Lighthouse of Collier’s campers swung into their 2nd week of camp at the Arthur L. Allen Tennis Center. The blind/vision impaired campers played tennis with sound balls and a large tennis racket. The sound balls (made of foam with a ping pong ball inside a ball bearing) allowed the campers to
hear the ball so that they too can learn to play the sport. Thank you to Kevin Walker, Tennis Pro, and all the staff at the tennis center. Then the campers swung over to the Conservancy of SWFL where David Webb and his staff provided a sensory experience at the Dalton Discovery Center. Campers touched snakes, alligators and various sea creatures while listening to the sounds of nature. The program ended with an electric boat ride tour of the Conservancy of SWFL where the campers could hear and smell nature. Thank you Cheryl Latif, David Webb and Staff. The 4th Annual Summer Camp is made possible by the very generous donations of American Comfort Limousines, Naples Area Board of Realtors, Naples Children & Education Foundationfounders of the Naples Winter Wine Festival, Special Needs Children’s Fund, The Naples Beach Hotel and United Way of Collier County.
