i iers Morgan iis a bit M bi like lik Marmite. You either love him or hate him. My husband loves him. In fact, the first thing he does every morning is turn on the TV to see which poor soul he’s tearing into. Others, however, can’t stand the sight of him and that sometimes even includes his co-host, Susanna Reid, who says their relationship is “50/50 love/hate”. During our exclusive shoot, Piers admitted, “We have moments where she genuinely wants to kill me.” They were even arguing over her choice of a vegan roll for breakfast and the interview hadn’t yet started. Still, it must make for an interesting workplace and, trust me, having been behind the scenes at ITV for years, I know there’s no such thing as a dull day! Doesn’t look like there was a dull day in St Lucia either as Emmerdale’s Fiona Wade
shared h d pictures i oneymoon – of her stunning h honeymoon good to know as I’m off to the Caribbean next week. Fiona speaks openly about being 40 and feeling that time may not be on her side if she wants a baby. She’s keeping things crossed that things happen “the way we want them to”. Positive thinking counts for such a lot in these situations. She’ll certainly have something to celebrate if Emmerdale wins the Best Serial Drama gong at the National Television Awards this week. I won’t be there this year, but Good Morning Britain is nominated for Best Live Magazine Show so I wish Piers and Susanna lots of luck, too. They are up against my old friends at This Morning so I have to stay impartial. I’ll toast CHARLOTTE SELIGMAN the winner with my piña OK! EDITOR colada either way! charlo e_seligman

‘WE’RE THE MODERN DAY JACK AND VERA FROM CORRIE WITH OUR CONSTANT BICKERING’ AS THEY HEAD TO HOLLYWOOD FOR THE ACADEMY AWARDS PIERS MORGAN AND SUSANNA REID CHAT TO OK!’S OLIVER GRADY ABOUT THEIR LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIP THE SECRET TO THEIR SUCCESS AND WHY PIERS WILL NEVER BURY THE HATCHET WITH THE DUCHESS OF SUSSEX

ou’d be wrong to think that Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid are just pretending to bicker on Good Morning Britain every day to deliver good TV. When OK! catches up with the pair as they prepare to host an Oscars special live from Los Angeles, we can confirm that their tetchy, old married couple dynamic is as present off screen as it is on. Case in point, when the duo are ordering breakfast, Susanna, 49, orders a vegan sausage roll, prompting Piers, 54, to launch into one of his legendary rants. “F*** me!” he bellows, adding, “I am leaving if she does that. If she is having one of them, I would like a bacon sandwich with real pig, please.” Rolling her eyes, Susanna patiently responds, “I don’t object to you eating that, Piers. I just don’t want to.” But always one to have the last word, Piers fires back, “I

don’t care if you do object. I’d like my bacon extra crispy, too, please.” It’s exactly this kind of fiery, yet familial exchange that has sent Good Morning Britain’s ratings skyrocketing, with viewers tuning in to see the pair butt heads on everything from Megxit to Brexit. Next up, the duo are heading to Los Angeles for a special Oscars broadcast the morning after the big night. It will mark the second year in a row that they’ve fronted their Academy Awards coverage from the Beverly Hills Hotel, so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to give the pair a red carpet Hollywood makeover for our exclusive shoot. “It’s going to be even bigger and better than last year,” Susanna smiles as she emerges in a floaty red Faye Dunaway-esque dress. Posing next to her in his tuxedo, Piers looks equally pumped for the big night as he grins brandishing a golden statuette. Let’s just hope they don’t kill each other before they get there... How does it feel to be heading back to Los Angeles for your second Oscars special? Susanna: Amazing. It was such a glamorous, glorious show last year. Piers: You can’t beat being there. I got quite frustrated when I first joined Good Morning Britain because we covered it from London, which I thought was such a damp squib. We have some great names joining us as panellists this time. Susanna: It’s pure unadulterated glamour, so you can go to town with what you wear. I don’t normally wear bling, though, so I remember feeling quite tense last year wearing hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of diamonds – on loan!
Your ratings are great, but do you still want to beat BBC Breakfast? Piers: I absolutely want to beat them. They haven’t moved in the time Dan Walker has been there, and our needle keeps going upwards. Susanna always says she doesn’t look at the ratings, but when they are good, she texts me straight away. Susanna: I never said I don’t look at ratings! Piers is very post-truth, like Trump. He just rewrites history. What do you think is the secret to your success together? Piers: One critic had it right when he said we’re the modern day Jack and Vera from Corrie. That constant bickering, with an underpinning of affection. Both of us find each other vaguely irritating most of the time and barely agree. I take a hard-nosed, cynical view and Susanna always takes the nice, non-cynical view. Susanna: [Sighing] The sensible, liberal view... Does he still wind you up as much as he used to, Susanna? Yes! I think he winds me up even more now. We still have rows off air. At the moment, he is quite a wind up because he has a very, very strong view on the biggest story of the moment, Meghan Markle, and of course I take a very different view on her. Do you ever think you have gone too far with anything you’ve said about Meghan, Piers? No, I think she’s a total piece of work. And I think she is now doing to the royal family what she did to her own family and the one I feel sorry for in all of this is her dad. He has just been completely fried.
‘JOAN COLLINS IS MY GO-TO PARTY GIRL – WE WILL GO ON THE LASH’
SUSANNA WEARS DRESS SILVER DRESS BY AMANDA WAKELEY
You broke your teetotal stretch after last year’s show, Susanna… Susanna: [Gasps] I did! I thought, “I am in the polo lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel, Leonardo DiCaprio is in the corner, and I have just done an Oscars broadcast. If now is not the time to indulge in a margarita, I don’t know when is.” Then I paid for it over the next three days, so I’m definitely not drinking this year. Piers: It’s so boring. Fortunately Joan Collins will be there and we will go on the lash. She is my go-to party girl now. Which stars are on your wish list to bump into this year? Piers: My absolute Hollywood icon and hero is Jack Nicholson. Watching him amble in with his shades and a blonde on each arm, that’s a great way to start the evening partying. Susanna: Brad Pitt is handsome as hell, so it would be fun to see him. You celebrated your four-year anniversary of working together last November. Did you ever imagine you would hit that milestone? Piers: I thought about four weeks would be it. Susanna: After four days, I said to him, “Are you sure?” And yet it seems to have worked, viewing figures are up…
Could you ever imagine you and Meghan burying the hatchet, Piers? God, no. I fell for it once. I knew her over an 18-month period and genuinely thought we were quite friendly. The last I heard from her was when she tweeted, “Great to catch up with my friends in London,” and I was one of the three people she included in that tweet. And then literally, bang, never heard from her again. I don’t like people like that. It’s social climbing and ruthless behaviour. Do you still want to land an interview with her and Prince Harry though? Susanna: Yes, but Piers wouldn’t be invited. Piers: I wouldn’t be able to take them seriously the moment they start whining. Susanna could do that interview, I wouldn’t be there for that one. Anyway, my guess is that Harry will be back on the market in the next two or three years. Susanna has said that she wants to mother him, which I think we can all work out is a euphemism for something else. Susanna and Harry! I can see it now... Susanna: Don’t be ridiculous. It is possible to say that you want to give someone a maternal hug without it meaning something else. Piers: Imagine if I had said that about Scarlett Johansson? I would be arrested. WWW.OK.CO.UK
7
Susanna, you’ve described your relationship with Piers as love/hate. What’s the split? Susanna: It’s probably about 50/50. Piers: We have moments where she genuinely wants to kill me. And she is one of the kindest, most caring people you’ll ever meet. Susanna: So if I want to kill him, imagine what he is actually like. Piers: I know the buttons I could press to make her literally murder me. Is there an unspoken trust between the two of you? Susanna: We are very honest and frank with each other and I trust him completely. If something isn’t right, we will discuss it in a very full and frank way. Piers: You have to have that trust and you have to like and respect each other, otherwise it wouldn’t work. We have the arguments on air that people are having in living rooms across the country. You wouldn’t get that on BBC Breakfast because they aren’t allowed to express an opinion. Susanna: When I was on the BBC, I didn’t have to come down on one side or another, but on GMB I’m not allowed to sit on the fence – Piers would accuse me of having splinters up my backside! Piers toyed with leaving GMB last year before signing a new two-year deal. Were you worried about him leaving, Susanna? Well, I think we work extremely well together and we have a partnership that has become quite important to people, so I think if Piers leaves, that would be a terrible shame.
Last year you vowed on the show never to marry, Susanna. Do you still feel that way? Susanna: I’ve never wanted to. People always think I’ve been married but I haven’t. Piers: I’m her only husband. Her TV husband. And no man can live up to me, so why would you get married for real? SUSANNA WEARS DRESS BY TED BAKER
What do you think of everyone talking about how hot your sons are, Piers? They are! They have very good genes. They’re getting a lot of attention and they absolutely lap it up. They love it, but they don’t take it seriously. They got offered all those shows like Love Island, which they love, but they would never do it. They have their own careers, they have no desire to be reality TV buffoons. You recently revealed that you put on half a stone over Christmas, Susanna... Yes, I have, and I’m fine with it. The good thing about the dresses I wear on air is that they cover a multitude of sins. Piers: She needed to put weight on, she was getting too thin. Susanna: Piers thinks more meat on the bone is a good thing, but as if I would do anything about my weight for Piers.
‘WE BOTH AGREE THAT SHE WOULD JUST PREFER ME NOT TO PRY INTO HER PRIVATE LIFE’
Would you walk out with him if he left? Susanna: Don’t forget, I have been doing TV with lots of different TV husbands over the years, so he would just be another one. Piers: She’s like Meghan Markle. I would never hear from her again, she would just move on. Susanna: That is not true!
Does Piers always try and set you up, Susanna? Susanna: No, He’s actually quite respectful and doesn’t pry into my personal life. Piers: My idea of who she should be with and hers don’t marry up. Actually that’s not true, I think we both agree that she would just prefer me not to pry into her private life. I prefer not to pry because then if anything gets in the papers, there is never any suggestion it has come from me! If you get a former tabloid editor, there is always that lingering doubt in 8
people’s minds that you are going to leak stuff. But I am actually one of the most discreet people you’ll ever meet. Susanna and I could both finish each other in five minutes, but we choose not to.
Now you’ve seen Simon Cowell tone up, are you tempted to follow suit, Piers? Piers: He is f*****g disappearing. He is a skeleton. He says he has gone vegan but I don’t believe it for a minute. Susanna: One of my great ambitions is to see Piers one day as a kale-eating, non-drinking, slimmed-down vegan. Piers: Never going to happen. I don’t want to be slimmed down. I’m not going to pretend to be something I’m not. I’m afraid what you see is what you get with me, and I’m very happy with it. I look in the mirror every day and think, “F***, you look good.” OK!

