AI: The Next Frontier for Irish Construction 9th October, 2024, Limerick, Ireland

Welcome to Limerick and Welcome to CitA Tech Live 2024

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is emerging as one of the most transformative technologies in the world today driving change and disruption across many industries. Its rapid development is due to the ability to train computers to mimic human cognitive thinking. As more and more rich data is harvested, this cognitive ability will reach sophisticated levels of accuracy in the future.

AI in construction has the potential to achieve optimized, higher quality and more sustainable solutions across design, tendering, financing, procurement, construction, operations and asset management. As advancements in AI and machine learning (ML) continue to work together, computers will become more and more sophisticated to support and eventually replicate the many tasks and skills that we need our trades and professional people to possess today. AI will be a progressive but powerful tool that will transform and disrupt the industry thus we must prepare for this change. Those that can identify the business opportunities will reap the benefits.

The purpose of this conference is to have a mature reflection on the current and emerging capability

The Programme

of AI to change the industry for the better, creating a safer, smarter, leaner, greener and more sustainable sector and as a consequence attracting more people into construction.

We are delighted to be in Limerick as it is an ideal location for this event, with the presence of two Universities, multiple SFI funded research centres, multiple foreign direct investment companies and the presence of their iconic €1 billion Limerick 2030 infrastructure project together with active local commercial, industrial and residential construction activity.

I look forward to meeting our sponsors, speakers and delegates at what will be another successful Tech Live event in 2024.
