History School of Social Sciences Library collections The Library subscribes to a range of print and electronic resources for staff and students of History and related subject areas.

Electronic resources A number of key resources are available online. You can access these from the Subject pages link on the Library homepage. Specific e-journal titles subscribed to by the Library can be accessed via the e-Journals link. You will need to login to the e-Library via the Library homepage to access electronic resources both on and off campus: www.brunel.ac.uk/library Key databases The databases and e-journal collections allow you to discover what articles are available in journals, conference proceedings and other forms of literature. Academic Search Complete Contains full text articles from over 3,000 periodicals, including 370 Area Studies and 550 History journals. Also covers Politics and Political Science and International Relations journals. Historical Abstracts Historical Abstracts is a complete reference guide to the history of the world from 1450 to the present (excluding the United States and Canada).movies to the latest blockbusters.

JSTOR Archive collection of full text electronic journals, from 1880 to date. The collection only includes material that is over three years old. Subject areas include: History, Middle Eastern Studies and Political Science. Taylor and Francis Journals Full text of all journals published by Taylor & Francis. Subjects covered include History and Area Studies - covers Asia Pacific, Russia and the Middle East.

Recommended websites You will find lists of useful web resources that are freely available on the internet on the History subject page: www.brunel.ac.uk/services/library/subjects/history Resources are divided into several categories covering General, Research and Subject Specific sources. Although websites can be good sources of primary source material, finding reliable sources can be difficult. One place to search for quality online web resources is: Intute: www.intute.ac.uk/history Please note that from July 2011, this resource is no longer being updated.