HEATED OVER HARRY
The pair were only on air for two minutes when Piers started ranting about his current favourite topic: Prince Harry. “I don’t know why you have to keep having a go at him!” an exasperated Susanna sighed. When Piers went on to label the royal as “pathetic” and said he and Meghan “never stop yapping”, Susanna shot back, “You never stop yapping – so ironic and hypocritical!”
PIE’S THE LIMIT After comic Harry Hill threw a custard pie in Piers’ face during an interview, Susanna expressed sympathy for her co-anchor, only for Piers to then pie her. Stunned, Susanna exclaimed “You are so…” before shoving another pie in Piers’ mug and rubbing the cream into his hair.
PITCH PERFECT RFECT Last summer, Piers rs and ptains Susanna were captains of two rival teamss at n Soccer Aid. When m Piers’ world team beat Susanna’s England side, he lauded it over her the next day on air. “He’s worse than I imagined,” his pained co-host grimaced to camera as he held his trophy d aloft to the sound re of Queen’s We Are The Champions. 10
STEAK OFF
When Greggs launched a vegan steak bake earlier this year, vegetarian Susanna delighted in presenting Piers with one of the “delicious” snacks on air. “I’m not going to try it when I vomited last time,” Piers moaned, referring to an incident when he tasted a vegan sausage roll on the show.
FEMINIST FURY
When Susanna defended US model Emily Ratajkowski claiming she can still be a feminist and a lingerie model, an argument over the definition of feminism broke out. “‘You’re talking nonsense!” Piers exclaimed. Susanna hit back, “I’m expressing an opinion, don’t tell me I’m talking nonsense!”
BREXIT BLAST BREXIT BLAST
During an interview with former health secretary Nicky Morgan about Brexit, Susanna took umbrage with Piers after he kept interrupting her. “Sorry, do you mind if I ask this question, Piers?” she said pointedly. OK! WORDS: OLIVER GRADY PHOTOS: ITV

CONFIDENT KATE HIDES HER ‘SADNESS’ AS THE DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE LAUNCHES HER LATEST VENTURE THERE ARE FRUSTRATIONS IN THE ROYAL HOUSEHOLD OVER THE SUSSEXES’ ONLINE ACTIVITY
T
he Duchess of Cambridge was glowing with confidence as she launched her landmark UK-wide survey on early childhood in Birmingham, Cardiff, London and Surrey. It was her first official solo engagement since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit as full-time royals and it heralded a fresh new start for 2020, with Kate looking like she was born to be the future Queen consort.
Royal correspondent for The Sunday Times Roya Nikkhah told OK!, “In the last year or so Kate has become more confident in her role. Privately, I think everyone in the royal family feels a sense of relief that a line’s been drawn under Harry and Meghan’s departure, and William and Kate can now crack on with their own work as senior royals.” However, Roya suggests that behind Kate’s dazzling smile, there’s a sense of
sadness. “Kate and William are both still very sad that they don’t have Harry and Meghan with them.” Roya notes “more eyes will be on Kate now more than ever” as her royal rota intensifies after their departure. But she adds, “Kate’s at ease with that. There’s a strong hierarchy in the royal family and that’s a concept that Harry and Meghan perhaps struggled with a little bit. For Kate, her role has always WWW.OK.CO.UK 13

The Cambridges and Sussexes are no longer close b been so wellll d defined. fi d Sh She was always l going i to be b a future Queen, Meghan was not.” Kate’s appearance came as Harry and Meghan shared their first Instagram post on their @SussexRoyal page since Harry was reunited with his family in Canada. It featured images of Meghan visiting animal charity Mayhew and was seen by some as a deliberate attempt to draw attention from Kate’s work. Roya says that, although there was no malice behind the timing of the post, it has caused frustration in the various royal households. “It was very unfortunate timing and an unfortunate oversight. The households do know when there are big events coming up and they do try to work around that. So there’s definitely been frustration over clashes with publicity that possibly could have been avoided.” Their Instagram image also coincided with Prince Charles’ appearance at the World Economic Forum in Davos where he met teenage eco-warrier Greta Thunberg. It came a day before his historic speech at the fifth World Holocaust Forum when he warned world leaders that “hatred and intolerance still lurk in the human heart”. There are undoubtedly concerns about Harry and Meghan forging ahead with their new careers. “The Sussexes won’t be checking in with the royal household each week to see what big events are happening,” says Roya. “There will be less control of Harry and Meghan’s activities and far less communication. That’s just one of the things the household will have to come to terms with, but it’s very frustrating.” Now that they’re simply relatives rather than royal colleagues, there are hopes that the Cambridges and Sussexes will continue to heal the rift. “Over time, William will rebuild the closeness he had with his brother but at the moment the bond is still broken. The two families are now living miles apart so they’ll see each other a lot less,” points out Roya. “I don’t think Kate or William think the Sussexes are rejecting them by moving away, but I’d be very surprised if they’re scheduling any family holidays to Canada just now. In fact, we don’t even know if Harry and Meghan will stay in Canada. We could well see them living in California in a few months.” The month-long online survey that Kate, 38, has launched, titled 5 Big Questions, will allow people to share their thoughts on raising the next generation. It’s the culmination of eight years of work for Kate. During a visit to a baby sensory class in Cardiff, however, a composed Kate spoke of a very different time in her life. She described feeling “isolated” as a first-time mum on the Welsh island of Anglesey

I didn’t have any family around and he was doing night shifts. If only I’d had a centre like this.” She also revealed plans to take her children to the island “at some point”. Keeping her three children, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte, close to her, she was wearing a £1,070 Daniella Draper gold pendant engraved with their initials G, L, C. Kate later travelled to a prison, HMP Send in Surrey, where she met women prisoners as well as those who’ve since been rehabilitated and are rebuilding their lives with their families. Earlier that

‘HARRY AND MEGHAN WON’T MISS ROYAL LIFE’ PAUL BURRELL AND HIS HUSBAND GRAHAM TALK TO OK!’S EMILY WHITWAM ABOUT LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT THE FUTURE OF THE ROYAL FAMILY AND PAUL’S CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH DIANA PRINCESS OF WALES
B
efore her tragic death in 1997, which brought the world to a halt, Paul Burrell was the famed butler of Diana, Princess of Wales. After being hired as Her Majesty the Queen’s footman at the age of 18, Paul swiftly moved to Diana’s side and the pair shared an unbreakable bond. When OK! arrives at the charming Cheshire home that Paul, 61, shares with his husband Graham Cooper, 60, the pair welcome us with open arms, sweeping us away for a tour of their two-acre garden. A haven for wildlife and a clear reflection of their shared love of gardening, we get a taste of the tranquil world they’ve built for themselves after a tough road to marriage. Some 12 years after his appearance on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004, Paul separated from his wife of 30 years, Maria Cosgrove. He says that telling their sons, Alexander and Nicholas, he was gay was, “One of the hardest ap pp y times of myy life.” Happily

married to Graham for three years, it’s clear Paul still holds a huge place in his heart for his late best friend Diana. “These were the cufflinks Diana gave me,” he says holding up a pair of red heart-shaped keepsakes. “I’m always wearing her heart on my sleeve.” Here, in their first ever interview together, Paul and Graham open up to OK! about having children, renewing their vows and, of course, the fallout over ‘Megxit’… Paul, you’ve found yourself back in the headlines following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s decision to leave the royal family. What do you think about them dropping their titles? They don’t need them and won’t miss them. They’ll be free. They’ve been given back their lives. Being royal isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Might walking away from royal life put a strain on their relationship? They’re very strong. Meghan’s an independent woman who has her own mind. It may look as if she’s manipulating Harry, but she’s not! I have no doubt they discuss everything and they’ll have another baby very soon. They do need to accept being photographed by the paparazzi, though. They can’t have an entirely private life. Do you feel very protective over Harry and William at the moment? Very! I have regular run-ins with Piers Morgan, because I watched them grow from

