Half term PITSHANGER The February mid-term break saw Ealing’s parks and playgrounds put to cheerful good use by the borough’s younger citizens. Then, as the weather brightened, a pattern of purple crocuses popped up outside the Pitshanger Park play area. Featuring a neat star in a perfect circle, it’s most likely the handiwork of local gardening fairies.

Thank you so much. There is a huge market for parties, however I think the bigger picture is giving back. If we can make a child happy or help families build memories to be cherished, that is what is important.

She’s mad, that Milly Marion Nickolson aka Milly Madness Entertainment former circus acrobat and trapeze artist, is one of Ealing’s favourite children’s entertainers. In our Q&A she confesses she does still miss the circus... You’re pretty handy with a couple of balloons, where did you learn to make balloon dogs? I learnt balloon animals whilst training for the circus. You have to learn everything – the more you do the more likely you are to be employed. It is very competitive. I am also trained in floor and aerial acrobatics, make up magic, ballet and modern dance and clowning. I was very lucky that my coach, ex-international acro champion, Poppy Clemency, trained us all to grab a hold of every opportunity and to go and

What’s a day in the life of Milly like? It starts at around 6am. I spend the day answering the telephone and looking after my children Evie, two, and James, one. James had a rocky start so I am so blessed that I have been able to be at home with him. Then at 7:30pm my super husband Chris comes home and I go to my office to do the paperwork and look after my entertainers, plus the beloved marketing and accounts, repairing the costumes, social media, etc. I normally get home around midnight. Weekends are party party party – I personally do six parties each weekend. My entertainers are normally all fully booked so that takes a lot of organisation. We are a well oiled machine and I have such amazing people around me. May the madness ever be mad!

knock on doors yourselves. It was hard work but I did it. Do you ever miss the circus? I miss parts of the circus; I miss my team who became my extended family. I don’t miss the mud the cold and the wet weather. What I have now would not have happened if I was still in the circus. Plus I would not be living in Ealing! I love Ealing! Congratulations opening up Milly Madness branches in Cornwall and Manchester – is the market for children’s parties growing?
