2024 Activities at a Glance
CitA had a very successful year in 2024 Figures 1 and 2 below illustrate the performance of the business in terms of events and training activities. CitA presented a successful Digital Skills Series (400+ attendees) in 2024 which focused on a range of practical digital skills needed in the construction industry. nted a very successful CitA Tech Live in Limerick on AI: The Next Frontier for Irish Construction (130+ attendees).
CitA Skillnet delivered training over 7,000 training days in 2024 and has secured funding for training in 2025.
In March of 2024, CitA won the tender to deliver the Skillnet MMC Accelerate Programme The programme involves building a national platform and delivering a series of in-person, interactive events across the country to showcase regional activity, promote MMC adoption, careers and upskilling, industry and government supports.

2025 will see the return of the popular CitA BIM Gathering which will be the 7th Gathering Conference since its introduction in 2013. This year the event will be hosted in Dublin. This one-day conference will conclude with a Gala dinner. Provisional details of the proposed event are included below.

Conference Overview
The BIM Gathering 2025 is the 7th in the BIM Gathering event series and will broadly continue the theme of “Automation”. It celebrates 25 years of innovation in digital construction, focusing on the evolution of Building Information Modelling (BIM) standards, automation, and AI integration. This milestone event also coincides with the 25th anniversary of CitA, when the initiative began in DIT Bolton Street (now TU Dublin) in 1999. The conference will examine how Ireland has been at the forefront of digital transformation in construction, shaping global BIM practices while addressing the future of automated workflows and AI-powered solutions.
Attendees will explore the practical applications of BIM standards, automation tools, and AI-driven processes while looking forward to how digitalisation will help shaped the industry’s future. In addition to industry presentations the conference will facilitate for peer-reviewed papers to be submitting to a formal scientific committee to be reviewed and included in the conference programme.