Paul with his late best friend, Diana little babies into wonderful young men. They are Diana’s boys and that’s what you see today – a reflection of their mother. William’s being moulded for his future role as king at the moment and Harry hates being the spare. So, he’s striving to find his own path. Do you think Diana’s death had an impact on Harry’s decision? Harry was too young to accept his mother’s passing – it broke his heart. His life changed from then on and it shaped him into the young man we see today. He’s angry and he vents that towards the media and the royal family. But he’s a grounded person. He has his mother’s gift of being able to touch people in a special way. Would Diana have liked Meghan? Yes. Meghan stands for such wonderful things; she’s a mixed race, divorced actress and Diana would have embraced all of that. Harry absolutely sees his mother in Meghan – Meghan was 36 when Harry married her and his mother was 36 when she died. He was looking for a mature woman who had strong visions of the future, not someone who was dressed in Dior and dripping in Chanel. What would Diana have liked for her grandchildren? She’d have scooped them all up and squashed them [laughs]. Little Charlotte wouldn’t have stood a chance – she’d have been the favourite. Diana would have wanted Archie to have red hair. Diana always knew life would be difficult for her sons, especially Harry. She didn’t want him to go to Eton because she didn’t want him to be compared to William, but Charles overruled her. I believe he may have blossomed into a different person if he had gone to a different school. That’s the exact position Meghan’s been in by not being able to make her own decisions. She had no idea what she was getting in to when she married Harry. She signed up for love, not to be muted and trapped in a prison. 20

lived in an extraordinary world. But no matter what people say about me talking about Diana, she was my best friend and I can always say I was there until the very end. I definitely feel her presence spiritually. It’s lovely to see you so happy with Graham. What has married life been like for you two? Paul: We’re both retired now and I tell Graham how lucky we are every day. Graham: We spend a lot of time together since Paul sold his flower shop. We love gardening and going to the theatre.
How do you think William really feels about Harry stepping down? Well, he’s getting lots of support from Kate. They’ll make fantastic monarchs. I’m looking forward to seeing King William and Queen Kate, but I don’t have an appetite for King Charles and Queen Camilla. How do you think the Queen’s feeling? I know the Queen very well and I know she’s very fond of Harry. William would sit and have tea with her after school and Harry would come and put plastic flies in the sugar bowl! It was hilarious. Harry was the only one who could trick his granny. But I think she’s had a very hard life, and I’ve seen the tears of the Queen. She’s a kind lady, but she’s never had the life she wanted. She’d have been happy being a farmer’s wife. When was the last time you had contact with the Queen? Paul: On my 60th birthday. Have you tried to reach out to William and Harry recently? Paul: I haven’t seen them for some time but I love and miss them very much. Their mother would have been 60 next year, so I hope they’ll mark that with something special. Will you be celebrating Diana’s birthday? Paul: Yes. Perhaps a visit to New York. We have our special place in St Patrick’s Cathedral where she gave me a medallion of St Jude, which I still keep. She loved America, which
Is it a great sadness that you didn’t get to meet Diana, Graham? I would have loved to have met Diana. Paul: It was a shame. Diana and I never discussed my sexuality at length, but it was a known thing between us. Let’s face it, I did great flower arrangements, chose her outfits and gave her advice. All the clues were there and she was a clever lady. is why I’m not surprised that Harry is heading to North America. What advice would you give Harry? I’d ask, “What would your mother do?” And I’d tell him, “Don’t go through this life on your own, you need people around you who you can trust.” And what about the advice you’d give to your younger self? I wouldn’t have done anything differently because I always wanted to marry and have children. But I was so close to Diana that I’d question whether I was too close to the flame. It was almost as though we were married. So I’d tell my younger self not to lose myself in that world of fantasy fantasy. I’m jjust an ordinaryy g guyy who
Tell us about the moment you and Graham met... Paul: It was a very strange time in my life. I moved to Florida with Maria and the boys were happy there. Then, I was in the UK for work just before I was about to go in the I’m A Celeb jungle, and I met Coop [Paul’s nickname for Graham]. I was on a train coming back from London and there he was at the other end of the carriage. Graham: We’d both been in meetings, I knew who he was but he didn’t know who I was. Paul: He just looked at me and smiled and something happened. He smiled straight through me. I knew it was something very special. It was electric. Graham: I had exactly the same feeling, so I had my card ready to leave for him on the table…

‘HOW LUCKY ARE WE TO HAVE FOUND LOVE LATER IN LIFE?’
Paul: He grabbed his jacket and I thought, “If he walks out and I don’t say anything, he’s going to get away.” So, I looked up at him and said, “Do you have a card?” In his hand he had the card he was going to leave for me. After that I called him, we went for a drink in a local and we’ve been happy ever since. Prince Harry (left) with Paul’s sons 24
What was your wedding like? Graham: It was a very small affair in the Lake District. I’d say it was the best day of my life.
Paul: It was a pivotal moment in my life because I didn’t have to hide any more. For the first time in my life, I could be honest about who I was. But I always wanted to take care of Maria and my sons. Coop had to understand that.
Paul: We’re a modern family. It’s strange. It was New Year’s Day, and I was carving a turkey looking down the table at my ex-wife, my husband and my two boys. Graham: He thinks it’s strange – I don’t [laughs]! He’s old school.
Where are Maria and the boys based now? Paul: Still in Florida – we’ve just got back from seeing them. Graham: We spent the last three New Year’s Eves in Florida visiting them. There’s no bad blood.
What was it like, the moment you told your sons about your sexuality? Paul: It was one of the hardest times of my life. I just broke down. When I could finally get my words out and tell them, they said,

I was very proud that they could stand there and watch their dad marry his husband. The best thing that ever happened to me in my life was watching my children being born. It was magic. Would you two consider starting a family together? Paul: I’d have loved to have adopted. Graham: Me too, but we’re too old.
One of the nicest days ever for me was the first time Alexander and Nicholas sent us a joint Father’s Day card. It was beautiful. Would you ever consider renewing your vows? Graham: I feel like we do that every day! Paul: Yes, of course we would – we’d love to. How lucky are we to have found love later in life? OK! PHOTOS: RACHEL JOSEPH ASSISTED BY RIC LOWE

BOYWATCH!
FIFTH TIME LUCKY FOR PAMELA
SHE’S WELL KNOWN FOR RETURNING TO HER EXES AND NOW PAMELA ANDERSON HAS SAID ‘I DO’ AGAIN
F
ormer Baywatch h star Pamela Anderson says she’s a “lucky woman” after marrying for the fifth time following a whirlwind romance with movie producer Jon Peters, 74. The secret Malibu ceremony came as a surprise to many but there’s another twist to the story: the newlyweds have history, having first dated more than 30 years ago. They’ve remained close over the years and were even pictured kissing in 2004. It’s not the first time Pamela, 52, has reunited with an ex. The actress even got hitched twice to the same man – poker player Rick Salomon. The pair wed in 2007 and again in 2014 but each time the marriage lasted less than a year. Relationship expert Jo Hemmings describes Pamela’s relationship-style as the ‘boomerang’ or ‘yo-yo’ approach. “The fact that Pamela has repeatedly returned to failed relationships suggests she’s a strong believer of true love and leads with her heart not her head,” Jo tells OK! magazine. “She has a very fatalistic attitude to love and she really does believe these relationships will work a second, or third, time around. It’s a sign of her romantic, optimistic nature.” There’s a motive behind Pamela’s “repeated pattern of behaviour”,
28
Pamela and Jon more than 30 years ago says Jo. “I think she has never found genuine fulfilment in a relationship – until now, perhaps. “Each time she went back to an ex she would have believed she’d resolved any internal issues and was ready to give it another go. She’s naturally spontaneous and a bit reckless like that.” Jo says boomerang marriages have “a high failure rate” – around 60 per cent end in divorce. However, she thinks the former model has finally got it right this time. Pamela, who split acrimoniously from French footballer Adil Rami last year, describes Jon as the original “bad boy” of Hollywood.
The pair share a kiss back in 2004 Sh recently She l shared h d a poem which appeared to reference their enduring friendship over the years. She said, “Now I’ve seen more of life and realise… He’s been there all along. Never failed me – I’m ready now and he’s ready too.” Meanwhile, Jon, who once dated Barbra Streisand, said, “There are beautiful girls everywhere. I could have my
pick, but – for k b f 35 years – I’ve I’ only wanted Pamela. She makes me wild – in a good way… I protect her and treat her the way she deserves to be treated.” Jo says, “When Pamela first met Jon, he was the right man, at the wrong time. She was very young and her career was her priority. She wasn’t self-aware enough. Now she’s older and she wants to settle down with her protector. She’s ready for it.”
PAMELA’S EX-FILES TOMMY LEE Her first husband was Mötley Crüe rocker Tommy Lee. After three years of marriage they divorced in 1998, reunited briefly but split again in 2001. Seven years later, for the sake of their children, Brandon, now 23, and Dylan, 22, they got back together but it didn’t work out.
KID ROCK She got engaged to singer Kid Rock in 2002 after a short romance but split before later rekindling their relationship and marrying in 2006. The couple divorced 17 days later.
RICK SALOMON RICK SALOMON Pamela wed Rick Salomon, who made a sex tape with Paris Hilton, twice – from 2007 until 2008 and then again from 2014 to 2015. OK! REPORT BY MICHELLE GARNETT PHOTOS BY GETTY, X17ONLINE.COM

LOUISE LETS LOOSE
‘I USED TO HAVE SOMEONE BEHIND ME – NOW I HAVE TO MAKE ALL THE DECISIONS’ LOUISE REDKNAPP TALKS TO OK!’S KATIE LANGFORD-FOSTER ABOUT FINDING HERSELF AGAIN AND BEING THERE FOR HER BOYS
L
iving with two boys can be more than a bit chaotic. When OK! catches up with Louise Redknapp, who is mum to Charley, 15, and Beau, 11, she admits, “Charley never comes home from school alone – there’s always a trail of teenage boys behind him.” Luckily, the 45-year-old loves nothing more than a full house, and explains, “To me, the fact he feels comfortable and relaxed at home is the biggest compliment.” And 2020 has got off to a busy start for the star, who has just released her fourth studio album, Heavy Love. Louise says it has been a much-needed vehicle for her emotions, following the breakdown of her 19-year marriage to former footballer, Jamie Redknapp. Louise and Jamie officially divorced at the beginning of 2018, amid reports that her 2016 stint on Strictly Come Dancing was the catalyst for their split. Louise recently explained, “I was a bit lonely. My kids were getting bigger and Jamie was very busy. He had a very, very full
30
life and I was just going, ‘Well, what’s next for me?’” She added, “I made myself say yes to Strictly, and I realised that performing is what I love… even though I had a lovely life and there’s nothing more important to me than my boys, I felt like I needed to have a little fire again.” The former couple are still on good terms though, and Louise admits, “I adore him and always will. Jamie was the absolute love of my life. I guess I was happy to be invisible for a little while, but at the same time I felt I was becoming less and less of a person,” she says. But it’s clear when we chat that returning to her musical roots, as well as branching out into acting in 9 To 5: The Musical, has given her the confidence to realise just what she’s capable of. Also a keen fashion and design fan, Louise – who first found fame in girl group Eternal – has also been busy devising her own Love Louise edit for George Home. Here, she talks OK! through her inspiration and her plans for the year ahead…
‘I MAKE A POINT OF GIVING COMPLIMENTS TO OTHER WOMEN’
WWW.OK.CO.UK 31
Y ’ b You’ve been in i the th iindustry d t ffor almost l t three decades, Louise. Do you feel like your confidence has grown and that you’ve changed over the years? Yeah, I do! I think I’ve had to change, I’ve had to be okay, I’ve had to find the confidence to believe in myself. In the past I haven’t had to do that. I’ve had someone behind me and not had to be the one that goes out there and does everything, and makes all the decisions. I have to look after my children and I need to go to work, and I’m proud of achieving both. I’ve had to learn to be confident because music is the only job that I know, so if I’m not confident about that then I can’t do anything. I’ve learnt that confidence is key. Now the boys are older, do you feel your role as a mum is changing as well? Yes. They don’t need you to tuck them into bed at night; they need you in a different way. The 11-year-old still likes to sleep with me, and to cuddle. It gets to a certain time and he just wants to be with me. But the older one definitely needs me in a different way. I got to a stage where I thought it was really important that we became friends, instead of me just being a mother figure. He can tell me anything. I’m loving watching them get older and seeing their personalities blossom. And it must give you a little more freedom for your work projects… Oh, yes. I’m the first to say to women, no matter how many children you’ve got, if you’ve got something you want to do in life, you should chase that. I’ve had lots of comments in the past about having children and being at home, and yes that’s important but I also feel the need to do things that I love and that’s better for my children and for my family. Do you think they will follow in your footsteps, or are they showing more of Jamie’s sporting genes? They both love their sport. The big one loves his rugby and the little one loves his football. They both love music actually. The young 32

