id Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich not talk before they got married? The former America’s Got Talent judge recently revealed that she waited until months after their 2017 “I do”s to break it to her husband that she’s “not straight.” Her revelation led to sessions with a sexologist to find their “erotic blueprint,” lots of TMI about their time between the sheets and, eventually, a “conscious uncoupling,” according to an insider. But even after all that, Brooks is still trying to fill a void. “Here’s an honest question for everybody: Are you fully, 100 percent fully expressed in your true

sexuality?…. I’m not,” the former hockey player, 36, said on his How Men Think podcast on Jan. 20. “Do you even know who you are sexually? And I truly, to my core, do not. But I’m super excited about that journey to really learn about sexuality and also get better at the performance of it, but also just the understanding of who I am….” As for how Julianne, 31, fits into his exciting new journey of self-discovery, days before the podcast Brooks told In Touch that she’s “been very supportive of this transition phase in my life as well.” Um, again, did they not talk before they got married?!

PERFECT — OR PICK SOMEONE ELSE!

Now that Jeopardy! contestant Ken Jennings has officially been crowned the Greatest of All Time, fans have suggested he replace beloved host Alex Trebek, who announced that 2020 may be his last year on the classic game show, amid his battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Ken, 45, “would make the transition easier for loyal fans,” says one, while another notes that he “has the quick wit needed.” But others argue that he “does not seem to have the charisma that Alex has.” (Meanwhile, Alex, 79, thinks the new host should be a woman.) One person who’s not ready to speculate? Ken himself. “It’s very flattering,” he says, but “to even think about that would require imagining a version of Jeopardy! without Alex, and I’m not emotionally prepared to do that at any point.”

Despite three nominations and the news that she would make a surprise performance, Taylor Swift was a no-show at the Grammys. Lisa Marie Presley is accused of blowing her father’s massive ne fortune — but is someo else to blame?

HE SAID, SHE SAID

Elvis’ fans and family members gathered in Memphis, Tenn., at his Graceland estate to mark what would have been the King’s 85th birthday on Jan. 8. Lisa Marie wanted to take her kids, Finley and Harper, to honor their grandfather, but dad Michael — whom Lisa Marie is divorcing and locked in a bitter custody with — said no. “He thinks she only wants photo ops with the twins,” says a family insider. The exes have a court order requiring permission from the other parent to take the kids out of California, so Lisa asked a court to overrule Michael. On Jan. 7, a judge rejected her request, ruling that Elvis’ birthday party wasn’t an emergency.

S

crushed that the money is gone — also reportedly refused to use her own $50 million fortune to help her daughter. The family insider claims Lisa Marie also “blew through her millions because of a nasty drug habit, rehab stays and alternative sobriety methods that didn’t work. She would go on trips around the world, self-produce her music and never think about the costs or her dwindling bank account. She also didn’t exactly pick the greatest guys,” adds the insider. “Many of them would just use her for her money or to be close to the Elvis legacy.” In 2018, Lisa Marie admitted that all these

decades after Elvis’ death, she still seeks her daddy’s guidance. “I wouldn’t say I talk to him…. I just remember everything,” she said, explaining that even though she was just 9 when he died, “I can sort of pull out of the files whatever memories I have and stuff like that. And occasionally ask for help.” She needs his strength now more than ever. As the custody battle continues and she awaits a trial date for the Siegel case, “Lisa Marie’s trying to save the last bit of money she has,” says the insider. “The legal fees alone are astronomical. She can’t believe this is how her life has turned out.” ◼ INTO UCHWEE KLY.CO M 27

he started out as the shy, insecure Bachelor contestant who broke down during her first group date and freaked out when her ex-boyfriend showed up to entertain her and Peter Weber, 28, on their one-on-one. “It’s hard for me to stick out,” Victoria Fuller wailed to the camera. “I’m never gonna be the girl who’s the center of attention.” Well, she is now. After one Twitter user pointed out in January that the Virginia Beach, Va., 25-yearold had modeled a hat for a company that sells “White Lives Matter” gear, Victoria was accused by many fans of being racist. But those who know the medical sales rep say that’s not the only reason Peter should be wary. “The Victoria on the show is not who she is in real life,” her former acquaintance Merissa Pence tells In Touch. “She’s actually really confident and told me that she wants to be on the show to

