of access to clean water. Our Aquaponics program has been expanding in 2020 as a part of our overall strategy to serve those affected by COVID-19. As people fall below the poverty line it is important to focus on long-term plans to help them provide for their families.

AQUAPONICS Aquaponics is a hybrid of hydroponic methods of growing healthy vegetables and growing an aqua culture such as tilapia in a series of tanks and grow beds. In a small system like the ones here, the fish waste is used as a fertilizer for the vegetation which in turn pull nutrients out of the water. This process also filters the water so that it can then be recycled back into the fish tank to help oxygenate the water. A single Fish tank totals 450 gallons of water. This system utilizes 90 percent less water than traditional in ground gardening. The nutrient rich water is more sustainable and can be used to fortify the overly farmed top soil.
From a hand sketch to reality Connect Global is working to build 50 urban farm systems across the northern coast of Honduras. We built 4 systems in La Ceiba during the pandemic in addition to one that our National Director, Jorge Amador, was able to oversee completion of virtually in Costa Rica.
So many people have benefitted from this solution over the years and we are honored to be partnering with some very like minded strategic partners in and around La Ceiba to make this available to even more people. As these systems are made available we will be able to immediately improve the quality of life for people suffering today, as well as instill a hope for a prosperous future.
EDUCATION
Unlocking Potential We have been involved in supporting education initiatives in Honduras since Connect Global was formed. One of the most effective ways Connect Global has been able to reach the surrounding communities of La Ceiba, Honduras is by advocating for education.
Connect Global has been building an Education Scholarship Program in Honduras with several students since 2017. We invite everyone to join this very special group of partners in the US and Honduras who have chosen to Give With Us towards this cause so we can continue to expand the program. We are blessed to invest in such amazing students and school leaders through this Education Scholarship Fund. Each school we collaborate with provides a high quality, private, Christian education to students in Spanish and in English.

MATERNITY HOME
Love Never Fails
During our extensive work in La Ceiba we, at Connect Global, had observed a very difficult challenge facing new and expecting mothers. We diligently learned as much as we could about this problem and more importantly devised a plan to provide a solution. New and Expectant Mothers were being displaced while they waited for beds to open up before delivery, and were given no room to recover post delivery. Moms were left to wait outside leading up to and immediately after delivery to save beds for women who were in active delivery. Women would sleep on makeshift cardboard pallets on the floors or crowded benches that line the open air hallways outside the delivery rooms. This of course is uncomfortable, dangerous, and would leave the mothers susceptible to germs, and outdoor afflictions such as Zika, and Malaria.
Now each mother who delivers their child in La Ceiba has a safe and clean place to recover and receive care from our knowledgeable and compassionate national team. The Maternity Home opened on September 11th, 2019. The Connect Global team is providing 24/7 care for the mothers of La Ceiba and the entire northern coast of the department of AtlĂĄntida. In our first 12 months we had the honor of serving 547 mothers. We are grateful to see the community jump in to serve and Give With Us towards this life giving ministry.