i and d singing i i as wellll b one lloves d dancing but football’s taking priority, so Jamie’s winning at the moment! I get really worried watching the rugby because they’re all pushing each other to the floor and it’s scary. I love it though. I get stuck in on the sidelines in the group of screaming mums! Sometimes the whole family goes to support him and watch it. Jamie does a lot of the football so I always opt to go to the rugby, so then we’ve got both covered. You’ve been through a lot with the end of your marriage. Did that inspire your new album? I’d say it’s pretty personal but in an upbeat way. When I first said I was making an album, everyone expected doom and gloom but it’s not. It’s really stand up, show up, keep on moving forward. There’s a few songs that may be a little bit more sad but not many, it’s quite a positive message. It’s a real upbeat and confident album. You said the best songs are written when you are heartbroken. Do you stand by that? Yeah. Not The Same is quite upbeat with a gospel choir, but when you listen to the words,
you go, “Wow, that’s actually quite sad.” I think heartbreak creates magical music unfortunately, but I’m not saying that I want to experience any! To me, music is a definite outlet. It was a way of putting my feelings down on paper without having to say too much. I also think it’s the one area in life you can talk about and you know that pretty much everyone else is going to be able to relate in some way. Which women inspire you? Having good people around you is really key. I love when women set out to inspire each other. I saw Hillary and Chelsea Clinton on television recently. Chelsea was talking about how nasty people were to her as an 11-year-old girl and she’s just so eloquent and strong now. For them – and it’s nothing to do with their politics – to come out the other side of such public lives and to come across so humble, eloquent, and normal at the same time was pretty inspiring. Do you think women are now more able to support each other and not feel pitted against each other? Absolutely and I think that’s so important. If I ever put pictures on my Instagram that are a little bit sexy, like the album cover, I was always really nervous because I’m a girly girl and it was never about trying to pose for men. This was about fashion, how I felt in myself and how I wanted to put myself out there. For every negative comment from a woman, I get 10 positive ones, like, “You know what girl, you go for it, why shouldn’t you? We’re right here behind you.” I’ve really seen a shift in that, which is amazing. I try to make a point of, whether we’re on social media or walking down the street, giving compliments to other women. You’ve said that you’re excited about doing more acting in 2020. What have you got planned? There are a few bits. It’s very early days but I’m definitely looking forward to doing more acting. Nothing too big, just the smaller performances to start with but I do love acting and it’s really nice to be looking at scripts. What would be your dream role? I’d love to play quite a hard role that people wouldn’t expect of me. Maybe a detective role that was quite gritty and something very away from the polished world of the music industry. Or play a real cow and it’ll be the one time I’m allowed to be awful without ending up feeling WWW.OK.CO.UK 33

terrible. Because I’m that person, If I’m ever horrible, I worry about it for about three days after. But I think it’s good to be like that really, as it means you’ve got empathy. As well as music and acting, you’ve worked with George Home on your Love Louise edit. Do you have a favourite piece? I love all the bits I’ve chosen, but the glassware is really amazing. The whole range of kitchenware is lovely, so those would definitely be my favourite. How would you describe your style when it comes to your home? I love quite minimal and modern. But with a bit of a retro edge to it, so I like 70s-style furniture in with a bit of luxury. That would be my ideal home. Does it get quite messy living with two boys? Yes, it does! It’s chaos. I like everything to be really tidy, which is verging on impossible with two boys. Charley goes to boarding school and he comes home every weekend and often one night in the week if he wants to. But he
never just comes home on his own. There’ll be a trail of 15 and 16-year-olds. They all come in like, “Hi Louise. Thank you for having us. Are you sure that it’s okay if we all stay?” Can you imagine walking in to the kitchen on a Sunday morning when I’ve left them all down there ordering pizzas or cooking? It’s carnage! It takes the first hour of Sunday morning to clean it up. But I love it, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love having the house full. They sound like very polite boys… They are. I’ve just known them all for so long and now they’re all six foot and they look like men. It’s scary. You find them strewn all through the house, on the sofas, any spare bedroom. I love the fact that my son feels comfortable enough and relaxed enough that he loves bringing them here. To me, that’s one of the biggest compliments. That means he’s relaxed and happy and we love having them here. No complaints! OK! ‘I DON’T WANT TO JINX SCOTT’S PROPOSAL!’
SCARLETT MOFFATT TALKS TO OK!’S EMILY WHITWAM ABOUT HER VALENTINE’S DAY PLANS WITH BOYFRIEND SCOTT CELEBRITY BAKE OFF AND EMBRACING HER THIRTIES…
S
he’s gone from the 29-year-old joker watching TV on her parents’ sofa for Channel 4’s popular Gogglebox series to one of TV’s most treasured names. And as Scarlett Moffatt approaches her thirties later this year, she tells OK! that she’s never been happier. “I’m really looking forward to it!” she says. She’s battled heartache in the past with previous boyfriends, but Scarlett seems to have found the one with policeman Scott Dobinson and the pair have recently returned from a romantic trip to Barcelona for their oneyear anniversary. The star was crowned the winner of the 16th series of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016, and was a regular face on their spin-off show Extra Camp – which ITV cancelled earlier this year. She’s also set to star on this year’s Celebrity Bake Off alongside Kelly Brook and Carol Vorderman. Scarlett was recently replaced by Stacey Solomon on Iain Stirling’s game show, CelebAbility, but when OK! sits down with her at the glamorous Mandeville Hotel in London, she’s full of positivity and praise for the Loose Women star. “I’m over the moon for Stacey,” she beamed. “She’s perfect for the role.” Here, the TV favourite opens up about Valentine’s Day with Scott, waiting for a proposal and embracing her thirties...
Scarlett found fame on Gogglebox
36
There have been reports about you being dropped from CelebAbility. Can you put the record straight? When I didn’t carry on with my place on CelebAbility, it was because I was doing panto. I’ve felt that the stories about me are taking the focus away from my
friend Stacey and I don’t want that. I’ve spoken to Iain [Stirling] and I know Stacey’s going to be amazing. This is about her, not me, so everyone needs to let her shine. Has your boyfriend Scott been a big support to you? He’d support me whatever my job was, he’s just really lovely. He’s also really focused on his career as a police officer. He quickly brings me back down to earth. If I have a bad day because a train has been delayed, he’ll tell me about his day and I’m like, “Oh, okay my day has been fine!” How was your anniversary trip to Barcelona? Really fun! But we only took €300 for four days, so we didn’t get any taxis. I don’t think we’ve walked so much in our lives. One night, we went to watch flamenco dancers and I didn’t realise how angry the dance was! It made me nervous [laughs]. Have you got anything planned for Valentine’s Day? I’m taking my family to Florida with Scott. It’s our first family holiday but he’s used to us by now. My mum loves him. Not that she’s not liked any of my previous boyfriends before, but she just really cares about him. She rings me about 10 million times a day, but when she does, she’ll always ask how Scott is. I’m like, “Yeah, he’s fine, why?” [Laughs] Sometimes he’ll say, “Oh, your dad’s just texted me about the football,” and I’m thinking, “What is my dad doing texting you?!” Are you hoping for a proposal any time soon? I feel like if he reads that I am, he’ll get scared and he might not do it and I don’t want to jinx it! I already feel like I’ve maybe jinxed

us by saying he’s the one. It’s his decision. It’s scary being an adult [laughs]. Would you like quite a big proposal? Well, I’m chilled and live for the moment. I’ve never got a plan, I’m always just winging it in life! What’s the dream for your future with Scott? Happiness. Sticking our wellies on, walking the dogs and watching TV with enchiladas. We just really enjoy each other’s company. How are you feeling about approaching your thirties this year? I’m really looking forward to it actually. I just feel so lucky that I was given the opportunity to go on Gogglebox in my twenties, because I’d never be where I am now. I regret not appreciating not having any hangovers, though. Now, they last about two days! That’s why I don’t really drink very often now. I feel so sensible.
i ffor C l bi How’s fil filming Celebrity Bake Off going? Baking is so much harder than I thought. I honestly thought we’d be allowed to take pre-mix cake in. Do you get on with everyone on the show? Yes, even with Paul Hollywood who I was really nervous about meeting. Me and Patsy Palmer get on so well and we’ve been out for food a lot since filming. Tell us all about your spring/summer collection with Peacocks… It’s floral, flirty and fun. I wanted to make sure that no woman was excluded, so we don’t have labels like “plus size” but we do have sizes 8 to 22. I know I’m not the typical person you see in shop windows, and I feel really proud that women can look and think, “If Scarlett can wear it, then I can wear it as well.” OK! efore Scott left to return to his post in the Middle East, I tried to soak up all the time I could with him. He’d been back for a couple of weeks after a three-month stint and it was so wonderful to have him back. But I knew that it would make leaving him even harder. We’ve enjoyed lots of chilled nights in and my son David came home from skiing to spend a night with us. Then, as Scott had to fly out early from Oxfordshire, we drove to Cheltenham to spend a few days together. It’s such a beautiful place and we went for a gorgeous dinner at The Ivy [far right]. Last Wednesday, I drove him to his flight in the early hours. It was horrible leaving him. I don’t know when I’ll see him again exactly but he’ll be away for a good few months. When I got back home, I spent the day crying. I went for a run but just had tears streaming down my face the whole time! I’m trying to keep myself busy now and surrounding myself with the kids. I’ve found a lot of women who have partners in the armed forces have reached out to me on social media so I feel supported. I’ve also got my grandson Teddy [right] for a whole day soon as Emilie [above right] is back to work and he doesn’t start nursery for another week. That will be a lovely distraction, if a very tiring one!