be famous. She’s known as a homewrecker in our community, and she’s nasty to other people. Peter needs to watch out.” SHADY PAST Victoria has a bad reputation back home. While Merissa acknowledges, “I’ve never heard her say anything racist,” she adds, “I do know she didn’t want Mike [Johnson] to be the Bachelor.” Peter isn’t exactly her type, either, says Merissa, adding that Victoria is known for hooking up with men who are in relationships. “She has broken up four marriages,” claims Merissa, adding that she’s friends with some of the women who were affected. “It’s a small town, and everyone was talking about it.” When the talk hit the internet before the show began, Victoria defended herself. “The rumors are false,” she wrote on Instagram on Nov. 22. And a friend of hers insists the allegations aren’t true,

telling In Touch, “what you see on TV is how she really is — definitely very reserved.” But she is starting to come out of her shell. The run-in with her exboyfriend Chase Rice on the Jan. 27 episode (see sidebar) led to an explosive altercation with fellow contestant Alayah Benavidez — and the drama only intensifies. “Victoria is the most everything,” teases host Chris Harrison. “Passionate would be an understatement. On top of the passion, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a single woman on this show go through as much as she does.” Now it’s up to Peter to figure out the truth about her. “My biggest fear in this is getting blindsided,” the California pilot has confessed of his journey to find love. “I hate feeling like I might be being fooled right now.” He definitely is, says Merissa: “He has no idea who she truly is. He needs to be warned.” ◼

IS THIS THE MOST MANIPULATIVE SEASON EVER?

HANNAH’S APPEARANCE

During a tearful talk with former Bachelorette Hannah Brown, Peter asked her to move into the mansion. Though the show made it seem like she considered it, the scene was taped when she was filming Dancing With the Stars!

CHAMPAGNE-GATE

Kelsey Weier brought champagne for Peter, but he opened it with Hannah Ann Sluss instead — a move that reeked of producer meddling. “I can’t say that certain things [on the show] just happen by accident,” says ABC exec Robert Mills.

FAKING IT?

“Victoria didn’t show her true colors on TV,” her former pal Merissa Pence tells In Touch.

CHASE RICE WAS DUPED

“They set everybody up,” says the singer, who was hired to perform, only to be surprised to see his ex Victoria. “I didn’t sign up for that. I went on to promote my music. That’s all it should have been, and it wasn’t.”

t’s been nearly a year since life fell apart for Lori Loughlin. Ever since last March — when prosecutors revealed the actress and her fashion designer husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were indicted for allegedly paying a $500,000 bribe to get their daughters, Olivia Jade, 20, and Isabella, 21, into the University of Southern California — Lori has struggled to accept her new reality: fired from Netflix’s Fuller House and Hallmark Channel’s When Calls the Heart, abandoned by friends and facing up to 45 years in jail. Says a family insider, “She wakes up every morning hoping that it was all a bad dream.” Not only is the nightmare real, it’s getting much worse. Prosecutors are pressuring Lori, 55, and Mossimo, 56, to change their plea from not guilty to guilty — or they could call Isabella and Olivia to testify against them at the upcoming trial. “Lori is shattered, because either way she loses. She swore she wouldn’t change her plea to guilty, but if she doesn’t she may have to watch as her daughters testify on the stand against her,” says the insider. The vise is tightening even more. On Feb. 8, Reelz will air the bombshell original special College Admissions Scandal: Varsity Blues, a gripping investigative report that reveals this scheme may have been only a small part of a bigger web of corruption. As the walls close in on Lori and Mossimo, “the clock,” says the insider, “is ticking.” PAYING THE PRICE Government officials are growing restless. Unlike Felicity Huffman — who was also implicated in the scandal, pleaded guilty, served 11 days in jail in October and is now on supervised release for a year — Lori and Mossimo have long maintained their innocence. But in a Jan. 14 court filing, federal prosecutors unveiled more evidence against several defendants who pleaded not guilty, including Lori and Mossimo (see box). And in an effort to divide and conquer the Giannulli family, prosecutors reportedly threatened to turn Isabella and Olivia, who may have had knowledge of the alleged scheme, against their parents. “Lori’s legal team sat her down and told her point-blank that the United States Attorney’s Office

Shocking New Evidence Revealed!

