MODULE 1
CLASS 1 JESUS IS MY SHEPHERD
connect Aims and Objectives • Aims and Objectives: • To build anticipation and excitement for the class. • Estimated time: 10-15 Minutes • Choose one or more of the following activities to fit into the allotted time.
resources • DVD Player (Computer or iPad) • Projector • Colored Paper • Notebooks (1 for each student) • Printout of class outline • Printout of Calendar of Class Schedule (you have to make this beforehand) • Printout of Prophecy Worksheet (1 per student)
Activity 1 ( estimated Time: 10-15 Minutes )
Activity 3 ( estimated Time: 5 Minutes )
• Students trickle in from registration. As they do, they gather up into groups of 4 or 5. In that group, they write a chant or song for Destiny Training. • At the end of 8 minutes, groups come up and perform their chant/song. The class votes by cheering at the end. The winning team wins a bag of candy to share and their chant becomes our class’ chant. Try to record this for future Destiny Training promo videos or videos to report to the church the success of the class.
• Psalm 23 is the biblical foundation for this module. In this first part of the class we are going to learn Psalm 23 with actions. • Split the class up into groups of 3 or 3 groups. • Challenge them to find creative ways to memorize Psalm 23. • Draw the class together to show the slide with the classes for each verse/lesson. • Distribute a calendar of dates for the classes. • In pairs discuss: “How I met Jesus.” • Share with one person your encounter with Jesus: - Mention one change in your life as a result. - Mention one time that he has answered your prayers.
Activity 2 ( estimated Time: 10 Minutes ) • Play the introduction video entitled: What is Destiny Training? • At this point students can also set the class expectations as a group with the teacher facilitating and recording. When adult students set the expectations that will govern them, they are often times more apt to comply. Our goals: What you will learn in this course. Teacher reiterates the aims and objectives for the training program.