‘IT WON’T BE TOO LONG BEFORE WE START A FAMILY’ ROMANCE FILLS THE AIR FOR EMMERDALE STAR FIONA WADE AND HER HUSBAND SIMON COTTON AS THEY EXCLUSIVELY SHARE THEIR HONEYMOON IN ST LUCIA WITH OK!

fter spending six weeks apart before their wedding, Fiona Wade and Simon Cotton’s honeymoon couldn’t have come soon enough. With Fiona filming Emmerdale in Leeds and Simon on tour with The Bodyguard musical, some time alone was exactly what was needed. So after their nuptials, they jetted off to the Sandals Grande St Lucian Luxury Resort for a week in paradise. Stunning sunsets, sandy beaches and crystal clear water awaited them, and as they took a dip in the warm Caribbean Sea, the picture perfect pair wouldn’t have looked out of place on a James Bond movie set. “Fi always looks fantastic,” says Simon. “She only has to do a lunge and one plank and her whole body goes ping!” Fiona, 40, and Simon, 35, tied the knot at Euridge Manor and Orangery in the Cotswolds in a Baháí ceremony exclusively covered by OK!. Next on the agenda is moving in together later this year – in keeping with Fiona’s Baháí Faith – but thoughts have also turned to soon starting a family. “We’re very excited for that part of our life,” says Fiona, who plays Priya Sharma in the ITV soap.
42
Here, the newlyweds talk about their gorgeous getaway to St Lucia, and when we can expect the pitter patter of tiny feet… How is married life? Fiona: It feels amazing. Everyone keeps asking me if it feels different and it really does. We were so in love and committed before, but there is just something so special when you say those vows. We’re apart a lot at the moment because of work but there is just this togetherness you feel. It’s not easy but we know it’s not forever. Simon: You don’t want to be apart from the person you want to be with most in the world. Fiona: I still can’t believe I’m married. Whenever Simon says “my wife” I think, “Oh, my gosh!” I’ve waited my whole life to be able to call someone my husband. How was the honeymoon? Simon: We just want to go back! It was gorgeous. Neither of us had been to the Caribbean before and we fell in love with the beaches and the people. We stayed in a beautiful bungalow with a pool. Fiona: It was incredible, and the food was amazing. It was so nice to have that week just the two of us.

What did you get up to in St Lucia? Simon: We spent a lot of time chilling on the beach, which was needed. We also took an amazing cruise to a mud bath and coco plantation. The day we went saw the most rain St Lucia had had in 40 years! Fiona: But it was all part of the experience and the weather the rest of the time was stunning. We also had a candlelit dinner on the beach and a couple’s massage. It was one of the best massages I’ve ever had! You’re both in amazing shape… Simon: Fi always looks fantastic. She only has to do a lunge and one plank and her whole body goes ping. Unfortunately I have to work much harder, my body is breaking down in its old age. Fiona: He hurt his back before the wedding and I was worried he wouldn’t be able to walk down the aisle. But he always looks great. I go to yoga classes in Leeds. 44
Have you discussed starting a family? Simon: We can’t wait but we’re giving ourselves a few months to enjoy married life. But it won’t be too long! Fiona: I’ve always been very career orientated and I still am, but you just hit a stage when you know you’ve found the right person. I thought,”I can’t wait to have your child.” But you can only hope that things happen the way you want them to. We’re very excited for that part of our life to come and we hope that happens, OK! exclusively so watch this space covered their [laughs]! Obviously I big day don’t want to wait too long and we know we can’t, so we would really love it if God blesses us. We would love to have a few children but we would feel so blessed to have at least one. But if we can have more, that would be wonderful. Will you bring up your children Baháí? Fiona: Yes. The wonderful thing about
the Baháí faith is that when children get to an age of maturity, which is 15, they can decide for themselves. I was brought up in a multi-faith and multi-racial family. My mum is Catholic and my dad was a Baháí, and I had nothing put on me. Simon isn’t a Baháí and I respect that, so there will be a balance. I believe in instilling spiritual values in children, like the way you treat people. Simon: We’re on the same page. If you were opposed to those values you’d be pretty odd. I think the Baháí values are values people should live by whether they’re a Baháí or not. I think the reason Fi married me is because that’s pretty much the way I live anyway. I’ll let Fi teach the intricacies of the Baháí faith. Have any of the Baháí traditions been difficult to stick to in your relationship? Fiona: There are always certain challenges, but you have to do your best. No one is perfect. When Simon first met me he probably thought, “Oh, gosh, she doesn’t drink alcohol.” I have my traditions, and you don’t want to be with someone who thinks the opposite to you. But Simon drinks and I respect that, and we have a balance. It can’t just be me wanting something and him not. It’s all about compromise.

‘YOU DON’T WANT TO BE APART FROM THE PERSON YOU WANT TO BE WITH MOST IN THE WORLD’
Simon: We had to learn each other’s ways, but I wouldn’t say Fi’s faith is something that defines us. To be successful we had to find a balance. That’s something that we worked out, it wasn’t instant. Fiona: Everyone has their deal breakers but we always wanted to be with each other more than letting anything get in the way. When will you move in together? Fiona: As soon as Simon finishes the tour in February we will start looking for a place somewhere near London. Are there any couples you look up to? Simon: When we were being driven to the airport by Fi’s cousin and her husband they gave us some really lovely advice. Fiona: They said, “Marriage is your first baby and that’s what you take care of first and foremost.“ That really stuck with me. We have to nurture it. Your former Emmerdale co-star Kelvin Fletcher won Strictly Come Dancing, Fiona. Would you ever do the show? That’s the one show I wouldn’t necessarily say no to. I love dancing so I’d definitely consider it. I texted Kelvin to congratulate him. He’s such a great guy and I’m so happy for him. OK! used to play hockey a lot and I’d like to start playing for a team again. I love the fact that Millie’s trying something I used to do. Pete isn’t that into sport whereas I used to do loads of sport, so we’ll see who she takes after! Me and my mum were on the same hockey team when I was at school so it would be good if me and Millie could carry on the family tradition! The kids have been talking about this balancing trick from TikTok so Pete and I tried it out [right]. You use each other’s body weight and one person lifts the other off the ground. We fell over so many times and couldn’t stop laughing but after four attempts we sort of cracked it! You have to have amazing core strength to do it properly, which is probably why we didn’t get very far!
MEN SHOULD NOT BE BANNED
here was recently a debate over whether or not men should be banned from maternity wards after complaints from midwives at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary who said some dads can be a nuisance. It was argued that not allowing men to be there would just put more pressure on midwives to support the women g ven birth. I can who have just gi given can’tt
see this ever happening as I think there would be an outcry. It was suggested that some women were “too embarrassed” to breastfeed because of the number of visitors staying over, but partner support is actually a huge factor in encouraging breastfeeding. Banning men would also deprive them of the possibility of seeing their child being born and the first few days of its life. I can’t imagine giving birth without Pete there. He was also so supportive of me breastfeeding. Despite the fact that he found it daunting in the beginning, he always made me feel great for persevering. It was lovely that he was so proud.

The one that caused a stir was her crisp cupboard as she used a curtain rail and shower curtain rings with clips to hang them up [below]! I’m not going to lie, my cupboards are not very organised at all! I’m jealous as I would love to be as organised as that! It’s hard to find the time so fair play to Stacey for making it all work, especially with three children. hen contestants leave the Love Island villa there’s always a risk they’ll be forgotten, but Maura Higgins is firmly ingrained in our brains. Her fearless attitude when getting her man, Curtis Pritchard, her incredible one-liners and her straight-talking nature won the nation over, and she’s definitely kept us interested ever since. The 29-year-old is currently competing in Dancing On Ice and entertained viewers when she accidentally cursed after finding out she’d made it through another week. Her boyfriend Curtis, 23, has been supporting her from the side of the rink, but tickets aren’t the only perk he is enjoying. Maura has teamed up with Ann Summers for their Valentine’s collection, and, as she tells OK!, her fella has been enjoying a sneak preview... What are your plans for Valentine’s Day? You and Curtis seem very busy. Does distance make the heart grow fonder? When we spend time apart it does seem to bring us closer together. We get to miss each other, which is good. Recently though, we’ve been able to spend more time as a couple. He’s been coming to a lot of my rehearsals and he’s been at all the live shows. How do you cope with all the interest in your relationship? We take things at our own pace. We don’t feel the need to rush into anything. We’ve proved a lot of people wrong by staying together and happy. How are you finding Dancing On Ice? It’s very tough, but I’m loving every minute of it. I’ve never done anything like it before in my life. I’ve never danced or performed for anyone, it’s been incredible. There’s a great team on the show, too. Everybody has been lovely. I was a complete bag of nerves during my first performance, but now I feel like I’m getting better and my confidence is growing. But training is getting a lot tougher! The trolling goes right over my head. I meant maybe he wasn’t sexy enough for Siannise [Fudge]. He’s very fun and he’s a good looking guy. Everybody in Love Island is good looking, but maybe she wants someone a bit more dominant. So what did you think of the video of Curtis looking as if he was getting close to a woman on New Year’s Eve? You can’t believe everything you read. I’m very laid back. Tell us about the Ann Summers Unleash Your Magic campaign... It’s an unbelievable collection, and so sexy. Everybody is going to love it. It’s amazing to work with Ann Summers, and the underwear has made me feel even more confident. It’s important that every woman gets to feel sexy. Do you feel confident in underwear? Yes. I’m confident in my own skin. I don’t weigh myself, but I’ve noticed that I’ve toned up a lot more because of the skating. It’s been so intense! OK! ‘I DON’T GO OUT MUCH’ RENEE ZELLWEGER OPENS UP ABOUT HER LIFE IN HOLLYWOOD PLAYING ICONIC ROLES AND HER HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