Prosecutors pressure Lori Loughlin to change her plea to guilty — or else they’re calling her daughters to testify against her!

Lori and Mossimo have claimed they believed the $500,000 they gave to scam mastermind William “Rick” Singer — who pleaded guilty to paying off college admissions officials to get high schoolers into the country’s top schools — was a legitimate donation that would go to the University of Southern California. But in a Jan. 14 court filing, prosecutors released evidence they claim shows otherwise. Multiple emails illustrate how Lori and Mossimo allegedly worked with Singer to create fake athletic profiles for their daughters, who were purportedly rowing recruits, to get into USC. Olivia’s conditional acceptance letter is included in the filing, saying that she has the potential to “make a significant contribution to the intercollegiate athletic program as well as to the academic life of the university.”

will use her daughters as star witnesses in hopes of securing a conviction,” says the insider. “They’re not playing games.” As much as Lori doesn’t want to change her plea, it would be worse for her to see Isabella and Olivia — who sources say are already angry with their mom for tarnishing their reputations — dragged into this ordeal even more. “The attention they would get would be devastating,” says the insider. “It would damage them more than they’ve already been. It would be a complete circus. Lori can’t put them through that.” And if she did stick to her not guilty plea and Olivia and Isabella did take the stand, says the insider, “There’d be no way of Lori repairing her relationship with them.” But even if Lori and Mossimo do change their pleas, there’s almost no way they can avoid prison as Lori had hoped, given the charges for fraud, money laundering and bribery. “Reality is finally sinking in for Lori. She knows that she’ll probably spend time behind bars,” says the insider. “The big, unanswered question is: How much time?” ◼

obe Bryant understood life is short. “Things change in the blink of an eye. People go to work and don’t come back. One minute they’re living and the next minute they’re not,” the basketball superstar wrote in an essay shortly after Sept. 11, 2001. “We never know when our time here will be over, so we all need to make the most of every minute we have.” Tragically, his life ended way too soon. On a foggy morning in Calabasas, Calif., on Jan. 26, a helicopter carrying the retired LA Lakers player, his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and seven others crashed into a hillside, killing everyone on board. Kobe was just 41 years old. Now, as a nation of fans struggles to come to terms with the heartbreaking news, sources take In Touch inside his final minutes on the fatal flight. “It appears fog may have been an issue,” says an insider. “The LA police and county sheriffs had even grounded their choppers. So if Kobe didn’t go up that morning, he would still be alive.” HORRIFIC ACCIDENT Kobe regularly took flights on the Sikorsky S-76, which was dubbed the “Mamba Chopper” after his “Black Mamba” nickname. On Sunday at 9:06 a.m., he and Gianna, along with Gianna’s basketball teammates Alyssa Altobelli (who was with her parents, John and Keri) and Payton Chester (who brought her mom, Sarah), and coach Christine Mauser, took off from John Wayne Airport in Orange County, Calif. Pilot Ara Zobayan was flying them to Thousand Oaks, where they were set to play in a tournament at the NBA legend’s Mamba Sports Academy. “I imagine Kobe probably called Vanessa before getting on the helicopter,” says an insider, noting that the athlete hated sitting in traffic because it took away from time with his family. “He always checked in with her. It’s heartbreaking to think that that was their last communication.” After passing by Dodger Stadium, the helicop-

