24-26 September 2013 SS Rotterdam I Rotterdam

Dear Participant, We are delighted to bring Cool Logistics Global to Rotterdam for the first time and to welcome you all on-board this fitting flagship for an event that has established itself as the ‘voice of the perishables sector’. Rotterdam is a leading international trade gateway for perishables and major investments are now afoot to further strengthen its lead as Europe’s premier reefer box port. We are grateful for the generous support given by the Port of Rotterdam Authority, our host port for this year’s conference and next, and also for the active participation of the Dutch cool logistics community, as sponsors, speakers and delegates. Thanks are also due to all of our sponsors, and of course our speakers, without whom this event would not be possible. Fresh fruit, meat and fish remain the backbone of the global maritime perishable business and this week is an opportunity to celebrate the successes, perseverance and resilience of all involved, as well as to explore how carriers and customers will find common ground to meet current and future challenges. We are also pleased to have been able to expand the airfreight sector of the conference, which remains a vital element in the global cold chain, as well as to delve more deeply into the fledgling intermodal sector. We are equally proud to bring to you at least two world premieres at this event, one of which will stay ‘under wraps’ until the last day of the conference. Our goal in these few days is to provide a chance for all the stakeholders to come together and discuss how to tackle rising costs, capacity, quality and regulatory pressures against the backdrop of growing world trade in food, flowers, pharmaceuticals and other perishable goods. We are especially pleased to welcome more perishable cargo owners and shippers from more countries than ever before, along with senior figures in international fresh and frozen logistics from Latin America, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. We hope that Cool Logistics Global provides you with a great opportunity to make and renew valuable business contacts and to compare experiences, expectations and approaches with your fellow attendees. You are warmly encouraged to engage actively with speakers and participants both during sessions and social networking events. Our very best wishes for an enjoyable few days and please don’t hesitate to let us know if there is anything we can do to help you make the most of your time here. Kind regards The Cool Logistics team
