동네 인식 미아리라는 이름은 이 곳이 아니며, 동선동은 좋은 동네
주민들과의 소통 소통은 거의 없지만 주민의 인식은 불편함 프로젝트에 의견 역술문화를 단순한 볼거리 보다는 우리 일상 속의 문화로 인식되기 바람 2. 시각장애복지관 담당자 시각장애자의 불편사항 보도를 걸을 때 후각 및 청각에 의존, 사고발생 위험 시각장애자의 사회진출 여건 안마사, 역술인 모두 전문직종으로 인정 프로젝트에 대한 의견 환경개선 우선, 적극참여 의사
시각장애인 분들에 대한 인식 오래 있었고 땅도 있는 사람들이기 때문에 쫓아 낼 순 없지만 달갑지 않음 주변 환경에 대한 인식 공원이나 애들이 놀 공간이 있어야 동네가 좋아질 것임 2. 슈퍼마켓 주인 동네 인식 살기에 나쁘진 않지만 미아리라는 이름은 싫음 시각장애인 분들에 대한 인식 생활패턴도 다르고 길에 있으면 교통에 방해가 됨 점성촌과 환경 인식 간판정리를 하면 좋겠음

역술 (Traditional Fortune-telling) 역사적으로 고려시대 때부터 국가적으로 시각장애인들이 스스로 삶을 살아갈 수 있도록 그들의 직업으로서 제도적으로 지원하는 점술의 한 형태

고 려 800여 년의 역사, 원종(1259~1274) 때부터 기록이 있음 <고려사>에 충렬왕 때 심한 가뭄이 들어 맹인이 기우제를 행함
조 선 <조선왕조실록>에 성종 때 점치는 일을 업으로 하는 맹인들로 하여금 기우제를 올리게 함 역학이 천시 받는데도 불구하고 계속 발전하며 중요한 사회기능을 가짐
일 제 미신을 타파한다는 이유로 맹인 역술인들을 탄압함
현 대 21세기 디지털 시대에도 현실적으로
시각장애인들이 가질 수 있는 직업은 안마, 침술, 역술 정도 청각에 예민한 시각장애인들이 컴퓨터 음악 같은 전문 분야에서 두각을 나타내는 사례가 있지만 이 역시 최근의 일일 뿐더러, 누구나 배워서 하기에는 선천적인 재능이 요구되는 분야임 안마, 침술, 역술 가운데 가장 오랜 연원을 가진 것은 역술

Who are they? - 1950년대 이전 종로 3가에 맹인 점술가들 집단 거주 - 한국전쟁 당시 남산으로 옮겨갔으나 남산 주변 정비로 제각기 흩어짐 - 1960년대 말 철원철학관을 시작으로 미아리 고개로 모여들어 정착, 집단 거주지역 형성 - 사회복지법인 대한맹리역리학회 회원 중심, 내부적으로 강한 결속력 - 현재 점성촌의 점술가들은 100% 시각장애인 - 역술의 학문적인 측면을 중시함, 신내림을 받아 미래를 예언하는 무속인은 없음 - 사주, 신수, 택일, 이사, 취직, 작명 등의 품목들을 취급
Where do they live in? - 성북구 동선2동, 미아리 고갯길 도로 양편, 굴다리 근처에 다수의 점집 - 상대적으로 저렴한 집값, 대로변에 비해 신원 노출에 대한 염려가 적었던 탓 - 역술인의 60% 정도가 자택 소유(대부분 한옥구조), 비교적 안정된 생활 유지
How many are they? - 현재 약 70호 가량 영업 중 - 30대부터 80대까지 다양한 연령층

- 사회복지법인 대한맹인복지회, 1998년 미아리고개에 성북시각장애인복지관 설립 - 점자도서출판, 정보화 교육, 아동교육, 직업재활교육, 각종 상담과 인식개선 사업 운영
역학인 양성교육 사업 - 1981년 역리학회가 역학교육 시작, 현재 복지관의 정식 재활교육 프로그램 - 만 18세~60세 이하 1~3급 등록시각장애인을 대상으로 1년간 체계적으로 교육 - 직업인으로서 역량을 갖추고 경제활동을 할 수 있도록 자립 지원 및 창업 지도 - 후학양성 뿐 아니라 시각장애인들의 정서적 구심점 역할 - “눈 잃은 아픔은 우리가 가장 잘 알기 때문에 가장 필요한 교육을 해야 한다” (심남용, 1기 졸업생, 복지관 관장)