Just after 9:40 a.m., the helicopter first ascended to 2,000 feet, then rapidly plunged. “I knew it was very low from the sound,” says witness Scott Daly, who was outside of Calabasas’ Church in the Canyon and called 911 to report the incident. “I looked straight up at clouds and could not see it. Within 20 to 30 seconds of it, I heard the impact.” The aircraft had slammed into a steep hill at about 184 miles per hour, sparking a quarter-acre brush fire. After rescuers hiked to the rough terrain, they determined there were no survivors. As the LA County coroner’s office revealed they were still working to recover bodies the day after the crash, friends opened up to In Touch about the Kobe nobody knew. “He’d get really quiet, and some people thought he was going to a dark

that he could become a better man, which he did.” LASTING LEGACY As news of the icon’s death spread, grieving fans gathered at LA’s Staples Center, where Kobe played his entire 20-year career as a Laker before retiring in 2016, as celebs arrived for the Grammy Awards. “We’re literally standing here heartbroken in the house that Kobe Bryant built,” said host Alicia Keys. “Los Angeles, America and the whole wide world lost a hero.” Kobe always considered his “greatest accomplishment” to be his fam-

Vanessa is holding it together for their girls, but she’s in unimaginable pain,” says the insider. “She loved Kobe so much, despite their sometimes-rocky relationship.” That included a Colorado hotel employee’s accusation that he raped her in 2003. For years now, Kobe was all about Vanessa and the girls.” He was delighted that Gigi was following in his footsteps. “We had so much fun because for the first time I was seeing the game through her eyes,” Kobe said of his daughter in what is believed to have been his last filmed interview. Kobe, who amassed an estimated $500 million fortune, also dedicated

She didn’t take home a statue at this year’s Golden Globes, but Jennifer Aniston, 50, did receive the unofficial award for sexiest arms. Her secret? “I discovered boxing, and I love it,” she revealed in 2019. “It’s the longest workout I’ve actually stayed with consistently other than yoga.”

Bachelor Nation suffered a devastating loss on Jan. 22: Former Bachelorette contestant Tyler Gwozdz died after a suspected drug overdose at age 29. The psychology graduate student, who appeared on Hannah Brown’s season, died after being hospitalized for at least a week. Hannah — who chose Tyler for her first one-on-one date and then let him go a week later with little explanation — declined to comment on his death, but fellow contestant Jed Wyatt said in a statement, “You truly never know what anyone is going through these days. We believe just because people look happy and ‘normal’ in photos that they may not be fighting something deep and emotional. RIP Tyler, we love you.”

SUPER BOWL SHOWDOWN!

Forget about the San Francisco 49ers vs. the Kansas City Chiefs — the biggest rivalry at Super Bowl LIV is shaping up to being Jennifer Lopez vs. Shakira. “There’s been some tension, to say the least, over the halftime show,” a source tells In Touch. “J. Lo sees herself as the bigger star and hates the thought of Shakira stealing her thunder. They’ve been bickering about the direction of the show for weeks, and neither of them is willing to back down.” That has led to a big change. Jennifer, 50, and Shakira, 42, “were supposed to perform most of the show together. Now they’ll only appear together at the end, and even that’s a Hail Mary.”

RUSH TO THE ALTAR

MARRIAGE COUNSELING Justin Timberlake’s marriage still hasn’t recovered from his self-described “strong lapse in judgment” in November when he was spotted drunkenly holding hands with his Palmer co-star Alisha Wainwright, 30. The “Cry Me a River” singer, 38, and wife Jessica Biel, 37, are in marriage counseling, a source tells In Touch. “It was touch and go for a while, but after much thought, Jessica finally relented and decided their marriage was worth saving. So far, seeing a therapist has worked wonders,” says the source. “He clearly screwed up, but Jessica has her issues, too, and they’re working on not only their marriage but themselves.”

The Glow Of Your Memory Will Never Fade Like quiet messengers that bridge the gap between the light-filled heavens and beauty here on Earth, cardinals can be seen in many of artist Thomas Kinkade’s most cherished masterpieces. And in many cultures, these colorful birds are said to represent a loved one who has passed. So, when you see one, it means your special someone is visiting you.

Illuminated lantern is fully handcrafted!