he just won the SAG Award for Best Actress for her role as Judy Garland in Judy and is tipped to scoop the Oscar for her performance, too. But in the early days of her career, Renée Zellweger wasn’t always so comfortable receiving gongs. The 50-year-old tried to hide in the bathroom when she won the Golden Globe for her role in Nurse Betty in 2001. “During the ceremony, I thought, “I can just go for a little walk and I’ll just go to the bathroom for a second,” she recalls. The star was born and raised in Texas, but moved to Los Angeles in 1993 and enjoyed her breakthrough role in Empire Records two years later. Despite her huge success over the years, Renée recently took a six-year break from Hollywood – returning for the 2016 film Bridget Jones’s Baby. Opening up about her desire for time away, she explained, “I just needed to do it.” Here, the actress opens up about early success, her love for Bridget and what she learned from Judy Garland...

Congratulations on your success with your role as Judy Garland in Judy. Did you dream of playing her one day? Oh, it never occurred to me that it was a good idea or that it would be something that someone would propose. I don’t consider myself a performer – I’ve never done live performance before and I didn’t consider myself a singer of those sorts of songs. I didn’t really have that vocal stamina. But I was always a fan. She was always around the house and playing on the turntable and on a reel-to-reel. Did you learn anything from the role? Yeah, a lot really. Courage, tenacity and the inevitability of carrying on and the necessity to just carry on. I found my voice in this. You were born and raised in Texas. middle of nowhere and I got the bug. I didn’t understand why this felt very important to me, but I just couldn’t wait for the next opportunity. One of your breakthrough roles was in Empire Records. Did you know on set that you were filming something special? Yeah. It’s so weird to think that it was at the tail end of an era. It didn’t seem like that at the time. It was just an adventure. It was special because the actors were a lot of fun and I felt like we were at Warhol’s Factory or something because Allan [Moyle], who directed the film, was such a savant and he was so creatively fluid. He wanted everything to kind of flow and see what happened. So that was my first experience of that and it was fun. It felt cool to be in. Shortly afterwards, you starred alongside Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire. Can you remember how you felt when you landed Playing Judy that role? ‘I’M NOT DOING THIS FOR PUBLICITY I WANT TO HELP PEOPLE’ REALITY STAR KIM KARDASHIAN WEST TALKS ABOUT THE HARD WORK THAT GOES INTO JUGGLING FOUR KIDS AND BEING BACK AT SCHOOL
K
im Kardashian West is known for many things. She’s reality royalty, a model, runs a business empire and is the wife of rapper Kanye West. Now, the queen of selfies is turning her hand to law. “I really do believe that you can do it all,” says Kim, who is being home-schooled to become a lawyer while being a full-time mum to North, six, Saint, four, Chicago, two, and eight-month-old Psalm. Adding another string to her bow, her new two-hour documentary – Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project – launches in the US in April and shines a light on criminal justice reform. Kim, 39, whose late father Robert Kardashian was one of OJ Simpson’s lawyers, believes she has found her calling in life and says she can even change the mind of President Donald Trump... Congratulations on completing your first year of law school. Tell us about your life as a student… Thank you. Well, I have to study 20 hours a week.

Some people think you are just doing this for the publicity or to make yourself look better... I’m not doing it for publicity. I’m very used to criticism, so nothing really fazes me. There are a lot of issues that I might privately speak about with people in power that I feel strongly about. However, I stay extremely focused on an issue that we see eye-to-eye on, and I have been really focused to get a lot done. What inspired you to do The Justice Project? I think it’s really important, because there are two sides to every story and I was never the type of person to believe that. ast time OK! popped round to Anna Williamson’s Hertfordshire home, the Celebs Go Dating star was exclusively revealing the news that she was expecting her second child. Fast-forward six months and we’re back to meet her beautiful new bundle of joy, Eleanora Maria Di Pasquale, who was born at 10.44am on 21 December weighing 6lb 3oz. When we arrive for our shoot, Eleanora is sleeping peacefully in Anna’s arms while her dad, Anna’s husband Alex, a personal trainer, entertains her adorable three-yearold brother Enzo. “He’s very protective of his little sister,” says Anna as he gently strokes Eleanora, which means “shining light” in Italian and was also the name of their Italian midwife. In a world of seemingly perfect lives on social media, Anna is a breath of a fresh air with her honesty. The 38-yearold, who suffers from generalised anxiety disorder, suffered from prenatal anxiety and postnatal depression with Enzo after a “very traumatic” birth, and so opted for a private elective caesarean with Eleanora. It’s something she wants mums to be more
open about, so much so that she’s even made a documentary with the BBC about perinatal mental health. Here, Anna and Alex exclusively introduce Eleanora and explain to OK! why becoming parents again was so different this time around… Congratulations! Tell us more about Eleanora’s birth… Anna: It went well. I’ve been vocal about why I wanted an elective caesarean because I had such a terrible natural birth with Enzo. It was a forceps delivery and I sustained a lot of a blood loss so, for safety reasons and mainly for my mental health, I wanted an elective. I wanted to guard as much against having postnatal depression and birth trauma again as a result of having that control. There were a few tricky bits. She basically shot up high into me mid incision so our consultant had to rummage around to find a limb to pull her out! The only way to guarantee some form of control over the birth was to pay for it. We went without a new car and family holidays, and we had a private birth at The Portland.

Alex: I think private births are stigmatised and it’s good to break the stigma. The only reason we chose to do this was because of the complications and the postpartum care being so rubbish last time. They had a nursery there and we put her in for six hours each night so we could sleep. Anna: It is the best money we’ve ever spent. I couldn’t afford to have the same mental health fallout as I had with Enzo. How did you feel when Eleanora arrived? Alex: I was very emotional and over the moon. It was so different to last time. I was overcome with emotion then, but also with worry. Anna: It’s been so positive. When I had Enzo I couldn’t see him come out as I wasn’t with it, so that was really important this time. I struggled initially to bond with Enzo because it was so traumatic and then when Eleanora came out I was waiting for how I was going to feel. When they put her on me I remember thinking, “She’s mine” – and I felt great. This time I’m really enjoying breastfeeding, but I don’t subscribe to the breast is best thing. Fed is best! Alex: Normally I do a feed in the night with formula or expressed milk. We’re a tag team. Did you suffer from prenatal anxiety during this pregnancy? No, as we were more prepared. I have a friend who’s a perinatal consultant psychiatrist and she said I should contact my local perinatal community mental health team. I went for preconception counselling to talk about what measures we could take. We worked on my trauma and flashbacks from Enzo’s birth. I put my hand up and said, “Help!” Since having Eleanora, my love for both of them has really cemented my identity as a mum.
of therapy sessions with the perinatal community team’s psychologist. My main flashback was that I genuinely thought I was going to die. I could hear Enzo crying in the background and I was losing consciousness. Anna on Celebs I remember thinking, Go Dating with “This is really sad Paul C Brunson because I’m never going to know my baby.” The moment I had Eleanora it kind of righted all of my trauma. Tell us about the Inside Out documentary you’ve made with the BBC… It’s about perinatal mental health. I wanted to have a look at what’s going wrong and why women only get three minutes with their GP to talk about their postnatal mental health. I’m bombarded with messages from women who are struggling and scared their babies are going to get taken away from them. We went to a mother and baby unit where people have been admitted which, in hindsight, should have happened to me because it was that bad. I had this fear of everything. I felt alone and I had intrusive thoughts. When you’re not enjoying it, your ultimate fear is that they’re going to take the baby away and you’re not a fit mother. Because of that I then felt so bad I thought maybe it would be best if I wasn’t here and perhaps someone else should have him. When it was at its height, which was a week after the birth, I felt so desperate, but I didn’t feel I was able to tell anybody because I felt ashamed and guilty.
Do you still get flashbacks? No. I had them early in this pregnancy until I had a couple

What helped you through? I knew we were at a crisis point and that’s when I reached out for medical help. It was a very quick medical intervention to stabilise my mental health and I went back on my medication, which worked very quickly. I was ill-advised in my pregnancy with Enzo to come off a very low-level of [antidepressant and anti-anxiety] medication called Citalopram and then that meant I was spiralling. I haven’t had a relapse since that time. Talking therapies also really help. Has having two children changed your relationship? Alex: I think it’s certainly made us more of a family. Anna: When we had Enzo I was in a really bad place mentally and Alex took the brunt of that and then I think he probably suffered with a bit of posttraumatic stress dealing with me. Things were fraught. Alex: It was certainly stressful. Anna: The first month of Enzo’s life we were screaming at each other! Alex: I would come home from work and Anna would say, “Take him! He won’t stop crying.” What was that like for you, Alex? It was tough, but we got through it. It was really difficult to know how she was feeling and how to best support her, and sometimes unfortunately that ended up in arguments because I was like, “What is wrong?” and Anna
would say, “No, it’s fine, it’s this.” I felt guilty when I left the house because I’d think, “Great, a bit of rest,” but I knew Anna was at home struggling. To be honest some days I didn’t want to come back because I knew it was going to be really stressful. It was much better after the first three months. Anna: Over time I think the experience actually solidified our marriage because it was pretty grim. Tell us about the new series of Celebs Go Dating… I’m loving this series. B Jennifer Aniston celebrates her win 70
eing friends with an ex is an impossible task for many of us, but Brad Pitt and Jennifer A Aniston made it look extremely easy. The former spouses seemed closer than ever as they reunited backstage at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards in Los Angeles – 15 years after their divorce. The once golden couple of Hollywood were all smiles as they passed each other, with Jennifer lightly touching his arm before Brad held her hand as she walked away. The cosy photos excited many fans who have dreamed that a reconciliation could be on the
cards since Brad’s split from ex wife Angelina in 2016. Jennifer, who was dressed in a white silk Dior dress, said of the interest in her and her ex-husband, “It’s hysterical, but what else are they going to talk about?” Brad, 56, won the award for Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Supporting Role for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. During his speech, he joked that he could use a photo of the award for his Tinder profile. He also appeared to take a swipe at ex Angelina – who he embarked on a relationship with shortly after his marriage to Jennifer ended in 2005. “Let’s be honest. It was a difficult part.

