Please look through this “2011 Activities” book for many NEW programs. Even though we are still undergoing many renovations as part of our Sustainable Campus Initiative, our team has been working diligently to ensure a memorable experience at the Conservancy Nature Center. The exciting changes include new operating hours, monthly ecothemes, a “mini” Nature Zone where many of our Discovery Center residents are located as we create the new Dalton Discovery Center, hourly educational programs to enhance your visit, “Take Action Tuesdays” where you can get involved with preserving our paradise, and our “Sensational Saturdays,” a celebration for the entire family. Of course, you can still enjoy hourly electric boat cruises, compliments of our volunteer boat captains, beginning at 12 noon (11 AM on Saturdays) up until 3 PM. Our new nature field trips are not to be missed. Discover the Everglades, fossils, flowers, photo opportunities, cruises, kayaking and more. Our 2011 “Earth Day” festival is Saturday, April 16, 9 AM – 3 PM with remote parking and a free shuttle. Be sure to mark your calendars for the “Magic Under the Mangroves” gala fundraiser in March, Dining for Wildlife in April and the RedSnook Catch and Release Tournament in October. As we look forward to re-opening the entire Campus in 2012, please join us this year to celebrate nature and help us protect our water, our land, our wildlife…and our future.