Inspired by the beloved Painter of Light’s™ signature lantern, “Even Though We Are Apart Your Spirit Lives Forever In My Heart” will brighten your home and heart with the warm glow of a much-missed loved one’s memory. Every inch is crafted and painted by hand, from the cardinal’s “feathery” wings to the sculptured evergreen sprigs and glittery snow that add a cozy touch. Then, with just the flip of a switch, your lantern lights up, softly illuminating Thom’s full-color artistry that graces all four panels.

N

o, Rob Lowe hasn’t made a deal with the devil or undergone some extreme plastic surgery procedure. The impossibly handsome and seemingly ageless 55-yearold star — who became an ’80s heartthrob with star turns in hit flicks like St. Elmo’s Fire and About Last Night — is just really good about getting his z’s. “I take care of myself, and I’m an Olympic sleeper,” says the actor, who plays an NYC firefighter who relocates to Austin, Texas, in the new Fox series 9-1-1: Lone Star. “If sleep were an Olympic sport, I’d be Michael Phelps!” Here, the father of two — he shares sons Matthew, 27, and John, 25, with his wife of 28 years, makeup artist Sheryl Berkoff — talks to In Touch about giving back (he recently attended the California Strong Celebrity Softball Game in Malibu to help raise funds for victims of wildfires and mass shootings), making his marriage work and his guiltiest pleasure.

You’ve barely aged! RL: You’re very nice to say that. I eat well and I don’t drink, too. And I have my own skincare line — shameless plug! [Laughs]

What motivated you to create it? RL: I started Profile about five years ago. I established the Profile | Cobalt line [in 2019] because I saw the need for affordable skincare the average guy could benefit from. I also wanted a way to give back. Five percent of the purchase price goes to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Nice. What would you say has been your greatest life lesson? RL: Oh boy! That’s for a longer conversation. Commitment to family. Commitment to friendships are even more important than you think they are.

And what are you most proud of? RL: My family. My wife and my two boys.

With Sheryl, you have one of the longest-lasting relationships in Hollywood. What’s your secret? RL: Well, it’s the same as when they asked Alfred Hitchcock what the key to his movies was — casting.

Your youngest, John, does some writing on 9-1-1: Lone Star. How does that make you feel? RL: We’re literally shooting his episode now, and there are moments where he comes up to me like, “Hey, Rob, I’m going to cut this line,” and I’m like, “OK, great.” And then it’s like, “That was my kid!” It’s more satisfying than I ever thought it would be.

What can we expect to see this season on the show? RL: There may or may not be an explosion in a bull semen factory. It’s shot like Saving Private Ryan. [Laughs] The shows are massive; we go all out. We like to toggle between

FAMILY MAN Rob says he and Sheryl made a conscious effort to keep their kids grounded. (It worked: Matthew, right, graduated from law school last year and John has a degree from Stanford.)

big and weird. It takes viewers out of their daily lives. It’s a lot of fun, a lot of adrenaline.

And a lot of physicality involved in playing a fireman… RL: The physical stamina required for a network drama in and of itself is crazy, then you add 90 pounds on your back, going up and down ladders and rappelling down buildings. But I love it — the 12-year-old boy in me loves coming to work in the morning.

You have a line dancing scene. Did that come naturally to you? RL: No, I’m a horrible dancer. I blew my knee out at the Footloose auditions and was taken away in an ambulance at Paramount Studios. I had posttraumatic stress! ◼

GOOD ADVICE

“I live a healthy life,” says Rob. “I don’t drink or do drugs. I have a loving family. That puts you way ahead of the game.”

On a Lighter Note… Not to say that I’m lazy, but I use the very first one that comes up, which is the yellow thumbs-up. I haven’t even changed it to my proper skin tone.

It’s either Caddyshack or GoodFellas. All movies that are rewatchable contain multiple great moments, quotes and performances. Those two are at the top of my list.

Probably Robert Redford. He is the definition of a movie star.

To Chris Pratt: “Tee time confirmed for 11:30 a.m. Saturday.”