He wasn’t the only winner on the night as Jennifer also took home the Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Drama Series gong for her role on The Morning Show. When Brad walked past a monitor airing her acceptance speech he exclaimed, “Oh, wow!” – further demonstrating the friendship between the pair. However, it may be too late for Brad as reports claim that Jennifer is dating film director Will Speck. The pair were pictured on a Mexican beach together recently and at the awards bash, she was also wearing a diamond ring on her engagement finger. So when RIHANNA split from billionaire boyfriend, 31-year-old HASSAN JAMEEL (below centre) recently we weren’t surprised to see her hanging out backstage at a charity concert with A AP ROCKY (left), who she has previously been linked to. Newly single Rihanna, 31, has also triggered “Will they? Won’t they?” rumours with her ex DRAKE (below). The pair fanned the flames when they were spotted together at the same New York Yams Day event. Rihanna, who is working on her ninth album following a four-year hiatus from music and also runs her Fenty fashion and beauty brand, recently confirmed she was “in love” with Toyota heir Hassan. However, the couple, who dated for four years, allegedly split due to their very different lives.

‘I STILL KNOW I AM SEXY’
AHEAD OF HER LATEST FILM HITTING CINEMAS WE LOOK BACK AT SHARON STONE’S -YEAR CAREER YEAR CAREER
A
ctress Sharon Stone revealed on social media that she has been looking for love on dating app Bumble. The 61-year-old hilariously tweeted, “I went on the @bumble… and they closed my account. Some users reported that it couldn’t possibly be me! Hey @bumble, is being me exclusionary? Don’t shut me out of the hive.” So it’s fitting that this Valentine’s Day the star will be appearing in romantic drama, What About Love. The film follows a blossoming romance, a far cry from the murderous erotic thriller which propelled her to stardom, Basic Instinct. The 1992 classic, says Sharon, was a turning point. “When I began my career, there were only two ways we were allowed to sit: cross the ankles or ankles under the chair.” She is, of course, referring to her character Catherine Tramell’s infamous leg-crossing scene, which has become one of cinema’s most iconic moments. Indeed, prior to the film’s success, y g traditional Sharon admits that defying
expectations of femininity made roles more difficult to come by. In 1995 she said, “I think people just did not know what to do with me... I looked like a Barbie doll, had this voice like I spend my life in a bar, and I said things that were alarming and had ideas that didn’t make sense.” In recent years, the Me Too movement has shone a light on sexual misconduct and gender inequality in the film industry. And Sharon’s response to CBS anchor Lee Cowan’s question about sexual harassment demonstrated the widespread nature of the problem. She told him, “I’ve been in this business for 40 years. Can you imagine the business I stepped into 40 years ago? Looking like I look? From nowhere, Pennsylvania? I didn’t come here with protection. I’ve seen it all.” “Nowhere” is also known as Meadville, Pennsylvania, where the actress grew up as one of four children, to parents of modest means. At 19 she moved to New York to model, before landing her first acting role in Woody Allen’s Stardust Memories in 1980. In 1996, her role as

At the GQ Awards in November 2019 Gi K iin C i won Ginger M McKenna Casino her a Golden Globe, and 2004 saw her recognised with a Primetime Emmy for legal drama The Practice. In 2000, Sharon and her second husband, Phil Bronstein, adopted their son Roan, now 19, later revealing she’d previously had two miscarriages. Their marriage ended four years later, and Sharon went on to adopt two more children, Laird, now 14, and Quinn, 13. Tragically, though, in 2001, Sharon suffered a life-threatening stroke. Despite that, the actress cites her forties as some of her best years. “I couldn’t work because women, once they got to 40, were not given jobs in Hollywood. I was a mom with three beautiful little boys. I was recovering from a massive brain injury, and I was in custody court constantly over my oldest child. But there was something wonderful in that period of all those challenges. “And even though no one wanted to date me – no one would want a woman that had little children – it was a period of reconciliation and change, and understanding myself. But also when I thought I was most beautiful,” she says. She adds of motherhood, “It’s one of the most wonderful times to raise boys. I’m trying to allow them to be informed, thoughtful young men.” And, quite rightly, watching her films has led to her boys to brand their mother a ‘badass’. Indeed, her 40-year career may have seen her hailed a global ‘sex symbol’ – a term Sharon shuns – but at 61, she will happily admit, “I still know I am sexy.” We couldn’t agree more! OK! or most 20-year-olds, getting their Love Island application finalised is a priority, but Sheku Kanneh-Mason has settled nicely into the daily ‘grown-up’ grind. After being named BBC Young Musician Of The Year 2016, Sheku played at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex two years later. The cellist’s second album, Elgar – a new album of works anchored around Elgar’s Cello Concerto – has already seen him become the first British instrumentalist to land a Top 10 album in 30 years! He will also spend the first quarter of 2020 playing concerts across Europe and the USA, all while studying at the Royal Academy of Music. Here, the star tells OK! about his successful journey so far...
days before the wedding I met them privately and played a little bit for them. They were really, really lovely people.
Congratulations on your MBE... Thank you. It was a massive surprise. I genuinely love what I do, so to be recognised for that was really motivating. I don’t know which royal will give it to me yet, though.
Were you ever challenged by your peers when you were younger with the idea that classical music isn’t traditionally “cool”? Actually, I never came across that. My friends were always understanding when I had to miss things to do a concert or rehearse. Even though they might not have listened to classical music themselves, they understood the hard work and dedication that anything like that takes. They would always come and hear me play and that was really nice to have that support from them.
What was it like to be asked to play at the royal wedding? It was so cool. It was such an amazing event to have been a part of and very different to what I’m used to. It was amazing to know that Harry and Meghan enjoy my music. A few

What do you make of their decision to step down as senior royals and spend more time overseas? I have very fond memories of playing at their wedding and wish the family well. What’s your proudest achievement so far? For me, it’s been recording this second album because it’s got so many pieces that I really love. But also, being able to play with so many amazing musicians who’ve been so supportive to me over the years. To bring them all back together was really special.
Does having Type 1 diabetes affect you in terms of performing at all? Although it’s not a sport, performing does take a lot of physical energy and adrenaline and that can affect your blood sugar. I always make sure I eat before I perform. I’m so used to it now because I was diagnosed when I was 12. Tell us about the inspiration behind the album... The main piece, which is Elgar’s Cello g to Concerto, is a piece I grew up listening and the one that made me want to be a cellist. I chose to record that because it’s my Playing at favourite piece of music. Harry and Meghan’s Do you hope to inspire young wedding people in a similar way with your own music? Yes, that’s definitely really important to me. I was really lucky that I was introduced to classical music from a young age. I hope through my playing I can inspire many more people to do the same. t’s officially the most depressing month of the year. There’s still 5lb of festive fun straining at my waistband and now I’ve had a hellish credit card statement signed, “Love, the January Blues.” It’s left me regretting my extravagances and seeking to reverse the damage. Normally, I’m a sucker for anything involving pampering and professionals, but if ever there was a time to rein it in, it’s now in the very bleakest of mid-winter. Still, hope abounds. Like the fresh shoots of spring poking through the mud, there are neat beauty products popping up for 2020 that are perfect for cutting back without missing out.

When you’re among friends who are knocking back the drinks, it’s easy to get carried away and match them glass for glass. Be aware of how much you’re consuming by counting your drinks. A large glass of wine served in a pub can be as much as three units.

Going to social events where alcohol is involved will make you feel empowered as you realise you don’t need a glass of wine to have a good time.” It’s not as tricky as you think, either. Here are seven simple ways to cut your alcohol consumption and cultivate a healthier relationship with booze…
BUY EXPENSIVE ALCOHOL
If you’ve splashed out on a bottle of Châteauneufdu-Pape or a Barolo you’ll savour the taste of the wine rather than mindlessly n the guzzling down contents of your glass.
AVOID DRINKING WITHOUT EATING
Try and eat a decent meal beforehand, or at the very least have a substantial snack which will help line your stomach and slow down the rate at which the alcohol gets into your system.
BEWARE THE BUBBLES
The bubbles in champagne and sparkling wine will make you feel intoxicated faster, weakening your willpower to say no to more booze. Save bubbles for special occasions.

Addiction specialist Chris Hill shares the top benefits of cutting down our alcohol consumption…
YOU’LL REDUCE STRESS ON YOUR LIVER AND LOSE WEIGHT
Alcohol contains a lot of sugar. A glass of wine averages at a huge 7.5 grams p per g glass – that’s a quarter of your ded daily recommended amount of sugar for the day. So reducing alcohol will help you lose weight. It will also help to reduce stress on your liver.
YOU’LL FEEL EL MORE POSITIVE
Alcohol contains ethanol which is a known depressant, so while it may seem that alcohol makes you feel more relaxed, that feeling will be fleeting. Emotionally, alcohol acts as a suppressant, covering up any anxieties you may have. So the morning after, you’re not only dealing with a hangover, but all those negative thoughts, or ‘hangxiety’. Cutting down will help you feel more positive and refreshed.
EXERCISE WILL FEEL EASIER
When you tame your drinking your body doesn’t have to work
so hard to eliminate the toxins you’ve consumed. This leaves more energy for other things such as exercise. When you’re working out, you’ll get a much better ‘high’ as your natural dopamine (pleasure hormone) release won’t be suppressed by alcohol from the night before. You’ll feel more energetic and be able to push yourself further, too.

