OUR MISSION: To provide resources and forums for cross-industry collaboration. WHO WE ARE We are the people you work with every day – owners and facility managers, architects and engineers, contractors and subcontractors, project managers, consultants, manufacturers and distributors, governmental agencies, lawyers, accountants, and many other industry-related colleagues. The Construction Institute is known for its dedicated and engaged membership, high quality programs, practical professional development workshops taught by experienced industry peers, and building industry connections by providing opportuities to teach, speak, and publish, and to network through committee work and social events. The Construction Institute has a vibrant and growing knowledge network. We are a real and virtual think tank. We cultivate a culture of sharing, exchanging and building. Our members are the creators of the built-environment.

HISTORY AND VALUES The Construction Institute was founded in 1976 on the idea that our industry needed a platform for clear and open dialogue among the different disciplines. As technology and the industry were growing more complex, it became apparent that only by working together as colleagues would the AEC industry achieve its full potential. This is the heart of the Construction Institute and we call it multidisciplinary collaboration, which supports the development of multidisciplinary fluency. We are a network of visionary leaders and skilled professionals that inspire and drive our industry by providing resources, professional education, forums, signature programs and opportunities to lead the future of construction. Uniquely, we foster true collaboration among owners, architects, engineers, contractors, service providers, and other organizations for the sole purpose of existing to bring these groups together equitably. Our reach and influence began regionally and has grown nationally to even international participation through membership connections, online learning platforms and broadcasted programming. We have become who we are today from the support of major corporations and outstanding professionals donating and volunteering their time and efforts for the betterment of the industry.