YOUR SKIN WILL LOOK BETTER
Alcohol impacts your liver function, cell damage and insulin levels which all affect the appearance of your skin leaving it dehydrated, flaky, puffy and prone to breakouts. When you cut down, you’ll see a noticeable difference in your complexion, and you’ll have a OK! much healthier glow. V
eganuary may be nearly over but if you fancy carrying on with a plant-based diet, Henry Firth and Ian Theasby share some of their favourite vegan recipes that are easy to make and truly tasty. 1. The night before, preheat the oven to 180°C/355°F. Place the oats, almonds, cashews and flaked coconut on a baking tray (keeping them separate) and bake in the oven for 5 minutes, until golden brown (be careful they don’t burn). 2. Place the oats and dried fruit in an airtight container, pour in the milk and add the salt. Stir everything together, put the lid on and put the container in the fridge. 3. Roughly chop the toasted nuts and put them in a separate container along with the flaked coconut. Put the lid on and set to one side. 4. Slice the mango lengthways down either side of the stone, spoon out the flesh, cut the mango into bite-sized chunks and put the chunks in a container. Zest the lime into the container. Put the lid on the container and put the container in the fridge. 5. The following morning, layer the overnight oats, nuts, chopped fruit, yoghurt, mint leaves and flaxseeds. Halve the passion fruit. Serve the oats immediately, with the passion fruit halves. 100

Rainbow stir fry SERVES TWO INGREDIENTS For the sauce
● 3 garlic cloves ● 3 limes ● 1–2 fresh red Thai chillies ● ½ tbsp soy sauce ● 1 tsp sesame oil ● 1½ tbsp rice wine vinegar ● 20g fresh coriander leaves
For the stir fry
● 1 red onion ● 5cm piece fresh ginger ● 1 red pepper ● 40g cavolo nero ● 50g tenderstem broccoli ● 50g baby sweetcorn ● 1 carrot ● 50g frozen edamame beans ● 4 radishes ● 1 spring onion ● 1 lime ● 150g wholewheat noodles ● ½ tbsp rapeseed oil ● 1 tsp sesame oil ● 60g mangetout ● salt and black pepper
To serve
1. First, make the sauce. Peel and roughly chop the garlic. Halve the limes. Rip the stems from the chillies, cut them in half lengthways and remove the seeds if you wish. Put the garlic cloves, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, and coriander leaves into the blender. Squeeze the lime juice into the blender and blitz to make a sauce. Taste, tweak and season to perfection with salt and pepper and then keep to one side. 2. Now, prep the components of the stir fry. Peel and thinly slice the red onion, peel the ginger by scraping off the skin with a spoon, then grate. Trim, halve and core the red pepper, then thinly slice. Remove the tough stalks from the cavolo nero and thinly slice the leaves.
Trim and quarter the tenderstem broccoli lengthways. Halve the baby sweetcorn lengthways. Peel the carrot and cut it into matchsticks. Cook the edamame following the packet instructions. 3. Trim and thinly slice the radishes. Trim and thinly slice the spring onion. Cut the lime into wedges. 4. Now, prep the noodles. Cook the noodles following packet instructions. Drain the noodles in a sieve, tip them back into the saucepan, pour over the sauce and toss to combine.
5. Time to make your stir fry. Heat the rapeseed oil in the wok over a high heat. Add the red onion, ginger, pepper and a pinch of salt and stir (or toss) for 1 minute. Add the broccoli and baby sweetcorn and stir for 1 minute. Next add the cavolo nero, edamame and sesame oil and stir for 1 minute. Add the carrot and mangetout and stir for 1 minute. Tip the cooked noodles into the pan and stir for 1 minute. Serve with a sprinkle of cashews, radish, spring onion and coriander. OK!

WHY GO THERE
Bodrum, Marmaris and Fethiye may be Turkey’s best known holiday spots for Brits, but there are plenty of off-the-beaten track hideaways too. TV pundit and former footballer Rio Ferdinand and his new wife Kate chose the Datça Peninsula for their lavish wedding last year, while OK! opted to stay at a newly revamped hotel in Özdere – just a 40-minute drive from Izmir airport on Turkey’s west coast. WHERE TO STAY
Beyoncé once sang, “Who run the world?” Girls, of course! And OK! discovered that beachfront hotel Club Marvy is not only owned and run by an all-female team, but it also boasts a female Michelin-star chef and showcases work by Turkish women in its art gallery. The hotel sits in a sheltered bay overlooking the Aegean Sea. Its stylish interior features lots of local wood, stone and hand-woven textiles, as well funky lighting. The 339-room resort is surrounded by 130 acres of lush manicured gardens scented with olive, pine and pomegranate trees. The adults only area is perfect for couples, with a stunning clifftop restaurant and cool Boho Beach club, where you can dance barefoot to the beats played by the resident DJ. The party vibe ramps up a gear during their weekly beach parties, with live bands and Instagrammable signs written in fairy lights. There’s also plenty for families at the resort, with a well-equipped kids’ clubs, an on-site water park and sailing courses for eight to 15-year-olds.
WHERE TO DINE AND BE SEEN
The hotel’s Degirmen restaurant was our favourite spot for sunset cocktails and romantic dinners. Housed in a former windmill with stunning views of the bay, it has a rustic feel with marble tables and a farm-to-table menu using produce from the owner’s mother’s organic farm. OK! also enjoyed delicious homemade pasta on a flower-filled terrace at upscale Buono.Italiano, which is under the helm of Michelin-starred chef Cristina Bowerman, while at the Iskele Meyhane taverna you can try Turkish mezze and fresh seafood on a wooden deck overlooking the sea. Families will love the hotel’s main restaurant (below), where you can choose your food and some of it’s prepared at one of the cooking stations. Here, you can try the local olives, dolma (stuffed vine leaves), kebabs and hummus with warmed flat breads. Make sure you leave room for baklava, a signature Turkish dessert served with pomegranate ice cream. After dinner, wander along the hotel’s shopping street, popping into the boutiques before stopping off for an Aperol Spritz at the Luvi Bar.

MUST-DO ACTIVITIES
An early morning yoga class by the sea with the soothing soundtrack of lapping waves is the perfect way to start the day. There’s also beach volleyball, Zumba and salsa classes on offer, as well as water sports for more active types. Feeling creative? The hotel offers embroidery, ceramics and print workshops as part of its Artist Residency programme. With glue gun in hand, OK! joined a floral hairband workshop, where we made accessories from native blooms. ALVESTON MANOR STRATFORD UPON AVON Rumour has it that the very first performance of A Midsummer’s Night Dream was given under the old cedar tree that stands in the gardens of this gracious manor house in the heart of Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon. So if you want to combine a weekend away from London with a bit of British culture – and rest up in true celebrity style – then this is the place for you. At first glance the building looks Edwardian, but actually dates back to Tudor times. The oak panelling and wooden beams you see as you walk in are pretty impressive and pictures of Henry VIII and William Shakespeare line the creaky corridors so you feel a bit like you’ve truly stepped back in time.

Plonk yourself by the roaring fire and order a pot of tea, which comes served in a good old fashioned bone china cup and saucer (with a delicious shortbread on the side) – and we promise you it will be hard to get up again.
WHY DO WE LOVE IT?
With facilities that include an Elemis spa with a swimming pool, sauna and steam room, this is the way to spend an indulgent break. After a full body massage, we enjoyed a swim a and sauna before relaxing o on the lounge beds for a read of the papers and a little snooze. We only ffound the energy to get up because it was time for an early evening gin and tonic in the old library! Dinner was served in the elegant Manor restaurant where there’s a full menu of British modern classics to choose from. (If we weren’t so full from lunch we could have savoured the three-tier tea too, but we needed to save some room). To start, we tried the artichoke soup, which was delicious, and then for a main course we
steakk opted for the lamb shank and the steak, both served with an accompanying basket of chips. No arm twisting was needed for the chocolate fondant dessert.
WHAT ELSE IS THERE?
A five minute walk takes you to straight to the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, a traditional medieval market town and, of course, William Shakespeare’s birthplace. We toured the very house in Henley Street where he was born, learning more in an hour or so than we ever remember being taught at school! It’s also home to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and it’s well worth noting what’s on while you’re there. We saw a fabulous musical production of David Walliams’ best selling book The Boy In The Dress. We didn’t see him, sadly, or Robbie Williams who wrote the music, but apparently they were in town the week before! We’ll have to plan better next time. OK! e’s known as Albert Square’s resident hard man Phil Mitchell and has kept viewers hooked in recent weeks after vowing revenge on wife Sharon and her former toyboy lover Keanu. But when Steve McFadden welcomed OK! into his north London home to introduce his new daughter with then girlfriend Rachel Sidwell, the actor showed off a much softer side. They decided on the name Amelie Tinkerbell Sidwell for their new bundle of joy, who is now 10. Doctor Rachel said of the planned C-section, “Obviously I’m not squeamish, but being a doctor can make it worse as it means I know what could go wrong. Despite the baby being just weeks old, she already had some celebrity connections. Steve explained, “We’ve had so many amazing presents from members of the cast, like Patsy Palmer and Jake Wood. And this milking chair I’m sitting on is from Samantha Womack – apparently Liam Gallagher used it before us too! The besotted dad said of the arrival, “It was incredible, because she came out looking perfect. He added, “I’m happier now than I have ever been. I can’t wait to start having more. Steve, who also has children Matthew, 34, Teona, 23, and Mollie, 16, from two previous relationships, sadly broke up with Rachel just four months after the birth of Amelie. In true soap style, she then reportedly returned to the home of her former husband and three children – who she left for Steve. In June 2016, he welcomed daughter Frankie with long-term girlfriend Karen Cairns. And at 60 years of age, Steve will soon be making public appearances at techno raves nationwide. So you could soon be able to say, “I’ve partied with a Mitchell brother! OK!
